Chapter 1432 Liam

Chapter 1432  Liam

The tiger that attacked was somewhere near the very peak of the Earth Immortal realm, but not quite there. If Lex had to guess, he would say the tiger was either a level 7 or 8 Earth Immortal. Bagheera, on the other hand, was closer to the middle of the Earth Immortal realm, maybe a level 4 or 5.

Of course, strength could not be measured merely by levels, but with Bagheera's personality the way it was, it was better to assume that his strength did not surpass what it appeared to be on the surface.

Ironically, it was the tigress who had the highest cultivation of the three, undeniably at the very peak of the Earth Immortal realm.

If a fight broke out between them, it would not end swiftly and would cause a lot of damage. Of course, that was presuming that the fight was not immediately put to a stop by the bank's security forces. Even as they headed downstairs, Lex and Gerard could sense the security closing in, since they too could sense a fight about to break out.

But whether the fight lasted a long time or not, they absolutely could not let Velma come to harm.

When the tiger eventually lunged towards Bagheera, Velma was standing right beside him. Even if she was not the target of the attack, as a mere level 1 Earth Immortal, she would not escape unharmed just from being near it.

The Sunset Tiger was, as the name might suggest, a Beast, and Beasts did not really have tenets. That was primarily a humanoid thing. Instead, they manipulated laws using their own unique abilities, or through their incredibly powerful bodies.

The Sunset Tigers, as a race, had strong affinity towards stars, fire, and damnation. All three of those laws manifested in the tiger's claws as he aimed to rip Bagheera's scales off his face.

Yet just as his power rose to a crescendo, and he was ready to unleash all his might, a human hand appeared right in front of him, his fingers interlocking between his claws, and somehow suppressing the laws in his body.

In a single moment, the tiger went from lunging into an attack to holding hands with a human, awkwardly standing on its hind legs as if they were about to dance. The worst part of it was… the tiger tried to fight back, but its entire body was frozen still.

It was as if the human had proven himself to be supreme, suppressing the tiger in all aspects, whether it be bloodline, strength, laws, or anything else.

"I'm very flattered that you feel like dancing, but I'm really only interested in human females," said Lex as he looked at the tiger.

He really did not want to get involved in other people's business, but if he had to get involved, it was best to take control of the whole situation. If a fight broke out, there would be problems, but if it never reached that level at all, then things would be much easier.

Before the tiger could process what Lex had said, Lex finally let go of the tiger's claws and stepped back. A number of guards, all dressed completely in armor so their race and identity was completely hidden, arrived within the cafe.

"Thank you for intervening, dear guest," said one of the guards, stepping forward. "But we'll take things from here."

"No problem at all," said Lex with a smile.

The tiger, finally free from Lex's influence, calmed down. It knew that with the bank's security on scene now, it had lost the opportunity to do as it pleased. Even so, it did not back down. It looked at Lex for a moment with wariness in his eyes, but considering that Lex did not actually harm him in any way, turned to look back at Bagheera.

"This is not over, panther. The dignity of the Sunset Tigers cannot be stained by the likes of you."

"I don't think it's anyone else's business who I associate with," the tigress said, walking up beside Bagheera who had managed to maintain a tough facade throughout.

"I think you have made a grave mistake," Bagheera said, walking up to the tiger and looking it directly in the eye. "It's not that the dignity of the Sunset Tigers cannot be stained, but that the dignity of the bank cannot even be touched."

The statement was kind of pointless, since everyone here was a part of the bank, the tiger included. But the difference was, Bagheera may not be strong, but he understood the complex dynamics of the bank better than most, and that is how he rose through the ranks.

For the tiger to do something so reckless, in a time where the bank had also just suffered a setback, was practically just asking for trouble.

Before the tiger could respond, the guards escorted him away, leaving the group by themselves, though some guards remained within the cafe. The others within were also watching with interest, especially since the entire confrontation had happened outside an isolation formation.

"I must thank you for your timely assistance," the tigress said, stepping forward to Lex. "I don't think anyone else could have disarmed the situation quite so effortlessly. My name is Mira Heart, of the Red Heart clan. May I have the pleasure of your acquaintance?"

Lex had told the others to use a fake name, and already knew that Velma had gone with Vivian, while Gerard had gone with the name Butler. For himself he first thought of sticking with Leo, but that identity of his had already been revealed, so now it was time for a new fake identity.

"My name is Liam. It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Mira. It's such a shame we met under such unfortunate circumstances."

"Liam, I'm glad I ran into you all," said Bagheera. "I was going to come look for you soon anyway. Your accommodations have been decided, and your new schedule has been released. If you're free now, I can take you to your temporary residence. You won't have lot of free time after this."
