Chapter 1635: Nightmare Illusion

With the Elite groups of the major guilds, the Nightmare Illusions could no longer stomp on players like they were doing before. Now, the tables had turned completely.

The players could also revive and return to battle, while the Illusions could not.

The reason why the Nightmare Illusions were strong was because of their numbers, but they could also gain power by killing players.

The Nightmare Illusions that were infesting Nighthaven were quickly cleared out.

Eranikus was furious.

“You shouldn’t be proud of defeating my minions. Come and face off against me, mortals!”

Countless spells and skills were flung towards Eranikus and he was blasted in the face.

“Remulos, look how easily they fall before me? You can’t stop this, fool. Turn yourself over and it’ll all be over.”

Eranikus knew that he had to kill Remulos and could ignore the weak adventurers.

“Protect Remulos!” Lu Li yelled.

How could they protect him? Sure, the healers could heal him, but Remulos was taking massive amounts of damage from Eranikus and their skills were basically doing nothing.

At this very moment, Tyrande brought reinforcements to the battle and began to pray.

“Elune, hear my prayers. Grant us serenity! Watch over our fallen...”

With her prayers, all of the fallen players were revived and they were granted 4500 HP regeneration per second, which was more than most player’s max HP. This meant that it was almost impossible to die, unless you were killed in one shot.

Tyrande looked towards Eranikus.

“What are you looking at?” Eranikus asked in contempt.

Tyrande looked at him and shouted, “Eranikus, seek forgiveness and you shall receive!”

“Forgiveness my ass!”

Eranikus tried to stop the female priest from channeling her spell. She was obviously weaker than Remulos, however, she had a Goddess backing her up.

The Night Elf troops and Priests that Tyrande brought with her made it difficult for Eranikus to get into melee range.

“Eranikus, you will be forgiven. Elune will always love you. Break free of that bonds that command you!”

Rays of moonlight pierced the dark clouds that Eranikus had cast over the sky of Nighthaven and converged on him.

Would Eranikus die from a single spell?

This skill looked similar to the adventurer skill Wisp Detonate. The rays of moonlight pierced through Eranikus’ body.

From the players’ point of view, it looked like he was being burned alive by the moonlight.

“Why, why... did this happen to me? Where were you Tyrande? Where were you when I fell from the grace of Elune?”

Eranikus was wholly consumed by the light of Elune as tranquility was restored to Nighthaven.

Upon returning to his normal self, Eranikus sighed, “I feel.. I feel the touch of Elune upon my being once again, She smiles upon me..”

“Praise to Elune. Eranikus is redeemed.”

“For so long, I was lost... The Nightmare’s corruption had consumed me... and now you... all of you have saved me. You have released me from its grasp.

The players received a notification for their award.

Eranikus handed over the Scepter Shards that he was protecting over without hesitation. He felt a sense of relief.

“My lady, I am unworthy of your prayers. Truly, you are an angel of light. Please assist me in returning to the barrow den so that I may return to the Dream. I, like Malfurion, also have a love awaiting me... I must return to her... to protect her...” Eranikus said to Tyrande.

“It will be done Eranikus. Be well,” Tyrande agreed.

Eranikus was cleansed, but he still needed to return to the Dream.

“He has received redemption,” Remulos said peacefully as he watched the emerald dragon fly away. “Thank you and your friends. Without them, Nighthaven would have suffered a different ending.”

“This is our duty. Azeroth is home to all of us.”

And so, Lu Li received another Epic equip.

His reward was better than everyone else’s because he was the one that initiated the quest. The players that were present mainly received Reputation.

No one cared about the reward they received because this was something that could brag about for many years to come.

Because of the wine festival that ended recently, many players still had a lot of leftover wine in their storages. As such, they decided to celebrate and get drunk.

Lu Li took the green scepter shard and returned to the Cave of Times to find Anachronos.

“How’s Eranikus?” he asked.

COMMENT

“He was cleansed by the Light of Elune and has returned to the one he loved,” Lu Li summarized.

“It was a difficult feat defeating him,” Anachronos acknowledged, nodding his head, “but before you celebrate, I want you to find the remaining shards.”

Lu Li then decided to head to Azshara to find Azuregos.

The Azure Drake was a Wild Boss in Azshara that tested a team’s coordination. Once they could kill the Azure Drake, they could attempt the Molten Core dungeon.

However, Lu Li had already cleared Molten Core and the Blue Dragon was already dead.

He needed to wait for Azure Drake to respawn, so he could not continue with his quest for now.
