Chapter 968: One Boss After Another

With the help of Haggle, the first Boss quickly dropped to below 50% HP. Although the Boss managed to take down a few players with him, the Main Tanks and Healers were all going strong.

At this very moment, O’Brien decided to call for backup.

Another Rockjaw Monster appeared. This time, it was slightly smaller than the first, but it had a very unique body.

The first Boss was like a rugged tradesman while this one was like a rich man.

His weapon of choice was a seemingly expensive staff with a large jewel at the end of it. The rest of the staff was embroidered with various rare stones. He wore a stylish golden robe, unlike the other Rockjaws who had torn up rugs to cover themselves up with.

His name was High Priest Rockjaw Elfin

As soon as he appeared, a bright light shone from his staff and he immediately healed O’Brien for 20% of his HP. A few Thieves attempted to interrupt him with Kick, but their efforts were futile.

Ruling Sword’s second tank was World’s Best Friend. His gear was on par with Azure Sea Breeze, but he was almost instantly killed.

“Switch Aggro! God Of Destiny, go aggro O’Brien. Deep Watersong, go and draw the aggro of Elfin. World’s Best Friend, once you’re healed up go and take the aggro of O’Brien again.”

World’s Best Friend was more of a physical damage tank and would have no problem tanking O’Brien.

After Lu Li’s orders were given, the DPS players who were attacking O’Brien stopped so that the Main Tanks had time to switch aggro. Deep Watersong was able to switch aggro onto High Priest Rockjaw Elfin while World’s Best Friend switched with God of Destiny.

God of Destiny was better at pulling large amounts of weaker mobs, while Deepwater Song would have no problem tanking High Priest Elfin. However, he was currently more worried about the cooldown of the healing skill and how often he could use it.

Additionally, he wasn’t sure whether they had to wait for the third Boss to spawn and kill all three at once.

This was the Wild and there was no time for him to test this. He didn’t have knowledge of these Bosses from his past life, so he was making calls based on his own knowledge and instincts alone.

The Strategy Unit from both guilds were in deep debate about how to approach these Bosses. They were frantically researching into the lore of these Rockjaw monsters, giving Lu Li a lot more information to work with.

“Play safe. Healers, keep note of the HP of your members in your respective parties and minimize casualties. Azure Sea Breeze, prepare to tank the third Boss when it spawns,” Lu Li instructed as he watched the HP of the two Bosses drop at the same rate and began preparing for the next Boss to come.

If you factored out his overpowered and annoying healing skill, Elfin was actually easier than O’Brien to defeat.

His attacks were very flashy, especially his Chain Lightning Skill that was able to reach even the ranged DPS classes who were standing very far away.

Because the area of effect on his Chain Lightning was so large, it’s damage wasn’t as high. As such, there wasn’t a very high chance of Elfin insta-killing someone.

However, because O’Brien was Lv55 and Enraged, the squishy melee classes were having trouble staying alive.

There were quite a number of Druids with Resurrect that had come on this expedition, but there was no way they could save everyone that was dying. To avoid losing any more players, Lu Li was forced to reposition them, instructing more melee DPS classes to focus on High Priest Rockjaw Elfin or clear out the smaller mobs instead.

There were more casualties at O’Brien, but the players in charge of clearing out the small mobs had the most pressure on them. There were thousands upon thousands of Lv50 mobs that were swarming towards them endlessly.

“Bring some more people here!”

Square Root Three immediately recommended some Elite members to provide some relief for their struggling teammates.

Lu Li nodded and told the Warlocks to summon more people to this area.

The rest of the gaming community knew about the commotion that Ruling Swords and Drizzle Court were making. They were aware that they had organized a large-scale expedition involving more than a thousand players, but they weren’t exactly sure what they were there for.

The thought of two makpr Guilds working together to defeat something sparked a lot of curiosity from the rest of the gaming community. However, there was no way they were finding out unless they became members.

It was very difficult to be accepted into a Major Guild. Drizzle Court, for example, had several sub-guilds under them because they had reached the limit.

As for Ruling Sword, because of the end of year financial difficulties, Lu Li and Square Root Three agreed to limit new recruits for now.

Lu Li would ignore the guild requests but Square Root Three still looked through them from time to time.

Elfin suddenly casted an AoE ultimate Skill.

“Druids cast Tranquility and healers, use your AoE heals to keep everyone alive. The third Boss will probably come out soon.”

Hachi Chan’s enhanced Tranquility was quite reassuring to the DPS players as it was extremely powerful.

Lu Li was right; the Third Boss appeared when Elfin’s HP dropped below 50%.

He was a stone man, like the statues of the Titans.

The Third Boss had a much cooler entrance than the two previous Bosses. It jumped up into the air and landed right in the middle of the battlefield.

However, Lu Li had underestimated the effects of this.

Everyone in the vicinity was sent flying, including Azure Sea Breeze who was waiting to draw aggro.
