Chapter 345: This Man Is Like A Drug
The next morning, when Su Wan woke up, she felt darkness in front of her.
Su Wan felt as if she was broken and her body was aching. Jiang Xuecheng had been too unrestrained yesterday. She didn’t know when she had passed out and when she was carried into the room.
However, she knew Jiang Xuecheng had done lots of work after that because she could feel that her ankle was cool and it no longer hurt.
Su Wan sat up in a dazed state. She held on to the thin silk blanket and blinked her sleepy eyes, pondering if she should get up right now.
It was dark all around, so it must be still early.
“Wan Wan, you’re awake?”
The deep male voice entered her ears and it was kind of magnetic.
Jiang Xuecheng was around!
Su Wan was slightly shocked. She turned her head hastily and accidentally hit Jiang Xuecheng’s chin.
However, Jiang Xuecheng did not cry of pain but Su Wan rubbed her head.
What was this man made of? Why was his chin so hard? She was in pain.
A smile appeared on Jiang Xuecheng’s charming face. “Did you hit your head because you were in a hurry to see me?”
Su Wan couldn’t help blushing after being teased by Jiang Xuecheng.
Every time this man opened his mouth, she didn’t wish to talk to him!
When Su Wan was silent, Jiang Xuecheng smirked. “Are you shy?”
“Of course not!” Su Wan hit his shoulder gloomily. “Alright, I’m hungry. Please go and prepare breakfast!”
Jiang Xuecheng shrugged and then slowly put on his shirt. With the warm yellow wall lamp, Su Wan quietly admired Jiang Xuecheng’s side profile.
An inexplicable feeling arose in Su Wan’s heart. This man was like a drug.
Once in touch, quitting was no longer an option...
Although the time that Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng had spent together was short, he had become a part of her life and it seemed like it should have been like this.
Just when Su Wan was in her reverie, Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes swept across her faintly and there was a slight smile on his handsome face.
“Wan Wan, you can sleep for a while more. I’ll call you when breakfast is ready.”
Jiang Xuecheng knew that what he had done last night was too much. His heart ached and he wanted to let Su Wan rest more.
After that sentence, Jiang Xuecheng walked out of the room.
Su Wan answered ‘Mm’ slightly but did not really continue to sleep. She seized the thin velvet blanket and looked at her ankle.
The terrible bruise she had yesterday had subsided a lot. Su Wan tried moving her foot a little and there wasn’t a sharp pain like yesterday.
Phew, she didn’t know what Jiang Xuecheng had applied for her last night but it was effective.
Su Wan’s lips curved up and a beautiful smile was shown.
She looked at the surrounding and realized that there were no clothes she could change into. Hence, she got up in her blue pajamas.
Due to her fear of another ankle injury, Su Wan landed on one foot and walked out of the bedroom by holding on to the things around the room.
Only when she was out of the room did she realize that the room was dark because the double curtains were drawn. The minute she looked at the clock on the wall, she saw it was nearly ten in the morning.
So, did it mean that Jiang Xuecheng had accompanied her to sleep till this hour?
Jiang Xuecheng was very disciplined in his routine of work and rest. Basically, she wouldn’t see him every day when she woke up.
Suddenly, Su Wan heard a rumbling sound. There was no doubt that her stomach was making noise.
She hadn’t felt it just now but after looking at the time, she felt extremely hungry...
Su Wan gave up the idea of changing clothes. Instead, she decided to go to the kitchen to see what Jiang Xuecheng was up to.
Su Wan supported the wall carefully and walked slowly toward the kitchen. She usually found this house big but today, as she was not very mobile, she felt that the kitchen was too far away.
Su Wan remembered a Chinese saying which goes, ‘The road ahead is far and long and I’ll continue to pursue my dreams’. Hence, she would never give up.
She felt blessed that she didn’t have to climb the stairs or it would be too scary otherwise.
When Su Wan went near the kitchen, Jiang Xuecheng, who was preparing breakfast, sensed her presence without even turning around.
He stopped what he was doing and turned around. He saw Su Wan, who was walking on one foot.
He had to say that Su Wan looked funny and at the same time pitiful in this manner.
Jiang Xuecheng frowned and walked over to her immediately.
“Didn’t I ask you to sleep for a while more? You’re injured but still so impatient...”
Su Wan widened her eyes in grievance. She seized his arm with a look of innocence. When Jiang Xuecheng saw her look, he swallowed his admonishing words.
When he stopped lecturing her, she smiled. “What are you cooking? I could smell the aroma from the corridor.”
“You have a good nose.”
Jiang Xuecheng tapped Su Wan’s nose helplessly and replied, “It’s omelette and it’s ready. I’ll carry you out first.”
“No, thank you, I can...”
Before Su Wan’s voice died down, Jiang Xuecheng held her up by her waist. She darted a sideways glance at him and gave up struggling.
He was doing this hoping that she would recover quickly. Su Wan knew Jiang Xuecheng’s intention and she was touched.
Jiang Xuecheng carried Su Wan and placed her down on a chair beside the dining table. Then, he tapped her head seriously. “Don’t move around anymore. Wait till I bring the omelette.”
Su Wan nodded obediently. As soon as Jiang Xuecheng left, her mobile phone lit up.
Su Wan was slightly taken aback. She unlocked her phone and a text message from the lawyer, Mr. Luo, reflected on the screen.
“Miss Su, Mr. Su has compromised. The agreement will be sent to you by mail on Monday.”
Grandfather had agreed.
Su Wan’s smile disappeared. Her brows which had been raised were now lowered. She leaned against the back of the chair and a shadow seemed to have been casted over her.
It was good to use half of Sheng Yuan’s shares in exchange for the peace of her family.
Su Wan had specifically stated in the agreement that these property rights could not be transferred to Su Jiankai and his family, or the agreement would otherwise be invalid.
When Jiang Xuecheng served breakfast, he saw Su Wan’s head lowered languidly. She looked like she was in low spirits.
“What’s wrong, Wan Wan?”
Su Wan looked up and tried hard to look more natural. “Mr. Luo, the lawyer, said my grandfather has signed the agreement.”
Jiang Xuecheng accompanied Su Wan to Jing Yuan the other day and he naturally knew what was happening. He put the exquisite plate down and gave Su Wan a comforting smile.
“Wan Wan, it’s all over. I’ll always be with you from now on.”
Su Wan nodded slightly and smiled. She picked up the delicious omelette in front of her.
“Mmmm, delicious!”
One’s health is one’s life. Su Wan would definitely not torture her own stomach.
