Hachi Chan was furious and almost wanted to bite Lu Li. She became determined to learn how to fly and level up her dragon until it was strong enough to defeat Lu Li.
Lu Li investigated the small cave, confirmed that there were no monsters hiding around and carefully approached the chest.
The box was locked and according to the quest descriptions, the key could be obtained through the monsters in the Instance Dungeon. However, an Elite or better Dungeon Scroll was required to enter the Uldaman dungeon.
Lu Li could avoid all that trouble because he was a Thief with high-level lockpicking.
He casted Unlock and quickly opened the chest, revealing the tablet inside.
There was a cooldown on the respawn timer of the chest. Powerful mercenary groups would often take over this area in order to charge players entry fees. However, Major Guilds would always be stronger and have more manpower than mercenary groups, so they would usually wipe them out if they dared to get in their way.
Unlike other chests, this one only contained the quest item and nothing else. Otherwise, the mercenary groups would exploit this and continuously open the chest for some quick profit.
They brought the tablet back to Theldurin, but they encountered another problem.
Theldurin the Lost scratched the hairs on his head and was sweating profusely as he apologised to Hachi Chan, “I wish I had concentrated more in ancient history instead of always wanting to have fun. I know very little about ancient literature – otherwise, I would decipher this for you.”
Lu Li and the others were speechless. After all this time and effort, this scumbag didn’t even know how to read the tablet.
Fortunately, Theldurin knew exactly who to go to for these type of problems. He had quite a good relationship with who he had in mind and Theldurin was confident that he would help them out.
Gerrig Bonegrip in Ironforge was not a person that everyone got along with. As his name suggested, he was a rugged man, and wouldn’t even waver even if a cute girl like Hachi Chan were to ask him for a favor.
However, according to Theldurin, they had sat next to each other when they were still students in Ironforge. He was like a brother to him and they would often sleep together on the same bunk.
It turned out that Theldurin wasn’t lying. Lu Li and the others arrived and gave Gerrig a Doomsayer’s Robe. He immediately teared up and said, “I thought he had been long dead. He left and went on to worship the Old Gods.”
“Uncle Theldurin is no longer a Twilight Disciple,” Hachi Chan replied.
“Apparently, he, Lucien Tosselwrench and Martek the Exiled realized the dangers and stupidity of the Twilight Disciples and decided to kill those that tried to control them. They escaped and have since been sworn enemies of the Twilight Cult. The three now reside in the Barrenlands and have made quite a name for themselves,” Lu Li explained. He sounded quite sincere, so Gerrig decided to believe their explanation.
“The Tablet of Ryun’eh is quite easy to decipher. It tells a lot, but not enough, not nearly enough!” Gerrig sighed then continued, “If you want me to read it fully, I need you to bring something to me.”
This was the next stage of the quest.
According to Gerrig, Lu Li and the others had to travel to an Ogre Castle located in central Hillsbrad Hill, south of the Alterac Mountains and the bordering Horde territory.
In order to save some time, Lu Li ordered the others to wait in a secluded place, opting to only bring Hachi Chan into the Ogre Castle. He found the target he was supposed to kill – Grel’borg the Miser.
Gerrig was after an item called the Star of Xil’yeh.
However, since Grel’borg was known as a miser, he wouldn’t give it up so easily without putting up a fight.
The only way of obtaining the Star of Xil’yeh was by defeating him. However, there was a high chance that they would be swarmed by the Ogres in the castle mid-fight. Additionally, their location was quite close to Tarren Mill and they would be dead meat if they were discovered by the Horde players. As such, Lu Li decided to let Hachi Chan check out whether the quest item could be bought from the markets with gold.
“Ok!” Hachi Chan transformed into a cougar, but accidentally revealed herself next to the Ogre and had no choice but to use her sharp claws to fend against him.
At first, the Ogre was confused, but then became enraged and swung his large bat towards Hachi Chan.
Block!
Lu Li’s two daggers blocked his attack and as he ordered Hachi Chan to run. When Hachi Chan successfully escaped aggro-range, he created some distance between himself and the Miser.
There was nothing they could do but to kill him now. Lu Li called for backup and sent them his coordinates.
“I thought everyone who sees you falls in love with you,” Lu Li sarcastically quipped as he waited for his teammates to arrive.
“I meant players and NPCs, not monsters...” Hachi Chan felt bad.
His teammates soon arrived. but were followed by several Ogres behind them.
Out of these Ogres, some were Elite monsters while others were mini-Bosses. The biggest Boss was located deeper inside the castle and would not attack players unless he was provoked.
“Main Tank, control aggro. Everyone else, attack the Miser! We don’t have much time!” Lu Li yelled.
Since none of them could Stealth into the Ogre Castle, they most likely would ahve been spotted by Horde players when they entered. They needed to kill the Miser before any Horde players could arrive.
Grel’borg had 170,000HP so he wasn’t too difficult to defeat.
A party of twenty or so players only needed around five or six minutes to defeat him. However, this was assuming that the Horde players didn’t come and meddle with them. This was obviously impossible because as soon as Azure Sea Breeze and the rest of the team arrived, they could already hear the Horde players outside waiting for them.
As time passed by, more and more Horde players gathered outside the castle.
Between Tarren Mill and Southshore City, there was a massive war zone called the Ashenvale where Alliance and Horde players would come and PvP against one another.
As soon as they heard the news of Alliance Players entering the Ogre Castle, they acted like a swarm of sharks that smelled blood in the ocean.
“Mu Qiu, Moonlight and Tears, let’s go.”
Lu Li heard the battlecry outside, gave up on the Boss and brought a few teammates with him to secure the perimeter. The rest of the team stayed and continued to attack the Boss.
Her Tears was also included because he was a PVP enthusiast with top-tier gear.
When they exited out of the Miser’s room, they were faced with a small group of Horde players.
