Chapter 1911: Through His Stomach

A lot of flying mounts had already come out now, but most of them were factional flying mounts. After reaching a certain amount of reputation and learning how to ride, they could spend a huge sum of gold and purchase one.

Aside from reputation, to learn to ride and obtain the mount would cost at least over 1000 gold.

This sort of expenditure also successfully stopped the worth of gold from dropping. On the black market, the trading price was at more than 20. For a game that had already been released for more than 2 years, this was a favorable result.

With a flying mount, players could soar at the horizons, fly through the fiery-red clouds of Hellfire Peninsula, or get a bird’s-eye view of those waves of green of the Nagrand grassland.

Players had complete control over the flying mount, able to explore every nook and cranny of the Outland.

Actually, within the shards of the Outland, there was an area which was floating around in thin air. Because of this, only adventurers who were riding on flying mounts could get there.

Dawn purposely put a treasure chest here on this unassuming location to encourage players to come explore.

Most of these treasure chests didn’t need Unlock skills. Anyone could open them, and inside, there was gold, equipment and materials as well. Although it wasn’t worth all that much, it was another benefit in addition to enjoying the scenery.

Players could finish off the Netherwing quest and come to get EXP and money. At the same time, they could also increase their Netherwing Reputation and obtain the Nether Dragon mount.

This sort of epic flying mount was pretty damn awesome!

As soon as your Netherwing Reputation reached Worshiped, when you completed a series of tasks, you would be rewarded with the Nether Drake mount for free.

If they wanted to get Nether Drakes, players first needed to chat with the NPC Mordenai, who was in the Moon Shadow Valley of the Nether plain. As long as they completed the series of quests that he provided, players would reach neutral Reputation with the Netherwing.

Moon Shadow Valley was the stomping ground of wild Orcs and Demons. Wild Orcs were nothing to be scared of, but those demons had been fighting against the Wildhammer Stronghold and Shadow Moon village with no end in sight.

Fortunately, those townsfolk were relatively strong, otherwise, they wouldn’t have been able to protect their places of rest.

One of these places was the Wildhammer Stronghold, featured in one of five famous hero statues of Stormwind City’s Valley of Heroes. It was an Alliance stronghold founded by the group led by the Dwarf hero Kurdran Wildhammer. It was also the only capital city of the alliance in this precarious Moon Shadow Valley. Apart from being a center of military strategy, there was another reason it was important, especially for adventurers – it was a place where you could buy riding skills and high-level flying mounts!

Mordenai looked like a Blood Elf from his appearances. He had a head of blond hair and was ridiculously handsome.

Of course, he was still no Wandering. After all, NPCs were NPCs. No matter how intelligent they could be, they had to comply with pre-programmed things to exist.

Even a pretty face would still look quite stiff and unanimated.

Since the first MMORPG ‘New World’ came out, games didn’t construct NPCs to be overly intelligent. One reason was the problem of cost, and other was that these intelligent NPCs would actually start thinking about life, which terrified humans.

Dawn’s intelligence was done well. It was just that the core of the intelligence was given to just a few NPCs. Mordenai, this quest issuer, could just be considered a low-intelligence NPC.

Netherwing reputation began at Aggravated, and players could only complete ordinary quests to get to Neutral. Only right after that could they earn Reputation by different methods. They could complete normal, Netherwing-related quests to gain Reputation, all the way until Worshiped.

“So, it’s a Night Elf couple. What are you doing coming on my turf?”

Mordenai’s database was evidently enough for him to complete a simple conversation, and his tone wasn’t that friendly either. One reason was because of the rough relationship between Night Elves and Blood Elves, and the other was because Lu Li and Water Fairy’s Reputation were mediocre.

“We are adventurers, hoping to find something to do and earn a bit to make our way home,” Lu Li lied openly.

But how would Mordenai believe this? After some deep thought, he said, “See those drakes? They are starving but they lack skills to hunt effectively. Get them some meat. I think that’s the most suitable job for you.”

“Ok, Mr. Mordenai. I guarantee we’ll be done with this task very soon,” Lu Li immediately agreed.

The quest wasn’t hard to activate. They just had to do things according to what he said. There were a lot of monster near Dragonmaw Stronghold that dropped pieces of meat and innards. After fighting for a bit, Lu Li and Water Fairy had collected a backpack full.

“It looks like these meat pieces can be synthesized,” Water Fairy realized.

“Then let’s combine them into big pieces. It’ll probably increase our reputation a bit.”

Lu Li took a piece of fresh, red meat, weighed it in his hand and asked, “Why don’t we roast a piece and try it? I’ve never tried your workmanship before.”

“You’re so evil! This stuff is from monsters,” Water Fairy said with disgust.

“It’s just something exotic. If you don’t want to eat it then don’t eat it. I heard it doesn’t taste that bad at all.”

Lu Li felt it was quite a shame that this girl of his wouldn’t actively go and make something for him to eat. Didn’t they say that the way to a man’s heart was through his stomach?

Water Fairy didn’t know what Lu Li was thinking about, otherwise, she definitely would have given him a Ghostclaw. Enough about stomachs – she would let her heart be clawed out.

After synthesizing eight large pieces of meat, they went to feed the dragon babies. They just had to put the meat on the ground and the dragons would come by themselves. Water Fairy was relatively interested in this, placing down a chunk of meat with great enthusiasm. She then kept her eyes on those drakes doing their dance in the sky, waiting for them to fly down to eat.

However, the little dragons only circled around in the sky honking and not coming down.

“Go back a few steps. These dragons haven’t grown up yet, so they’re even scared of people,” Lu Li reminded.

“I just wanted to pat them when they came down,” Water Fairy mumbled to herself.

“You can when they eat. Actually, Nether Dragons don’t really feel like much.”

Dragons as creatures weren’t like cats and dogs, which were furry and cuddly. Dragons had rough skin, and the Nether ones gave off a kind of cold feeling.

Water Fairy retreated a few steps. Finally, she saw a small dragon come down somewhat cautiously, stretching out an evil little claw.

And so in this way, they fed the drakes a few times. Lu Li and Water Fairy’s reputation had finally reached Neutral, even slowly crossing into friendly. This allowed them to continue the quests of the next stage.
