Chapter 922 The Calling From Afar
Chapter 922 The Calling From Afar
Perhaps most would think that these summoned skeletons were weak, but only Lu Li knew their true strength. At the very least, they weren’t as weak as what the majority thought.
These summoned skeletons were the same level as their users, so March Rain, who was level 47, would summon level 47 skeletons. As the level increased, so would their Health, Attack and Movement Speed.
Additionally, these skeletons had their own skills.
Prior to level 50, they came with a skill called Swat. This dealt a little more damage to the target than an average auto attack, and also came with a chance of stunning. Although the individual chances of stunning weren’t high, with four skeletons combined, a Stun was almost guaranteed.
The Book of Dead summoned one skeleton per minute and each lasted for five minutes. The time frame was specifically designed so that the summoned skeletons wouldn’t disappear just because a new one was summoned. It would exist until the duration expired or until it was killed.
This meant that March Rain would be able to keep at least four skeletons by her side at all times.
There was also an extension to this effect – not only did these skeletons have their own skills, but they also learned new skills as they levelled up.
Once a Priest obtained this equip, they would instantly shift from a helpless character to a class with a surprising amount of combat ability.
The ability to continuously summon skeletons was one of the reasons that the players went crazy over this item.
Unfortunately, Legendary items were too hard to obtain. Lu Li had never heard of a second person who had this item. After all, it would take a First Clear or a new record for there to be a chance of dropping a Legendary item.
"It’s a shame I’ve got no main weapon," March Rain sighed as she took off her staff and equipped the Book of Dead.
Staffs were two-hand equips and could not be used at the same time as an off-hand weapon. In the circumstance where a Priest wanted to equip an off-hand weapon, they could only choose a hammer or a dagger. With such an exquisite off-hand, she would need a strong main weapon to pair with it.
"Well aren’t you a hard one to satisfy. I"ll look around in the guild dungeon later. Just this off-hand weapon alone is better than your staff," Lu Li said.
"Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to help you find an exquisite main-hand equip," Lonesome Flower promised. He was probably the only one amongst all of them who was entirely happy that his sister jad obtained such an exquisite item.
"Dreamy, I’ll give you a red packet later."
By later, she meant that the gold coins in her bag weren’t enough to express her gratitude.
"March, don’t worry about it – I have a lot of gold coins now, more than enough. I haven’t even thanked you for making my bag. If you keep bringing up gold coins, I’m going to get angry."
Although everyone often claimed that Remnant Dream was hungry for money, in reality, she couldn’t quite grasp its value yet.
A few bags, a legendary item, one thousand gold coins, a valuable mount – as long as she felt like they were of the same value, it wasn’t a problem for her at all.
After she managed to turn down March Rain, Remnant Dream bent down again to continue looting.
"Wow!"
Lu Li felt his heart race; it was almost about to burst.
"March, this one is yours again. Take a guess as to what it is!" Remnant Dream was ecstatic; she wasn’t disappointed at all that these weren’t her equips. She was a simple girl, holding onto a Dagger as she asked if March Rain knew what had dropped.
Gift of the Elven Magi, Dark Gold grade – this was a magic class weapon with strong special effects.
One of the special effects was extraordinary – it allowed its user to store a skill that had to be used within half an hour. However, this skill didn’t take up cooldown time or Mana, so it was effective for both PVE and PVP.
Now that she had both off-hand and main-hand equipment, March Rain’s equipment quality was instantly elevated. If it wasn’t for the fact that Lu Li had the Supreme Ring, he couldn’t even say that his were better.
Lu Li had already wanted to change his weapon – although his current one was good, it was a little under-leveled.
However, after the battle against Balnazzar, he changed his mind.
The last hit for Balnazzar was no accident – it was the third special effect of Shards of the Defiler, Fatal Strike. When the target’s HP dropped below 20%, there was a chance of killing them instantly. The advantage of this effect wasn’t too obvious against average monsters, but it made a big difference when it came to Bosses. It could possibly decide whether the battle concluded in victory or defeat.
In his previous life, he had already heard of some possible routes to upgrade the Shard of the Defiler. Lu Li decided that he would pursue this if he had some spare time.
If only he could increase the chances of success...
"Grand Crusader’s Helm, Dark Gold Plated equipment. Who wants it?" Remnant Dream asked, looking obviously disappointed.
"I don’t want it," Wandering declined without the slightest hesitation.
"Don’t tell me this is a Legendary helmet," Azure Sea Breeze said as he reached out his hand to touch Wandering’s head. Not only was Wandering’s helmet very powerful, but it also had an eye-catching style.
"Nope, but not far from it either."
Wandering tried to act humble, but he really couldn’t keep his face straight at all.
If Wandering didn’t want it, then it would be given to Azure Sea Breeze. Although this equipment wasn’t as exquisite as the previous two, it was still a level 50 Dark Gold grade. Just the Armor stats alone were good enough for Azure Sea Breeze to take it, let alone the two damage-reduction special effects.
"Wyrmtongue Shoulders, Gold Leather Armor, Lu Li, do you want it?" Remnant Dream asked as she displayed its Attributes.
Lu Li shook his head, clearly uninterested.
Although his equips right now were also Gold grade, they were part of the Voodoo set. These average Gold items didn’t interest him at all, even if they were level 50.
Remnant Dream shrugged her shoulders and tossed the item into her bag to be thrown into guild storage later. Then, she bent over and pulled out a Recipe.
"Recipe: Flask of Distilled Wisdom."
"Good stuff. Give it to Rice Ball," Lu Li said, quite satisfied with this outcome.
Flask of Distilled Wisdom: Increases maximum Mana by 2000 points, lasts for 2 hours. This effect is a unique buff effect.
The effect was useful, but the materials were slightly more expensive. An ordinary player certainly would not be able to afford it. However, the Xin Xin Mercenary Group was not limited by money, and they bore the weight of exploring dungeons on their shoulders, so these kinds of investments were definitely necessary.
From now on, the magic classes from Ruling Sword would be able to drink one each time before they attempted a major Boss.
The last two items included a rare material and a Synthetic Stone. At last, the Stratholme dungeon finally came to its end.
After they returned to the city, Lu Li felt himself being summoned before he even had a chance to repair his equipment. This power source was gentle, pulling him bit by bit from the main city towards another unknown place.
Lu Li blinked his eyes in confusion; who was it that was calling for him?
