Thirty seconds later —

Everything quieted down outside.

An Xiaxia: ...

They had no idea what Song Shi had done, but he settled the conflict between the Li sisters right away. Rushing to their side of the balcony, Song Shi smiled inanely. “Why, Mr. Sheng, little sister, the morning is the most precious time of day. Why are you two up already? Shouldn’t you be working hard in bed?”

An Xiaxia blushed at his words, but Sheng Yize remained indifferent and gave Song Shi a sidelong glance. “Sit on the fence long enough and you’ll fall down eventually.”

Song Shi shrugged. “Whatever. Life is all about taking risks.”

“Heh.”

Sheng Yize made no comment.

Song Shi went back inside and was confronted by a red-eyed Li Fanxing. “Song Shi, what on earth do you think you’re doing?”

She had never been this humiliated in her life.

Share her husband with her sister? You have got to be kidding!

Before Song Shi could answer, Li Canxing cut him off. “Sister, Brother Song Shi and I are meant to be. Help us out here.”

“Help you out?!” Li Fanxing looked like she had just heard the funniest joke. “Song Shi! Give me an explanation!”

Song Shi smiled. “I’ll marry you, alright?”

“You mean it?”

“Of course.”

Seeing the frivolous look on his face, Li Fanxing immediately understood what he meant by that.

He was going to marry her... and carry on a relationship with Li Canxing?

Like hell she was going to let that happen!

She wouldn’t be putting herself through this if it weren’t for Song Shi’s title and the welfare of the Li family.

After they had finally gotten engaged, he was having a fling with her own sister...

A stern look flashed across Li Fanxing’s face at that thought. She smirked. “Right. Song Shi, are you making fun of me?”

Song Shi neither denied nor admitted it, but only smiled.

He had made fun of enough women as it was.

Li Fanxing wasn’t going to surrender without a fight. She rushed to the flat next door right away and played the pitiful girl in front of An Xiaxia. “Xiaxia, look what your brother is doing to me! You must be on my side!”

An Xiaxia had just finished changing and jumped at Li Fanxing’s sudden arrival. She let out a baffled cry and asked, “What about him?”

“We’re engaged. Shouldn’t he be loyal to me?” Li Fanxing asked in an aggressive tone.

Sheng Yize darted her a look. “If Miss Li isn’t happy about what’s going on, you can always call off the engagement. Why force yourself to stay?”

“That’s right.” An Xiaxia nodded.

Li Fanxing clenched her fists. Song Shi was the most ideal man she could find to marry. She couldn’t give him up just like that!

Li Fanxing darted an indecipherable look at Sheng Yize.

Why was it An Xiaxia who could marry him?

She should have been the one to be called Mrs. Sheng!

Sheng Yize’s black eyes flickered and he said, “Xiaxia, fetch me those files on the desk.”

“Sure.” An Xiaxia did as told.

After taking them from An Xiaxia, Sheng Yize flipped through a few pages in front of Li Fanxing.

Li Fanxing then caught sight of a familiar phone number.

She jolted and began to shiver uncontrollably.

But she did a great job of covering it up. Lowering her gaze, she said, “If that’s what you think, I have nothing to say.”

She walked out in her high heels and with her chin slightly raised, looking as haughty as ever.

Once outside, Li Fanxing glared at Li Canxing. “If I’m not getting that man, neither are you!”

Li Canxing snorted and held Song Shi’s arm, unwilling to back off.

Li Fanxing found her action an eyesore. Her phone began to ring at that moment.

Her father’s displeased voice came from the other end. “Why are you fighting with your sister over a man? It makes no difference which one of you marries into the Song family!”
