Chapter 159: Invitation By Director Li Shan

This sentence by Su Wan, which was not in the script, stunned the emcee. However, she had gone through many years of training and had the ability to act according to circumstances.

The emcee regained her senses during the applause and took Su Wan’s microphone. She smiled as she said, “I did not expect Ms. Su to be so affectionate with the young master. It’s really enviable. Best wishes to both of you!”

Su Wan smiled, showing her two shallow dimples. “Thank you.”

Then, Su Wan looked at Jiang Xuecheng who was staring at her. Although they were a distance away, there was a warmth flowing between them.

When the lighting technician saw this scene, he shone the spotlight on Jiang Xuecheng.

Jiang Xuecheng stood up gracefully, allowing people to look at him. He gazed at Su Wan steadily and the doting towards Su Wan was not deceiving.

He was usually cold but at that moment, he was smiling with tenderness.

Among the audience who were sitting, many had suspected Jiang Xuecheng and Su Wan’s marriage to be fake as the news of Jiang Xuecheng liking men had spread for many years.

However, at this moment, their initial thought had disappeared and they started to believe Jiang Xuecheng and Su Wan loved each other genuinely.

The sound of applause became more and more intense. Then, there were well wishes among the audience.

Everyone genuinely gave their blessings. After all, the difference between Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng seemed huge but when they were together, they were exceptionally well-matched.

This was the first time Su Wan heard this many people calling her name. She bashfully looked down and was about to get down from the stage.

Never had she expected Jiang Xuecheng to move all of a sudden. Su Wan was taken aback. So, she stood where she was.

Jiang Xuecheng walked up the stage. He seemed to have a natural spotlight on him, attracting everyone’s gaze.

Su Wan thought secretly that if Jiang Xuecheng were to enter the world of showbiz, she was afraid many in the industry would have to make way for him.

Jiang Xuecheng walked past the emcee toward Su Wan. His eyes were dark and attractive, just like the sky filled with stars.

The spotlight was directed on his face and a fuzzy silhouette was shown. Just then, Jiang Xuecheng stretched out his hand in a gentlemanly manner.

That instant, Su Wan felt like crying, not because she was sad but in that situation, there was warmth in her heart all of a sudden.

Su Wan suppressed her irresistible emotions and without hesitation, held Jiang Xuecheng’s hand.

Both of them gazed at one another and smiled. Without uttering a single word, both of them held hands and were ready to walk down the stage.

The emcee heard the audience’s uproar and blessings. Suddenly, she had an idea and so, asked daringly, “Young Master, Ms. Su, I’d like to ask on behalf of the audience about when you would both have your wedding ceremony? We would all like to attend.”

Su Wan blushed while Jiang Xuecheng glanced at Su Wan. He smiled as he held her hand tightly. “We’ve not confirmed. I’ll definitely inform everyone when we have.”

Then, Jiang Xuecheng held Su Wan’s hand and walked back to their seats.

The emcee smilingly nodded. After watching them leave the stage, she started to invite the guests up the stage.

The next persons who were invited up the stage were the lead actor and actress of Nirvana of Phoenix, Zheng Feng and Ye Siren. With the presence of these two celebrities, the audience’s gaze shifted away from Jiang Xuecheng and Su Wan.

After Su Wan returned to her seat, Jiang Xuecheng let go of her. Su Wan raised her head to look at him with a hesitant look. “Are we really going to have a wedding ceremony?”

Her marriage with Jiang Xuecheng was already known by the entire city. Many had given them blessings and well-wishes. To Su Wan, a wedding ceremony was only a formality. She was content with her current life with Jiang Xuecheng.

“Of course.” Jiang Xuecheng glanced at Su Wan. His lips curved up slightly and he said, “I’ll let you be the happiest bride in the world.”

Su Wan was stupefied when the low and magnetic voice entered her ears.

Every word of Jiang Xuecheng’s seemed to have an unquestionable power, making one trust him beyond one’s control.

Su Wan’s initial worries was slowly discarded. She blinked and answered softly, “Alright.”

Just when Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng were talking, a middle-aged man who was slightly plump walked towards them. He looked like an elegant and capable man in his mid-forties.

“Hello Young Master, Ms. Su.”

Su Wan turned her head upon hearing the greetings. When she saw the man she didn’t know, she smiled faintly as she answered, “Hello.”

Although she didn’t know who he was, basic manner was necessary.

The middle-aged man looked at Su Wan with narrowed eyes for a while. An amazement flashed through his eyes. Then, very quickly, he sat beside Jiang Xuecheng. They seemed to know one another.

Just as Su Wan was suspicious of his identity, she heard him telling Jiang Xuecheng, “Young Master, you have a good eye for people.”

Upon hearing this, Jiang Xuecheng lifted his eyelids and took a glance at the middle-aged man. His look was calm as he replied, “I’ve always had a good eye for people.”

The middle-aged man was not surprised at Jiang Xuecheng’s arrogance. He stared at Su Wan and examined her closely. The more he looked, the more he felt Su Wan was beautiful and charming.

Although there were many good-looking girls, Su Wan had a water-like temperament which was rare, making one wish to praise a southern beauty.

Moreover, he had seen this girl giving her speech on stage. There was approachability during her speech and when facing so many people, she did not have stage fright. She had great potential.

The more the middle-aged man thought, the stronger his urge. So, he couldn’t help asking, “Ms. Su, are you interested in changing your career?”

Change my career?

Su Wan was speechless. This was the first time she saw how a person head hunted in such manner. Luckily, her boss, Jiang Xuecheng, was sitting next to her!

Su Wan smiled awkwardly. Just as she was about to decline, the man beside her beat her to it.

“Wan Wan is not interested to enter the entertainment industry. You don’t have to waste your time.”

That deep and cold voice was very firm, without room for negotiation.

When she heard what Jiang Xuecheng said, Su Wan was stunned. Enter the entertainment industry?

Could the middle-aged man be...

When the middle-aged man saw Su Wan’s doubtful look, he knew Su Wan was guessing his identity.

He smiled slightly and he looked very confident as he said, “Young Master, why did you decide for her? Ms. Su, I’ve forgotten to introduce myself. I’m the director of Nirvana of Phoenix, Li Shan.”

The name Li Shan was like thunder in the entertainment industry. He had numerous productions. He was good at discovering the strengths of the actors and actresses and could help them sharpen their acting skills as quickly as possible.

Many celebrities hoped to get the favor of director Li Shan, even if it meant to start from a minor supporting role. After all, who wouldn’t want to be famous?
