Chapter 513 - The Stubborn Head Of The Huang Family

"Whose daughter did you say she is?" Old Mr. Huang asked with a big frown on his face.

The first daughter smiled and walked over as she replied to her old man, "Father, this is Jia Li. She is Mr. Fu Hua's wife and she is Huang Li's daughter."

Hearing that name, 'Huang Li' infuriated the old man a lot. To him, his second daughter who ran away from home was the black sheep of the family and a total disgrace to his prestige, so hearing her name being mentioned, had a way of resetting his brain cells.

"I told you never to bring that girl to my house, so what is she doing here? Immediately send her away!" Old Mr. Huang said in a raised tone while pointing towards the entrance.

Jia Li who has heard stories of the Old Mr. Huang still couldn't believe her eyes after she saw his actions just now. And she concluded in her mind that there was no way she could live with him with that kind of personality she had. She felt her mother did the right thing by running away.

Fu Hua frowned at the old man's rudeness and was about to intervene when they all heard the aged male voice coming from the entrance, so they quickly turned their gazes towards the entrance.

"Mr. Huang, my granddaughter-in-law is not someone for you to drive away." Grandfather Fu said as he appeared before them with a smile. Butler Lu was seen walking closely beside him.

"General Fu?" Old Mr. Huang called out with a frown. He was truly surprised to see the old Major General in his house. He has no idea that he came with them.

Grandfather Fu did not stop smiling until he got to Jia Li's side. The rest of the Huang family members who were in the sitting room, greeted the old major General, respectfully.

"Mr. Huang, you can not throw my grandson and his wife away, at your will. They came to see the memories Huang Li left behind, so allow them to go in." Grandfather Fu said.

"But this is my house, I can decide who can come in and go out." Old Mr. Huang said.

Fu Hua's frown deepened, as Jia Li's hatred for the old man deepened further.

Grandfather Fu chuckled softly because he knew that the Patriarch of the Huang family was stubborn and wouldn't let them do what they wanted in his house.

"Mr. Huang, you are one stubborn person I know that has refused to change for good. How long do you think you have left on this earth for you to hold grudges for so many years? You are already so awa but you don't act like an elder. Do you think you can survive for a week if you drive everyone away?" Grandfather Fu asked.

Old Mr. Huang was annoyed that Grandfather Fu was teaching him. He was a man with so much pride in him, so how could he stand being lectured in front of his family?

"Old General, I appreciate your lectures but I still can not allow the child of that girl to step foot into my house. I should have burned her things a long time ago if I knew it would result in today's scenario."

Grandfather Fu immediately interjected, "Since you haven't burned them, allow my granddaughter to go and see the memories of her late mother, while we talk about her painful story."

As Grandfather Fu said that, Old Mrs. Huang asked Jia Li and Fu Hua to come with her to see Huang Li's things.

As Jia Li was leaving with Fu Hua and Old Lady Huang, she glanced at Grandfather Fu who winked at her.

"Don't worry about grandfather, he can deal with that old man." Fu Hua whispered to her ears before squeezing her palms to comfort her.

"Don't you want to know how your daughter, Huang Li died?" Grandfather Fu asked.

Old Mr. Huang rolled his eyes and went to sit on the couch. "I'm not interested because I don't have any daughter with that name."

Grandfather Fu smiled and went to sit on the same couch as him.

"Huang Li's life was cut short. She and her husband, Mr. Qin, were killed in their living room cruelly. How can a member of the Huang family die like that?" Grandfather Fu asked.

Old Mr. Huang looked vexed at the fact that Huang Li wouldn't have died like that if she had agreed to marry the person he arranged for her. Grandfather Fu seemed to have guessed his thoughts so he said to him, "Do not think like that. If Huang Li had married the man you had arranged for her back then, it's possible that she wouldn't have lived long either because peace of mind increases your life span."

"I don't see any meaning in this." Old Mr. Huang said.

"You can't see things differently with the same mindset you have. Your daughter, Huang Li raised a good daughter and the first time I saw her, I already had in mind to let her marry my first grandson because I saw the good in her. You may not have known that their marriage was arranged."

Old Mr. Huang looked shocked to learn that Grandfather Fu had participated in an arranged marriage before.

'Why is he speaking against an arranged marriage if he has arranged one for his grandson before?' He thought with a frown, as he didn't seem to understand him.

Grandfather Fu smiled and said, "Fu Hua is the only person I have arranged a marriage for because I saw deeply into his future. I raised him, I knew him inside and out and when I saw Jia Li, I knew they would make a perfect match, so I arranged their marriage against their wishes but today, they are happy together. But you, you arrange marriages based on the benefits you can get from that family, which is the wrong approach."

"Are you saying that you have more wisdom than me?" Old Mr. Huang asked with a frown. His pride has just been hurt.

"I didn't say that. I'm only saying that you used the wrong approach. I arranged my grandson's marriage for his benefit. Already I knew that any man Jia Li marries will be lucky but because I treated her like my grandchild, I wanted her to be a part of my family. I'm talking too much which is unlike me. Take things easy with your family, we are both very old and don't have much time on earth.." Grandfather Fu said.
