The safe zone was refreshed, so the house that they were in was no longer within it.

“It’s not too far. We’ll run along the circle’s boundary. Innocent Bro, keep a close eye on the inside of the circle, while I look outside. Snowy...uh...Just look straight ahead.”

Lu Li chose to give up on the Jeep that had high defence for the sake of being quiet.

“Alright then. You guys don’t need to worry about me.”

Water Fairy felt like she was being underestimated.

She didn’t play this game that much since Dawn was launched not long after Survival and Escape was. Not only did she need to grind constantly for equipment and levels, but she also had to manage the clubs. Naturally, she didn’t have much time to play this game.

However, knowing that Lu Li had only played for a few days, she was discouraged yet again.

“Direction of S210 – there’s one. Wait no, there’s two. Might be more than two. They’re running from the circle. Innocent Bro, do you see this?” Lu Li asked. He had managed to find the enemy squads first.

“I see them!”

After knowing the direction of the enemy, Innocent Child immediately found their targets.

“Look for a cover first. On my count of three, we’ll rush in.”

Lu Li found a rock that wasn’t particularly tall and decided to use that for cover. Although it wasn’t that tall, it could shield players that were slightly shorter. Once the enemy team was in an open area, Lu Li began counting down.

There were three targets in total.

Actually, Lu Li was not strangers to these three players.

At the beginning of the game, there were 20 players – five teams of four – who all landed at the airport. Lu Li and Innocent Child killed off everyone in an extremely short period of time.

There was a team where one person was gunned down by Innocent Child at long range.

The members who tried to help were also gunned down. The first one to be gunned down was killed after being shot a few more times. This group of people examined the range from the height that Innocent Child was at, listened in on the fierce gunfire that came from the airport. Upon looking at the screen, they quickly left the area.

Run!

After saving their teammate, they quickly found a car and escaped immediately.

They were just in the wilderness, barely managing to scrape by with basic equipment and guns. Originally, they didn’t have any hope of escaping the circle. However, they encountered another squad of four and managed to kill them, so they looted their items and survived.

From these items alone, they managed to survive through the hardships that they faced. They finally saw the safe zone after a long period of wandering in the wilderness. It was like a light at the end of a tunnel.

However, a nightmare had descended upon them suddenly. Before they could even get into the safe zone, their smiles were frozen.

They looked at the IDs of their attackers – Innocent Child, Lu Li. Upon this realisation, they began to shed tears. If they knew that this was going to happen, they should have just died in the airport. They wouldn’t need to run all this way just to be killed by them.

Of course, Lu Li and his team wasn’t aware of their enemy’s sorrow. For them, these three players were only three players to kill.

“There are still 11 players left. The circle is so big! I don’t think we’ll meet anyone else.” Innocent Child helplessly said.

“Gun sounds – around 600m in the direction of S195.”

Besides the techniques in the game, there was also the element of visual and auditory cues. A high visual awareness would allow a player to spot a camper straight away, while auditory awareness would allow a player to deduce the direction. One indication was the footsteps, while the other was the gun sounds.

Firstly, Lu Li listened for the direction where the gun sounds were coming from. Secondly, he used the scope and looked towards that direction, then made a judgment on the distance between them.

“Ah, I see them. They’re quite far away. How about a competition? Let’s see who can gun down this person first. How about that?” Innocent Child suggested. He looked at his kill rate and compared it to Lu Li’s. He knew that he couldn’t match Lu Li’s kill rate, but he wanted to compare their skills.

Their target was fighting someone else, so he wasn’t aware of Lu Li and his team.

Furthermore, this person was a sniper, so he didn’t move often. 600m was a distance that was still manageable, but luck was also a huge factor.

“Alright. Snowy, do you want to join?” Lu Li asked. He needed to tend to his relationship even while playing the game.

As a good boyfriend, he couldn’t just care about himself while playing the game. He also needed to care for his girlfriend’s gaming experience.

“Yeah!” Water Fairy agreed as she swapped out for a 98K. The three snipers targeted this player together.

Using a sniper to kill was difficult; they needed to measure the distance and aim properly. Experience was also a huge factor as there were many foundational gun mechanics that needed to be accounted for. It was said that this game would eventually add environmental factors, such as the weather and wind speed, but it wasn’t that complex yet.

The poor sniper was completely unaware that he had become a shooting target.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Three gunshots resounded seemingly at the same time as blood instantly flowed from the player’s body. However, he wasn’t down yet.

“Missed,” Lu Li muttered under his breath.

Although the target was struck, he didn’t know whether it was Water Fairy or Innocent Child. It definitely wasn’t Lu Li though, because he had the AWM equipped. If he had landed his shot with an AWM, not even a level 3 armor would be able to protect the player from hitting the ground.

“It wasn’t me,” Water Fairy admitted.

“He’s not dead yet,” Innocent Child calmly said. He was clear when stating the conditions of winning this game. They needed to ‘gun down’ the target, not just merely hit them.

“Then let’s continue. This person is moving now, so it won’t be easy.”

Lu Li loaded his gun again and held his breath.

Water Fairy swapped out for a rifle instead. She wasn’t proficient with a sniper anyway, so there was no way that she was going to hit the target at such a range.

The target knew that he was being aimed at, but he didn’t know which direction these bullets were coming from. If he moved too much and tried to change cover, then he might end up exposing himself to even more people, so he just kept moving around in the same spot. He tried to use this method to avoid the bullets aimed at him.

Bang! Bang! Pa! Pa! Pa!

Two of the sounds were from snipers. Innocent Child’s 98K had a silencer attached to it, so the sound was softened. Lu Li’s sniper was without any additional attachments, while the other sound was Water Fairy’s M4. Then, the system indicated that...

Someone had been killed by Water Fairy with a headshot.

A headshot from this distance!

Water Fairy’s livestream was instantly flooded with ‘666’. Their goddess was so magnificent! So awesome! They had to send her some gifts.

Of course, even the craziest fans knew that this was all luck. From this distance, very few people would be able to headshot a player using an automatic rifle, especially a moving target. A bullet’s power was greatly reduced after 500m of travel.

“The best player was actually Water Fairy. I’ve lost.”

Innocent Child wasn’t disappointed.

“Yeah, we both lost.”

This result made Lu Li even happier than if he had won the contest. Water Fairy was also extremely happy, even if her shot was by a stroke of pure luck.
