Chapter 313 Fierce Battle Against the Underworlder Army
Irithel selected the best archers among the elven warriors and told them to ride the Gryphons. As for the Shadow Guards, she told them to lead the march. She would only feel at ease with these experts at the vanguard. Although the Barbarian warriors were strong, there was still a huge gap between them and the Shadow Guards. Only their leader, Amishta, and a few Barbarian captains could be compared to the Shadow Guards.
"Miss Irithel, they are here!" An elven warrior reported in a grim voice.
Hearing this, Irithel turned her gaze to the elven warriors riding on top of the Gryphons and shouted. "Take down as many Underworlders as you can! Go!"
"Yes, Miss Irithel!" The elven warriors saluted before they urged the Gryphons to fly into the sky.
Meanwhile, the Barbarian warriors had already entered a defensive formation under Amishta's lead. "Archers, show those beasts what our Proud Tiger Tribe is capable of!"
A team of Barbarians holding longbows walked forward with ferocious gazes. They aimed their bows diagonally at the sky while waiting for Amishta's signal.
"Hold!" Amishta narrowed her eyes as she looked at the marching Underworlder army in the distance. They were still not in their range.
"Fire!" Amishta shouted when saw that the Underworlders were already within the range of their arrows.
Suu! Suu! Suu! Suu!
Thousands of bone arrows rained down from the sky.
The normal Underworlders screamed in agony as they collapsed onto the ground one after another.
Irithel was a bit surprised by the might of the Barbarians. The bone arrows they were using were actually smeared with lethal poison. The Underworlders' bodies might be strong, but they were not immune to the poison. Furthermore, the poison came from the Gigantic Desert Scorpion Kings!
Amishta smiled proudly when she saw this scene. "Good! Don't hesitate to use all the remaining bone arrows! We must not let those Underworlders get inside the camp! Fire!"
Suddenly, the mid stage Level 5 Underworlder shouted in a strange language. As soon as he gave the command, the Underworlder army immediately raised their shields. Meanwhile, a thousand Underworlders threw javelins with all their might!
Seeing this, Amishta snorted. "Archers, retreat! Shield bearers, move to the front!" She shouted.
The Barbarian archers quickly retreated after hearing her command and a group of large Barbarians holding massive iron shields move forward.
"Not bad." Irithel muttered when she saw this. Amishta was quite skilled in commanding her troops. She didn't have to worry for the time being. However, the ground suddenly trembled and a bad premonition rose in her heart. "What's going on?" She frowned.
An elven warrior who was riding a Gryphon descended. He jumped down from the Gryphon and spoke in a grave tone. "Miss Irithel, there is another a huge army of Underworlders coming towards us. Their numbers seem to be at least a hundred thousand! What should we do?"
"What?!" Irithel was stunned when she heard the report. "We can't retreat! If we retreat now, those Underworlders would soon reach the camp. Our people are still there! Go and kill as many enemies as you can! I'll lead the charge!"
The elven warrior nodded his head solemnly and jumped on top of the Gryphon.
"Shadow Guards, charge!" Irithel shouted before urging her Gryphon to fly.
Callon and the other Shadow Guards pulled out their weapons when they heard her command. They then charged fearlessly toward the Underworlders. Even if there were only a few of them, they weren't afraid.
Amishta also commanded the Barbarian warriors to charge when she saw this. She couldn't let them fight the Underworlder army alone. "Follow me!" She shouted.
Soon, the two armies collided!
Callon and the rest of the Shadow Guards tore through the formation of the Underworlders, killing hundreds of Underworlders in the process!
The high level Underworlders quickly tried to stop them after seeing the death of their comrades.
From time to time, a Gryphon would descend from the sky and grab an unsuspecting Underworlder, crashing them in their claws!
The intense fighting continued and both sides lost many of their soldiers.
Irithel even joined the fray and tried to minimize the casualties on their side, but the two Level 5 Underworlders blocked her path. "Dammit!" She cursed as she shook off the two creatures.
Soon, the reinforcements of the Underworlder army arrived and joined the battle, forcing Irithel's troops to retreat.
More and more warriors fell. There was even an unlucky Shadow Guard who was besieged by a hundred Underworlders. He was impaled by a hundred spears, killing him on the spot!
Seeing the death of their comrade, the Shadow Guards felt sorrow and rage. They wanted to retrieve the dead Shadow Guard's corpse, but it was already devoured by the vicious Underworlders.
"Die, beasts!" Callon's eyes turned red as he furiously charged through the gaps in the defenses. He ignored the weapons aimed at him as he slashed out his sword! He had already accepted his identity as a Shadow Guard and the death of his comrade agitated him.
"Callon, don't move out of the formation! Come back here!" One of the Shadow Guards shouted when he saw Callon breaking the encirclement.
Callon ignored their shouts and charged his way through the formation of the Underworlders. From the corner of his eyes, he saw his mother fighting four Level 5 Underworlders. The other two Level 5 warriors came from the reinforcements of the Underworlder army.
His mother might be strong, but he noticed that one of the Level 5 Underworlders she was fighting was a late stage Level 5 warrior. Furthermore, some Level 4 Underworlders would sneak attack her from time to time. "Scram!" He roared furiously.

"I hope I'm not too late." Albert felt a sense of foreboding as he got nearer to the location of the Proud Tiger Tribe's camp. He urged his Unicorn to fly faster, leaving behind the rest of the troops. "I'll go first! Head straight to the location!" He shouted to the troops.
