They rested for a day by the river. Lu Li and Jiang Qiling dined to their hearts’ content, then Lu Li went for a good and long sleep in his tent. Sleep was the best elixir. Sometimes, sleeping was better than taking many soul nurturing pellets.
Lu Li enjoyed a feast again after he woke up before he flew everyone back to their base camp. Jiang Qiling was too weak and she must have a good rest. Lu Li’s plan was to send them back and move out on his own.
Jiang Qiling declined the idea when she heard it and claimed she wanted to go with Lu Li. This time, Lu Li put his foot down and demanded her going back.
At last, she agreed. She understood that since her soul was too weak now, it would take 10 days or even half a month before she could even walk again. She would need two or three months to fully recover.
During the two or three months, she wouldn’t be of any help to Lu Li. Instead, she would become a burden to him. She agreed to go back because she knew Lu Li had come to gain points to get Bai Qiuxue elixirs.
Lu Li flew them back to the base camp on his Fate Wheel. They ran into some alien races along the way. He could deal with those alien races alone without help from others.
Several days passed but they didn’t encounter any large group of humans. They only saw several human warriors who were more likely to be scouts. Lu Li didn’t pay attention to them as he hurried back to the base camp.
Lu Li flew directly toward the base camp in a fast speed. In just five or six days, they arrived nearby where there were more human warriors. They stared at him as if he was some monster.
Lu Li said nothing along the way and showed no expressions. Nobody could tell whether he was happy or upset. By the time they arrived at the base camp, they met even more human warriors. Lu Li saw two familiar faces from the distance, Lu Lin and Lu Hongyu.
The two was delighted when they saw Lu Li from afar. Lu Li and Lu Lin made some eye contact and they both understood something.
Jiang Qiling thought Lu Li would have a cow but he said nothing and did nothing except to bring them to a corner and wait for Jiang Hu to build them tents.
The news of Lu Li coming back caused quite a sensation at the base camp. Many young masters and young ladies from the northern Central Plains gathered around.
Lu Li and Jiang Qiling had no time to chit-chat with them. But they did send Jiang Hu out to gather some intelligence. By the time their tents were built, Jiang Hu came back with information.
The troops of human warriors were on their way to rescue Jiang Qiling and Lu Li. When they learned that Lu Li had defeated the armies of four alien races, the troop came back to the base camp, after which Ji Mengtian, Yang Xuan, and Lu Suan all left with their teams to hunt down alien races.
“Ha, ha!”
Lu Li smiled coldly. Lu Suan, Ji Mengtian, and the others must be afraid to meet him.
Lu Li didn’t ask for details. He asked Jiang Hu to gather all the warriors from both major and minor families of the northern Central Plains and gave them an order—unless they were leaving the base camp to fight alien races, they must gather around and protect Jiang Qiling.
Then Lu Li told Jiang Hu and others to call more warriors over to protect her and that he would chop Jiang Hu’s head off if he came back with a hurt Jiang Qiling.
“It’s fine. Don’t threaten them.”
Jiang Qiling walked out from her tent and said, “This is the base camp. Usually, it is crowded with people and alien races will not have the guts to come here. Do you think anyone of our human warriors have the courage to kill me here? You can put your mind at ease and go.”
Jiang Qiling handed Lu Li a bottle of pellets and said, “These are all the Toxin Protection Pellets I have. You must be careful if you run into the Voodoo Race. Also… if you see you-know-who, don’t kill them. Revenge is a dish best served cold.”
Jiang Qiling understood very well what the objective of Lu Li’s trip was. He would not only kill alien races to collect points but also to get even with Ji Mengtian and the others. Jiang Qiling knew him very well to learn that he would not swallow this anger.
Lu Li nodded. Jiang Qiling whispered to him again, “I think they all have valuables protecting their souls. That one has the Quasi Relic. Don’t push yourself too far. If…you died, I would not live in the world without you.”
Lu Li nodded solemnly. Then he stroked her hair openly and left with determination after giving her passionate looks.
That was right!
Lu Suan, Yang Xuan, Ji Mengtian, and Die Feiyu all had valuables to protect their souls. Ji Mengtian even had Quasi Relic. It was possible that…Yang Xuan and Lu Suan also had pieces of Quasi Relic. So what?
Lu Li and his team almost died because of their trap. They were without the protection of powerful warriors in the small world. This was the best time. If Lu Li didn’t take the chance to vent his anger, he might not get a second chance.
Revenge was a dish best served cold!
But that was for people without enough power. Lu Li was confident that he could make these people pay unless what was protecting their souls were top-level Holy Grade Xuan Artifacts or Quasi Relic.
Instead of flying on his Fate Wheel, Lu Li walked. Jiang Qiling and others watched as he went. Jiang Hu and someone else felt a bit unsettled. Somehow, they sensed that with this trip Lu Li…might cause big trouble.
…
Lu Li didn’t make trouble after he left the base camp but days were miserable for the four alien races.
Lu Li wandered around the small world, dashed around wildly with no regard of the direction he was taking and looked for alien races everywhere. Most of the alien races he met died in his hands. A few lucky ones fled.
Thousands of alien races had participated in the attack of the Tower of Delicacy but there were more than a few thousand in the small battlefield. Every race had sent in at least seven or eight thousand so there must be more than 30,000 alien races in total. Therefore, many of them didn’t know Lu Li. They even dashed toward him in excitement when they saw him alone and thought they could torture him and kill him.
How powerful were Lu Li’s soul attacks?
Lu Li himself didn’t know the answer. But there was one thing he was sure of. He could defeat any warrior below the Human Sovereign Realm with no soul protection valuables!
As for alien races with protections over their souls, Lu Li never met such ones. Theoretically speaking, the royal disciples of the four alien races should have such protections but he didn’t have the chance to engage with them in a battle. The royal disciples must have gone back to their respective base camps.
Killing, resting and studying soul attacks, Lu Li had been living rewarding days. He had been wandering around in the wild for half a month.
During this time, he had lost counts of all the alien races who died in his hands. He did a rough calculation and realized that he must have killed at least four or five thousand of them. Taking those ones he killed outside of the Tower of Delicacy into account, he had killed more than 6000 alien races.
He didn’t know how many points he must collect to get Bai Qiuxue’s cure so he had to hunt for alien races tirelessly and kill them one by one.
He ran across many human teams during this half a month but he was disappointed—he never saw Ji Mengtian, Yang Xuan and Lu Suan, not even one of them.
He speculated that Ji Mengtian, Yang Xuan, and Lu Suan must have sent out scouts. His whereabouts must not be a secret to them so they would avoid meeting with him.
Lu Li was not in a hurry since there was still plenty of time left before time was up. Nobody could leave after half a year. Sooner or later, they would meet.
Lu Li carried on after resting for half a day. He manufactured a sheath and carried the divine weapon on his back.
This was not a fashion stand. Lu Li would encounter enemies quite often and he got tired of using his Interspatial Ring. He could draw his saber and bring out the divine weapon back after defeating his enemies more easily this way.
“Eh?”
Dozens of miles ahead, Lu Li saw a piece of wasted land and some faintly visible huge figures in the land.
“Barbarians? I have found the base camp of the Barbarian Race!”
Lu Li’s eyes glowed. There were four or five thousand barbarians in their base camp. How many points could he collect if he managed to kill all of them?
“Move!”
Lu Li stopped only for a moment before he leaped forward like a beast. He jumped across several small mountains and then rushed to the base camp of the Barbarian Race in strides.
