Chapter 309: Why Did You Push Me
The voice was pleasant and euphemistic, with a bit of Jiangnan women’s softness but when it reached Su Wan’s ears, it changed.
Su Wan pursed her lips and turned off the water tap. Then, she turned around.
A pretty figure entered her vision. Sheng An’ning was wearing a pure white dress and was looking at Su Wan vividly. Her bright eyes were like the water in autumn and when she looked around, there were glistering light of waves.
“Sis-in-Law, aren’t you happy to see me?”
Sheng An’ning blinked and her smile was innocent. Her two shallow dimples showed faintly on her cheeks.
Su Wan felt helpless and she even wondered if she had not looked at the yellow calendar before she went out today.
She merely found a restaurant to welcome Lin Fei’er, how could she meet with people she didn’t wish to see one after another?
It was upsetting!
Su Wan looked up slightly and wiped off the water on her hands. With an extremely calm voice, she said, “Ms. Sheng, would you be happy if you saw a venomous snake?”
Sheng An’ning’s smile froze. An unconcealed awkwardness appeared on her pretty face.
Su Wan had directly mocked her! She had always been praised as a girl as pretty as an angel and no one dared to say she was a venomous snake!
This b*tch!
From head to toe, besides Su Wan’s pretty face, which part of her reflected the cultivation of a graduate from a famous university?
To her, Su Wan was far from being Jiang Xuecheng’s match!
Sheng An’ning clenched her fists slightly tightly. She tried to hold back the spurt of anger. She took in a few breaths and then tilted her pretty face.
She smiled and the radian of her smile was perfect but too bad, it was merely a superficial smile.
“Sis-in-Law, how could you not be happy? You took me out of the Roses of Mariposa advertisement and replaced me as the spokesperson, shouldn’t you be extremely happy?”
Hearing what Sheng An’ning said, Su Wan frowned.
She looked up at Sheng An’ning and her voice was extremely calm.
“I’m sorry, Ms. Sheng, it seems that you’re overthinking. I’m not interested in the spokesmanship of Roses of Mariposa. To you, it may be a treasure but to me, it’s nothing.”
Hearing Su Wan’s slight humiliating tone, Sheng An’ning’s heart slacked and suddenly felt a sharp pain.
How could this b*tch look at her with such arrogance?
Wasn’t she putting on an air of dominance just because Jiang Xuecheng favored her?
In fact, this woman was nothing if she were to separate from Jiang Xuecheng!
Sheng An’ning bit her lips and there was a flash in her eyes.
“Sis-in-Law, what are you talking about? Didn’t you try all means with Mr. Lu to ask for the spokesmanship of Roses of Mariposa? Oh, you must have also spent a long time with Director Li Shan to get him to spare no effort to support you!”
Su Wan’s creases on her forehead deepened. She felt Sheng An’ning was extremely unreasonable!
Of course, Su Wan admired Sheng An’ning’s imagination. This girl had falsely accused her, implying her unrighteous affair with these two men.
Su Wan believed in the saying ‘a straight foot is not afraid of a crooked shoe.’ She shrugged and in her eyes was a cold smile.
“Ms. Sheng, you know very clearly why you were removed as the spokesperson. As for my relationship with Mr. Lu and Director Li Shan, you won’t be able to slander me with just a sentence or two.”
“You have such a sharp tongue!”
Sheng An’ning smiled coldly for a moment and all of a sudden, her expression became weak. Before Su Wan could understand why Sheng An’ning’s face changed so quickly, she saw Sheng An’ning dashing toward her.
Su Wan waved unconsciously, trying to stop Sheng An’ning but she heard a scream and saw Sheng An’ning falling backward to the wash basin.
Su Wan stared at Sheng An’ning who was sitting on the ground, unsure of what trick she was up to.
Sheng An’ning’s eyes were filled with tears and her pretty face was written with grievances.
Sheng An’ning touched her ankles. Her tears flowed down her cheeks slowly and there was a trace of pain that was hard to hide in between her brows.
“Sis-in-Law, why did you push me? I know you’re jealous that Brother Xuecheng and I are childhood friends and you always mind the resemblance between you and me, but haven’t you snatched away the spokesmanship from me? Isn’t that revenge enough?”
Sheng An’ning looked at Su Wan with forbearance. While she spoke, she choked. The tearful eyes were so mottled that it could break people’s heart.
Stunned, Su Wan looked at Sheng An’ning. She didn’t know what Sheng An’ning was up to. Suddenly, a man’s worried voice rang through Su Wan’s ears.
“An’ning, are you alright? An’ning...”
Su Wan raised her eyes and looked out of the door. Jiang Haoxuan rushed in immediately and picked up the weak woman who fell to the ground.
With heartache, Jiang Haoxuan looked at Sheng An’ning’s red ankle and quietly wondered if there was a fracture.
“An’ning, is your ankle okay?”
Sheng An’ning seemed to have not heard Jiang Haoxuan’s question. She leaned on Jiang Haoxuan’s shoulder with a pale face.
That pair of teary and misty eyes kept staring at Su Wan.
“Sis-in-Law, why did you push me?”
This question had been asked two times. Sweat broke out on her forehead and she was obviously in pain.
Hearing Sheng An’ning’s question, Jiang Haoxuan’s face sank. He shot an indifferent look at Su Wan. Such sinister eyes were as if brewing a storm.
Su Wan looked at Jiang Haoxuan’s gloomy face and a satirizing look appeared on her face.
Director Li Shan was wrong. It was not that Sheng An’ning couldn’t act but her acting varied according to situation.
At a time like this, Su Wan almost applauded Sheng An’ning’s acting.
Su Wan’s eyes were cold. She looked at the man and woman in front of her quietly and then her eyes landed on Jiang Haoxuan.
“I did not push her.”
She uttered five simple words to Jiang Haoxuan and whether he could take in what she said didn’t really matter to Su Wan.
Su Wan knew she couldn’t be too demanding toward a man who was obsessed with a woman.
To be honest, if Jiang Haoxuan was not Jiang Xuecheng’s little brother, Su Wan wouldn’t even have bothered to explain to him.
Upon hearing this, complicated emotions flashed through Jiang Haoxuan’s eyes. Apart from Sheng An’ning, he didn’t have much prejudice against Su Wan.
However, this matter involved Sheng An’ning.
Now that each of these women had their own version of the same story, who should he believe?
Just when Jiang Haoxuan was hesitant, an anxious voice was heard at the door.
“Wan, why did you take so long? Is something wrong...”
Lin Fei’er who came running in hastily and saw the confrontation of the three people the moment she came in.
Although no one talked in front of the wash basin, Lin Fei’er could sense that the atmosphere was not right.
