Soviet Purple protected himself against Moonlight’s Whirlwind.
Moonlight was among Dawn’s best Warriors, on par with other greats like Gaze, Elevenless, Sea Breaker and Deadly Gold Underpants. Gaze was best known for his Charge, Elevenless for his combos, Sea Breaker for his unstoppable Crowd Control and Deadly Gold Underpants for his bleed. For Moonlight, his most famous skill was Whirlwind.
Not only did it deal extremely high damage, but it was also very hard to avoid.
As Soviet Purple saw Moonlight approach, all her thoughts were focused on how she would deal with Whirlwind. She planned to hold onto her Blink skill until she was on low HP, but quickly realized that her opponent had no intention of using Whirlwind against her.
If she had worked this out earlier, she would have just used Blink, but now, she just looked like a fool.
When Soviet Purple was eliminated, Moonlight still had 85% HP.
The third player from Floating Clouds was the Druid Wildcat.
Wildcat’s Defence was higher than that of Soviet Purple’s, but his damage was vastly inferior. He and Moonlight fought fiercely for ten minutes, but Moonlight’s HP barely fell below 50%.
Just as he wanted to change forms to regenerate his HP, Moonlight suddenly aggressively swung his left hand and cast a crowd-control skill, followed by a powerful burst skill. This rendered Wildcat completely powerless.
Just like that, Kitty Likes Meat and only half of Moonlight managed to defeat three of Floating Cloud’s three star players.
After their stars had been defeated, the remaining two Floating Cloud players didn’t stand a chance. Even if they tired themselves out, they still wouldn’t be able to defeat Moonlight. As such, Ruling Sword gained five points while Floating Cloud only gained one.
If Ruling Sword had sent Fat Monkey out in the second round, the result probably would have been different.
At the very least, Fat Monkey wouldn’t have been able to defeat Wildcat. There was no doubt about that.
"What a pity; Floating Cloud has lost the duel," Rainy commented, voicing the disappointment of the audience. There was something embedded in human nature that made people root for the underdog. Many players had actually hoped that Floating Cloud would overcome Ruling Sword.
Although most were indifferent at first, after they realized that they had lost an opportunity to make some money, they became frustrated.
"In fact, Floating Cloud has done quite well, but they ran into Moonlight. Ruling Sword has one of Dawn’s strongest Warriors and Thieves, so this was a reasonable outcome," Pure White Season said.
The case for the strongest Warrior and Thief was obvious, while for Mages, Sorrowless was considered to be at the top, followed by Unforgettable Maple and Lucky Southern Persian. The strongest Priest was considered to be Stellar Union Silver Radiant’s Wendelian, followed by Star Baby, Full-time Assistant, White Westhill, then March Rain. For Shamans, Empty was ranked the highest, while Innocent Child was the most powerful Druid and Green Flag Wine the most powerful Paladin. The top Warlock was undoubtedly Hornet’s Nest, while for Hunters, this title could arguably be given to either Hot Twitch or Tracer. These were all the current top players.
With all things considered, Ruling Sword didn’t actually have that many top players.
In fact, this was also the same for the truly dominant guilds. Blood Red War Flag had Wild, Scandalous and Jade Flower Lover, while Glory Capital had Sorrowless, White Westhill and Blood Dagger.
"I am afraid that Floating Cloud will have no chance in the team battle," Rainy sighed.
He was speaking the truth. When Floating Cloud saw the lineup of Ruling Sword, they realized they needed a miracle to win. They had to face Lu Li, Fat Monkey, Kitty Likes Meat, March Rain and Sakura Memories.
If not for Moonlight taking a rest, the situation would have been even more desperate.
In an office building in Jinling City, a middle-aged man with black-rimmed glasses was sitting on a huge office chair, watching the scene projected onto the wall.
There was s secretary standing next to him who was nervously introducing the characters on-screen to him. It seemed like they didn’t know much about the gaming circles and had gathered this information in the last minute.
"This person is called March Rain..." the secretary said as he looked down at his folder.
"She looks like a gentle girl. What’s her relationship with the boy?" the middle-aged man asked as he lifted his hand and interrupted the secretary. He wasn’t interested in March Rain’s experiences.
"She’s just a friend," the secretary answered with uncertainty, then added, "She and her brother had partnered with Lu Li to complete an Instance Dungeon quite early on in the game."
"Oh, oka. Continue," the man said with a frown, as though he was unsatisfied with something the secretary had said.
"This is Kitty Likes Meat. She and Lu Li don’t really have a prior relationship. She had recently joined Ruling Sword and wasn’t a professional player before. After the competition system changed, Lu Li headhunted her," the secretary said as he pointed to the next person on-screen.
Even though he had worked with this man for many years, he still didn’t understand his mind.
Unless the live video of the game was broadcasted, people outside the game wouldn’t be able to view the matches. The secretary had done a lot of work to make this happen.
His boss had suddenly asked to watch the game this morning and seemed particularly interested in this Ruling Sword.
He was just secretary, not a god. How was he supposed to collect enough information in such a short period of time? His heart was beating quickly, but his voice remained steady and respectful.
"Sakura Memories... is also a girl. Most of this team is made up of girls," the middle-aged man said as his brows wrinkled so much that they could crush a fly.
"Boss, from a business perspective, female players are more popular. Ruling Sword’s well-known female players are all very skilled..."
The secretary thought that his boss wanted to use this guild to endorse a product or invest into. However, after speaking, he saw that his face had become even colder.
"What good can come of so many women? I don’t like this Lu Li character," the middle-aged man shouted as he suddenly pounded the table.
"You’re right Boss," the secretary quickly agreed after jumping in shock.
"Go back and gather more information. Look at the possibility of buying Ruling Sword," the middle-aged man instructed slowly after a moment’s silence.
"Alright Boss. I will talk to the people from the Ministry of Commerce."
The secretary was now even more confused.
Why would he scold Lu Li but also decide to purchase Ruling Sword? This was quite contradictory. Didn’t he know that the young lady had already done great things in the game? Why would he want to spend money on buying Ruling Sword?
