Chapter 912 Soul Stone

Chapter 912 Soul Stone

Lu Li activated his shoes and appeared behind the Boss; March Rain was able to heal him in time.

Azure Sea Breeze then rushed over and drew aggro, forcing the Boss to unwillingly turn his attention towards him.

This stage was quite dangerous because it was very hard to tell who the Boss would aggro onto. Not everyone had skills and actives that allowed them to kite the Boss like Lu Li, nor defensive abilities like Azure Sea Breeze.

When Malor casted another wave of Dark Bolt Volley, March Rain was already on low HP and was killed because the skill had Critically Hit her twice. Unfortunately, as soon as she was revived, the Boss casted another wave of AoE skills and wiped them completely.

As they continued to reattempt the Boss, they were able to read his patterns and advance further. After being wiped two more times and on their fourth attempt, they finally reached the last stage of the Boss fight.

During the last stage, Malor began using another AOE skill called Head Crack, where he smashed the ground multiple times with a hammer. This dealt a considerable amount of damage and stunned everyone for 5 seconds of complete horror and helplessness.

While they were stunned, Malor decided to give up on attacking the annoying Main Tank and focus on the squishy Warlock instead. Poor Sesame Rice Ball could not move and was killed within a few hits.

"Azure, remember to use your badge next time to cleanse the stun. You need to improve your reaction time," Lu Li reminded, then instructed Hachi Chan to revive Rice Ball.

"How was I supposed to know he was going to do that?" Azure Sea Breeze asked, feeling wronged.

"The Boss only has around 10,000 HP left; let’s take advantage of this run and finish him off once and for all."

Since there were stronger Bosses waiting for them later, Lu Li decided not to transform into a Worgen. However, he had plenty of other tricks up his sleeve to deal damage since DPS was his forte.

Malor sighed and collapsed onto the ground.

"Check out his loot. He better drop something good because he was such a difficult Boss."

The Main Tanks and Healers were exhausted, but this was just another normal Boss fight for the DPS classes.

Lu Li did not have his hopes up because Commander Malor was infamous for his terrible loot. The other Bosses would drop Dark Gold equipment most of the time in Nightmare mode, but they would be lucky if Malor even dropped a Gold item. Lu Li wouldn’t even be surprised if he dropped two Silver pieces.

"I can’t believe it’s Silver..."

As expected, Remnant Dream pulled out a Silver grade equip.

"We pour our blood, sweat and tears into this fight and get nothing out of it. We tried so hard in the previous Bosses and got nothing much either. Scarlet dungeons have such terrible loot..."

Everyone was disappointed by the loot and wondered how much worse it would be if they had been playing on Elite mode instead of Nightmare.

"Hurry up – we’ve still got two more Bosses to go," Lu Li said.

There was no point in complaining because it wouldn’t change anything. Rather than wasting time, Lu Li thought it would be much more beneficial for them to finish the First Clear as soon as possible and receive the rewards.

"Skill Book, Soul Stone..."

"What? Soul Stone? Are you serious?" Lu Li was surprised and thought he had heard incorrectly.

Although the Skill Book drop rate was quite random, the rare Skill Books only dropped from higher level Bosses. Commander Malor shouldn’t have been dropping Skill Books of such rarity.

Soul Stone wasn’t a powerful skill that could wipe out an entire enemy party; it wasn’t even an ultimate skill.

Soul Stone, Instant Cast. Uses 5% Mana to store the soul of the target party or raid member, allowing resurrection upon death. 20-minute duration, target resurrects with 60% HP and 20% mana. Cooldown 2 minutes when out of battle. Can only be casted on a single player.

It didn’t matter how much mana it used up because this was a skill that was used prior to battle.

Warlocks could bind the soul of a player into the Stone and if they were killed, they would be resurrected immediately with 60% HP and 20% mana.

A cooldown of 2 minutes when out of battle meant that the skill’s cooldown did not expire during a battle. Similar to the Druid’s Battle Resurrection, it could only be used once per fight.

However, it could only target a single player, preventing Warlocks from resurrecting multiple players at once.

If it weren’t for that limitation, Warlocks could easily bind 5 players in the span of 10 minutes, giving an entire party a second chance if they were to make a mistake.

This was undoubtedly a useful skill and while it might not have been as rare as Sesame Rice Ball’s Ritual of Summoning, it was far more practical and would be a very useful addition to their dungeon runs.

Sesame Rice Balls learnt the skill and transferred a large sum of Gold to Remnant Dreams as thanks.

After this, they arrived at the Scarlet Archives where a Boss named Instructor Galford awaited them.

Galford used to be an archivist who looked after important Scarlet Crusade documents. He saw it as an honorable job, but had to watch in horror as his precious documents and archives were burned to ashes. Balnazzar used this painful memory and enslaved him into an eternally vengeful and hateful being, waiting to unleash his wrath upon anyone who came here again.

Because of the despair and hopelessness, the Mage was driven to insanity.

When Lu Li was doing the Love and Family quest, he had Stealthed in here alone and was afraid to even look at him. He had only narrowly escaped because he summoned Silly Husky with the Book of Ur.

Speaking of Silly Husky, Lu Li realized he had yet to summon him today.

Silly Husky was let out.

He examined his surroundings and almost peed himself.

"Wait... let me back in! Let me back in! I don’t want to mess with that Mage anymore. Master, please, I beg you. Let me go back this time," he pleaded.

He had previously been summoned with the Book of Ur to distract the Mage, and was left traumatized from that experience.

Everyone: "..."

What a useless summon – he had only just come out and was already complaining.

Remnant Dream used to be envious of Lu Li’s talking pet, but now that she had met him, she didn’t even want him anymore.

"Calm down, calm down – we’re going to kill the Mage later. I was thinking that you could join us so that you can take revenge for what he did to you the last time," Lu Li said. He never intended on using him as bait again.

"Goddammit, you scared me. I’ll beat him up for sure this time!" Silly Husky declared arrogantly.
