The basketball court erupted.

“Shit! Captain Yize, that’s not fair! You’re taking An Xiaxia’s side!”

“Who bet on An Xiaxia losing just then? Step out now! Mwahahahaha! That’s a sweet deal for me! You guys are buying me lunch for the rest of this term!”

“OMG. Captain Yize’s slam dunk was so awesome! Awww...”

Despite all the noise around them, An Xiaxia felt that the world had just gone very quiet. All she could see was the tall and stunning teenager standing before her.

She had never thought that... he would choose to help her in that way...

Her heart was thumping so hard as a strange feeling began to well up inside her...

Her cheeks soon turned pink, which was too pretty a sight to look away from.

Sheng Yize smiled mildly the entire time, while Qi Yanxi flared up.

“WTF! You two are in this together, aren’t you?!” He stomped his foot angrily.

An Xiaxia shook her head right away.

Sheng Yize snorted. “So what if we are?”

Qi Yanxi quietly replied with a middle finger.

“Now, what do you want us to do?” Sheng Yize asked sincerely.

Qi Yanxi swung around immediately and threatened, “Try anything humiliating on me and you’re dead!” He even waved a fist as he said that.

An Xiaxia came back to her senses. After summoning her courage, she said, “Qi Yanxi, I want you to join the basketball team and be Qixia’s main player!”

Qi Yanxi frowned. However, after a quick glance around, he realized all eyes were on him. His male ego got the better of him and he rubbed his nose, saying, “Sure thing.”

An Xiaxia was finally reassured. She then turned to Sheng Yize and after much hesitation, she said, “Sheng Yize, I need you to... stay out of the game.”

A hush fell over the crowd at her words.

Sheng Yize’s face was cold enough to give a person frostbite in an instant.

He helped her get the ball in the basket at the last minute and that was how she repaid him?

Scowling, he looked so intimidating that the temperature around him seemed to drop.

An Xiaxia stumbled back at his aura and lost her footing, tumbling to the floor.

Sheng Yize pursed his lips and stepped forward to help her up.

Her words then rang out in his head —

“I need you to... stay out of the game.”

He drew his hand back before he reached her.

The bell rang and the crowd scattered. As it was the last period of the day, all the students swarmed toward the school gate. Sheng Yize was no exception.

An Xiaxia’s heart skipped a beat as she watched him leave.

She scrambled to her feet and ran after him.

Sheng Yize ignored quite a few fangirls coming up to him for autographs and pictures and left through a side exit all by himself. Located in a remote corner, there was no one around that exit.

His car was waiting by the side of the road.

He walked toward it. An Xiaxia finally managed to catch up with him and tugged at the lower hem of his clothes. “Sheng Yize, what’s wrong...”

Sheng Yize threw off her hand with a stern look on his face. “My fellow classmate An Xiaxia, may I help you?”

An Xiaxia could tell right away from that nonchalant tone that he had to be angry...

“Are you mad at me?” An Xiaxia asked gingerly.

“No comment.” His cold and deep voice rejected An Xiaxia mercilessly.

An Xiaxia clenched her little fists. “Sheng Yize, I’m doing this for your sake! What if your injury flares up after you play in the game!”

Sheng Yize narrowed his eyes at her explanation. “An Xiaxia, do you know how dumb you are?!”

“So what?! Is that a crime? Did I kill anyone? Have I committed a crime?” An Xiaxia yelled back in vexation.

Sheng Yize, you fool! You big, flaunting fool!
