Chapter 951: Generosity

Being level 50 Dark Gold gun, this was already a decent weapon. But of course, the drop rate for it wasn’t high at all. When Lu Li first entered the game, everyone knew that these Undead Trolls in Zul’Mashar dropped a Dark Gold recipe, but no one tried to earn money with it.
The reason was simple – the drop rates were way too low.
Water Fairy was too lucky to obtain this recipe by just killing one monster. Even if they obtained nothing from the treasure chest, it wouldn’t be a day wasted at all.
Besides the low drop rate, the expensive materials required were another part of the reason.
Just a single gun alone would cost about 300 gold to make, and this was only the price of production. The materials for this recipe weren’t common and if a player wanted to make one as soon as possible, they would have to add money on top to purchase them.
Lastly, this recipe needed an extremely high Engineering level, so Lu Li would have to spend some time upgrading his skills again.
Without any prior relationship, there was no way a master would make an equip for you for free. Hence, they would take a commission for the production. The less competition amongst these masters, the more expensive the production fee was. Sometimes these fees would be even higher than the value of the item itself.
In this way, Trade Skill players still had a future for themselves. Players were capable of earning money as long as they reached a certain level in a particular aspect of the game.
“Found it – it’s a very old box. It’s probably been a long time already since the owner has locked it.”
Water Fairy doubted if she needed to use the key for the treasure chest; she could probably break it with a kick.
“Open it, and look out for ambushes,” Lu Li said, not bothering to fly around anymore. He also headed towards the location of the treasure chest.
“No one would dare to challenge me,” Water Fairy said as she took a breath in and reached her hands into the chest that had been unlocked. She was right – unless it was a great temptation, most people really wouldn’t try to upset her.
They would much rather make an enemy of Sorrowless over Water Fairy.
This was because Water Fairy was a woman, and was no saint either. If you upset her, she would definitely chase you to the ends of the Earth.
At the same time, most women weren’t rational at all. They didn’t care as much about the cost or gain of their actions and would do anything for revenge.
Lu Li circled in the air above Water Fairy as he reminded her, “Incoming – run as soon as you get the items.”
“This is a bit too easy. Next time something like this occurs, make sure to call me,” Water Fairy said as she grabbed the items and immediately went into Stealth. She then returned to the city to share the loot with Lu Li.
“Damn, we can’t refresh his coordinates anymore,” the treasure bandits cursed.
“******, when did he even come down to get the chest? Did anyone catch his coordinates when he landed?” They still couldn’t figure it out.
“Was the chest in the sky? What the *****.”
“I don’t care what he got; I just want to know how he got it. Lu Li is really strange.”
The pack of players who usually battled against each other had all laid down their conflicts at this point. They all shared a strange confusion.
“We saw Water Fairy...” someone added. Water Fairy wasn’t hiding, and there were more than a few who had seen her.
“Why didn’t you say so earlier? Can you still see her now? Give us the coordinates...”
“Coordinates please!”
“Same!”
“And you’re all still thinking about seeing a beauty! Did the damn couple work together? Doesn’t that make treasure hunting way too easy? Think about it – in the future when everyone has a flying mount, will we still have a career?”
“The damn couple is playing dirty; they’re leaving nothing behind for us!”
However, their anger had absolutely no impact at all on Lu Li and Water Fairy. They were both Thief classes who came and went as they pleased. Not to mention, neither of them were average players – both of them had a horde of underlings waiting for their command to kill.
“There’s a total of six items. This treasure chest is pretty good,” Water Fairy said happily.
“Do you want this bow?” Lu Li took out a weapon and asked Water Fairy.
“No,” Water Fairy shook her head, she was eyeing something else as she waited for Lu Li to ask her about the item. Lu Li thought that kind of burning passion in her eyes was kind of cute.
This was actually a Dark Gold bow with decent Attributes’ it was even better than the Flawless Arcanite Rifle for a Hunter.
“A chainmail...”
“No, no, hurry up...” Water Fairy was becoming impatient.
“Rare material...”
“Are you doing this on purpose? I want that piece of clothing!” Water Fairy demanded.
This piece of clothing wasn’t an exquisite equipment. In fact, it didn’t even come with any Attributes. It was more of a fashion accessory.
Although this was a virtual reality, not everything was in sync with the real world. For example, a tailor could probably make any clothes easily in the real world; the only difference was in terms of quality.
However, this was a different story in the game.
Without a recipe, even the best tailor wouldn’t be able to make anything.
For this very reason, good-looking fashion accessories were quite expensive. The piece of clothing that Water Fairy was interested in was a formal dress. It could probably win an award from a fashion show in real life.
“Hold on to it. Do you want anything else?” Lu Li really couldn’t turn her down. Although he couldn’t wear the dress, his sister could.
“No, just this alone is worth it,” Water Fairy said as she changed into her new clothes in a hurry. It seemed like she didn’t realize she was getting changed in front of a man. However, the changing process was only just a concept in the game; no one couldn’t actually see anything.
“Two equips, two materials, and a skill book. If you don’t want any of them, then I’m taking them all,” Lu Li said as he looked at her new dress speechlessly.
He never really understood why these kind of things were valuable in the first place. However, Water Fairy did in fact, look prettier in her new dress. The difference between a grey armor and a pure white formal dress was quite visible.
“Mhm.” Water Fairy was still busy studying her dress’ intricate details.
“Then, I’m off. Thank you for today.”
In all honesty, he could’ve found anyone else in his guild to accomplish Water Fairy’s task.
“Goodbye. Make sure to call me next time you have something like this,” Water Fairy said, then made a threatening expression. “I always call you when I have a quest, but you’ve never done the same. You have to be generous as a person.”
“Of course, of course,” Lu Li said sincerely.
Then, he moved his attention back to his loot. Although he said that he definitely would be generous, he was just talking to get by.
Both the Hunter equips were good; he could toss them into the guild storage. The two rare materials were both usable for Flawless Arcanite Rifle. With these two materials, he would only needed to purchase a few more materials to make two Flawless Arcanite Rifles.
The reason why he wasn’t being generous was because of the skill book.
