Chapter 324 - The Purchase And The Mountains
Chapter 324 - The Purchase And The Mountains
Evan went upstairs, and a frightened Zaira immediately ran up to him.
"Master, what happened?" Zaira said anxiously. She was already used to seeing a three-eyed raven flying around the tower and a forty-foot-tall, black serpent sleeping next to the tower. But, she was not prepared for an attack from the outside. She thought someone had attacked them and was trying to destroy the tower.
"Nothing terrible happened. Just a little problem during training." Calmly Evan replied and walked out of the tower.
He walked over to Zith. At this time, the black serpent was sleeping, but it immediately woke up when it sensed Evan's aura. The serpent's blue eyes looked intently at Evan.
"Zith, throw me over there. I need to talk to the vampires about something." Said Evan pointing to a mountain in the distance.
The serpent nodded, and after a second, it wrapped its tail around Evan's body. Then he flung Evan toward the mountain like a projectile with all his might.
Evan was flying at tremendous speed, and when he reached the mountain, he would crash deep into it. But Evan knew how to prevent that.
His Warp spun, and two bloody, demonic wings emerged from his back. He flapped them several times, then landed in front of Darkfil.
A minute later, Evan was already sitting at the same table as Dorlus.
"Evan, you've already become a regular customer of mine, but where have you been for so long?" Dorlus asked.
For Evan, the past few months had gone by unnoticed. He had been training and learning his new spells. It didn't seem like more than a week to him, but the world didn't standstill. Everyone who cared had learned about the Glass Forest during that time, or rather what had happened there.
"I've been busy. Can you tell me what interesting happened at that time?" Evan asked. He was curious to know how the world reacted to the changes in the Glass Forest.
Naturally, no one knew that it was all Evan's fault, but because of the very fact of what had happened, many different things began to happen.
"A lot of things, but all that pales in comparison to what happened to half of the Glass Forest. You must have heard something about it, even if you were busy. Haven't you?" Smiling Dorlus said.
Evan nodded weakly and said, "Yes, but I haven't had time to look into it."
"We don't know exactly what happened there, but there are two possibilities. Either a natural cataclysm of unprecedented power occurred in the Glass Forest. Or it was caused by a battle between two powerful creatures of some kind. Mages, perhaps, monsters, perhaps. But regardless of the cause, half of the Glass Forest was changed forever."
"Half of a vast area has changed?" Evan asked with genuine disbelief.
"Yes, instead of crystal trees and rainbows, there is now a mixture of hell and apocalypse. There are crystals, dark hands, geysers, massive trees with glowing blue leaves, and lightning poles. There is nothing like it anywhere else in the kingdom. What's more, this new territory has been named - the Abode of Chaos." Dorlus said with eyes burning with interest.
"Abode of Chaos... not a bad name." Mumbled Evan, gradually realizing how much his actions had affected the entire kingdom. These thoughts made his blood begin to boil.
"What's more, right after that, the head of Merciful Death decided to attack one medium-caliber light organization. As a result, overnight, hundreds of light mages were brutally murdered, and their heads are now planted on branches of ash trees in the Abode of Chaos. She seems most pleased with such a change." Said Dorlus.
"Merciful Death live up to their reputation, but didn't anyone want to get back at them?" Asked Evan.
"Of course they did, but attacking Merciful Death is one of the greatest mistakes a light mage can ever make. This time, however, the patience of the light mages had come to an end. They gathered their strength and set out in pursuit of the head of Merciful Death. At that moment, she had not yet left the Abode of Chaos. However, when the light mages approached her, they felt a monstrous pressure. Their hearts nearly burst, but suddenly, one of the heads of the light organizations saved them."
"Yeah, I've been away for a while now, and so many exciting things have happened in the world. Okay, thanks for the story, but it's time to get down to business." Evan said calmly.
"Sure." Proclaimed Dorlus.
"I need materials to reinforce my tower, as well as manpower." Said Evan.
"This time, you chose to say the order in person rather than send your raven. How sturdy do you need materials? Your tower is pretty big. You're going to need quite a lot of material if you want to change the frame completely." Said Dorlus.
"Strong enough not to break from the shockwave of second level spells. I also need twice as much. I have a lot of rooms under the tower that need reinforcement as well." Evan answered quickly.
"I see. Three Summoners will have no problem handling your order in less than three days. But you'll have to shell out quite a bit of money for it. Eleven million gold coins, and we're even."
Evan nodded and extended his hand with the Spatial Ring forward. After Evan handed over the required amount, he headed back to the tower.
Dorlus, on the other hand, gave instructions to his subordinates and went to the main warehouse for supplies.
When Evan returned to the tower, he said, "Reykar!"
A purple raven instantly flew up to him. Evan said something to him, after which the raven flew up.
Evan used the Raven's Gaze and looked at the area around his tower from above. He could continue to learn spells in the training room or attack the dummy in melee. But, to use a long-range spell, he needed to find a new location.
<Hmm, Lightning Arrow of Darkness is a very powerful spell, but I'm about to learn another spell that will be even stronger. I need to pick a place that I don't mind destroying. Or I can make something useful out of some place with my attacks.> Evan thought, looking through Reykar's eyes at the bare mountains.
They were covered with a layer of snow, but there were no forests, glades, hills, or lakes around them. They were bare mountains that Evan could use for training.. Moreover, the holes and craters he would create he could use in the future.
