Chapter 198: It’s Not Good To Keep Him Waiting
Jiang Xuecheng glanced at Su Wan lightly and started to explain to her.
“I’ve always had sharper hearing than most people. Sometimes I can even hear what people say from across the street.”
Upon hearing this, Su Wan examined Jiang Xuecheng’s flawless handsome face. Suddenly, there was envy in her eyes.
“I say, you’re too favored by the heavens!”
While patting Jiang Xuecheng’s back, Su Wan sighed. “I remember your ability to heal is good too. Back when I rescued you, the wound on your back was bleeding badly but in less than a week, there wasn’t even a scar left!”
Jiang Xuecheng brushed his sleeves casually to smoothen the creases. “What is there to envy? Doesn’t everyone say men with scars are manlier?”
Su Wan was speechless looking at Jiang Xuecheng’s indifferent look.
He didn’t like that he had good skin and healing ability but these were what many girls wanted but didn’t have. How nice would it be if he could give her all these? When Su Wan was young, she kept knocking into things. She even had a faint scar on her knee!
Jiang Xuecheng turned sideways to look at Su Wan with calm eyes.
“Alright. What did Grandmother tell you? She couldn’t have asked us to go back to the old mansion for dinner, could she?”
When Jiang Xuecheng’s firm voice entered her ears, Su Wan was taken aback for a moment and there was an admiration in her eyes.
This man was indeed very smart!
Su Wan took a deep breath and went forward to hold Jiang Xuecheng’s arm. “Congratulations, you’ve answered correctly! Let’s go to Zhao Hua Hospital quickly. It’ll be rude to keep Grandmother waiting.”
Jiang Xuecheng took the thermal food jar from the table and went into the lift with Su Wan. They went straight down to the underground parking lot.
Jiang Xuecheng took a glance at Su Wan’s pretty cheek from the side and with a faint voice, said, “Wan Wan, if you don’t like to go to the old mansion, you can refuse by saying I’m busy.”
Su Wan laughed. She went near Jiang Xuecheng and with a serious look, replied, “Actually, I like the seniors of your family. They are nice to me. Moreover, we only go back once in a while and won’t have the awkwardness of seeing each other often.”
Upon hearing this, he looked steadily at Su Wan with his dark eyes but didn’t say anything. He merely held her hand and walked toward the parking bay and drove his Koenigsegg Agera R.
When they arrived at Zhao Hua Hospital, Su Wan went up alone to send the food and let Jiang Xuecheng wait in the car as they were rushing.
Su Wan walked into Lin Fei’er’s intensive care unit quickly. When she pushed the door open, she found Mrs. Lin there. She nodded smilingly toward her.
“Hello, Aunty Lin.”
When Mrs. Lin heard Su Wan’s voice from the back, she was surprised at first. Then, she smiled and said, “Wan, why didn’t you inform me you were coming? We’re not prepared.”
Lin Fei’er who was lying on the bed saw Su Wan in a hurry. She was overjoyed when she saw Su Wan but after the joy, there was disagreement in her eyes.
“You just got off work? You must be tired. Don’t come on days that you work. I feel much better now. You don’t have to be worried.”
Su Wan smiled. She darted Lin Fei’er a glance, “You have the strength to lecture me now. It looks like her majesty is indeed feeling much better.”
Lin Fei’er was amused by Su Wan’s tease. She glared at Su Wan in disagreement and there was faint redness on her cheeks.
Compared to her pale look a few days ago, Lin Fei’er had more vitality now. It looked like her condition had completely improved after professional care.
Su Wan took the thermal food jar out from the plastic bag and opened it while looking at Lin Fei’er.
“This is stewed black chicken with goji berries. I’ve asked Aunty Fang to prepare this for you. There are some Chinese herbs to help enhance blood circulation.”
Lin Fei’er lowered her head to smell the food and acting like a greedy child, said, “It smells so good!”
Su Wan pursed her lips as she smiled. She portioned some of it into a bowl for Lin Fei’er and replied, “You’re weak now. Finish it so you can get better soon.”
Lin Fei’er received that bowl of soup and nodded smilingly. Her big eyes were bright.
When Su Wan saw Lin Fei’er’s appetite, she was relieved. She stood up and told Mrs. Lin, “Aunty Lin, I have to go now. Please help me urge Fei’er to finish the soup.”
Mrs. Lin looked at Su Wan and with a stunned look, asked, “Wan, you just came. Why don’t you stay a little longer to talk to Fei’er?”
Su Wan smiled faintly and shook her head. “Sorry, Aunty, I still have something to do. My husband is waiting for me downstairs.”
Su Wan initially came to Zhao Hua Hospital to tell Lin Fei’er some things, such as to mention about Li Peng’s visit.
However, when Su Wan saw Lin Fei’er’s red cheeks and her big eyes slowly regaining energy, Su Wan suddenly saw the cheerful woman she was in the past again.
Suddenly, Su Wan thought it might be better not to mention Li Peng.
Her Lin Fei’er would have a more brilliant life in the future and would not have a relationship with that scumbag.
Su Wan looked at Lin Fei’er reluctantly. Lin Fei’er waved her hand first and urged Su Wan to leave quickly.
“Isn’t your CEO waiting downstairs? Go quickly. Don’t keep him waiting.”
Su Wan smiled and finally walked out of the ward toward Jiang Xuecheng who was waiting downstairs.

When they arrived at the Jiang family’s old mansion, Su Wan saw Luo Xiuxiu standing outside waiting for them.
Luo Xiuxiu was turning her head, looking at this side of the road. There was longing in her eyes.
Su Wan saw the old lady with gray hair and was ill at heart. She jumped down from the car and ran towards her immediately.
“Grandmother, sorry to have kept you waiting.”
Luo Xiuxiu showed a loving and warm smile. She smiled and said, “No, no, Xuecheng texted me just now. I just came out according to the time he gave me.”
This grandson of hers was not as thoughtful in the past. It looked like he was steadier after having a wife.
Stunned, Su Wan looked at Jiang Xuecheng. Then, her heart warmed. “Grandmother, the wind is strong outside. Let’s go in.”
“Okay.”
Luo Xiuxiu held Su Wan’s hand and brought her toward the door while Jiang Xuecheng walked two steps behind them, looking like a knight.
After Su Wan entered, she saw Jiang Xuecheng’s mother, Xu Ziyao, serving food at the table.
She was wearing a light floral retro-style cheongsam. Her beautiful face was like a lotus in full bloom.
Xu Ziyao looked indifferent and elegant. She didn’t look like a person who had a son as old as Jiang Xuecheng. On the contrary, it would be more convincing to say that she was Jiang Xuecheng’s elder sister.
When Su Wan saw Xu Ziyao, she was unconsciously scared yet still admired her. She lowered her head slightly and called her softly, “Mother.”
Xu Ziyao put the plates down and turned around slightly. Her cold eyes landed on Su Wan for a long time.
“Both of you are here. Have a seat.”
