“Whoosh~”
After Lu Li left the temple, Ji Mengtian rushed down Mount Buddha with Ji Mengyao. They dashed into a Teleportation Formation and left the City of Buddha directly!
The Samsara Palace conceded!
Lu Li flew back. Many looked at him, his rigid and handsome face. They were filled with mixed feelings.
After today, the young man would take the Great Land by storm again.
The young man walked out from the Northern Desert and he could have his way at the Central Plains where powerful warriors were abundant and talents were in no short supply. He had soared up like a star. One must be amazed at his abilities and methods.
However…
The Grand Master of Demon-slaying Hall only promised to protect him for 10 years. One year and a half had passed and yet Lu Li was still only at the peak of the Eternal Realm. After the 10 year period was up, would he be able to stand the fire from the allied forces of the four families?
No one was that optimistic!
During the course of history, there were no lack of talented young men that soared up like a star. However, those that could make it to the peak of the world were few and far between.
Too much water drowned the miller!
This was not groundless. The Samsara Palace, the Hades Society, Pavilion of Blossoms and the Lu Family could stand at the Central Plains not because they could brag. How many resources could the four forces mobilize? The other Royal Families might not be able to confront with them, let alone Lu Li.
As for the fact that Lu Li was from the Lu Family, many chose to overlook that. Lu Zhengtan was the master of the Lu Family and Lu Li had been expelled. The conflict between Lu Li, Lu Suan and Lu Ni was not to be resolved. Therefore, Lu Li could have no more connection with the Lu Family.
“Then I will make an offer of 2.1 billion!”
Ignoring the looks from around him, Lu Li went back to the private room. He turned to Evil Punisher and said, “Do you want to send someone to check if I have that many Xuan Crystals?”
Evil Punisher forced a smile. He looked around and asked, “Anyone else?”
Nobody said anything, not even the Bi Family Human Sovereign Realm warrior. He was only a chess piece. What could he do when his own master had conceded?
After a moment, Evil Punisher nodded and said, “Alright, I see no more offers. Alms Giver Lu can have the Bodhi Fruit.”
Many felt somehow relaxed after Evil Punisher made the announcement. Nobody could say for sure how crazy Lu Li would get if anyone else made another offer. Finally, they could enjoy some peace for the day.
Lu Li smiled. He had offended the Hades Society and the Samsara Palace again but he felt worth it. The two forces and he were already like fire and water. What if the hatred grew deeper?
Lu Li went back to the private room with Gu Min and Prajna, waiting for the last item to be sold and the auction to be over.
After the scene made by Lu Li, even the bidding on the Dragon Breath Fruit seemed dull. The competition was no longer heated. The moments after Evil Punisher announced the beginning of the auction, nobody made an offer.
Later on, Chamber of Fairies and Palace of Heaven’s Roars made offers so that the rare Dragon Breath Fruit would not be sold at a low price.
But the winning bid was not high, at only 1.6 billion, less than that of the Bodhi Fruit.
After the auction, Lu Li was ready to get the Bodhi Fruit and hand in his Xuan Crystals when Prajna suddenly pulled a corner of his clothes and said, “My master wants to meet you.”
“Your master?”
Lu Li was surprised. He hadn’t learned Prajna’s status at the Great Buddhist Temple yet. Who was her master? Why did he want to have a meeting?
Seeing that Lu Li didn’t move, Prajna smiled sweetly and said, “My master rarely meets with others. None of the guest today can meet with my master.”
Lu Li was shocked. Not even Ji Mengtian could meet Prajna’s master? Was her master the abbot of Great Buddhist Temple and the Family Patriarch of the Kong Family?
“Show me the way. I should pay your master a visit.”
He had won the bid of Bodhi Fruit and was not worried that the Great Buddhist Temple wouldn’t give it to him. He followed Prajna to a huge temple.
The exit of Lu Li caused much attention. Some were more confused when they saw Lu Li heading toward the hall of the Great Buddhist Temple.
There were two Noble Lord Realm monks guarding outside the hall. They didn’t stop Prajna or Lu Li. They didn’t even say anything as if Lu Li and Prajna were transparent.
Inside the hall as a huge statue of Buddha. It seemed to be made of special materials as it looked like a person.
Prajna bowed to it and then showed Lu Li to the corridor on the side. They took several turns and Lu Li had lost counts of the halls they passed along the way. In the end, they walked out of the temple and arrived in a serene valley.
The valley had a nice view. There were no servants there. There were groves of bamboos in the distance and a pond behind those. A glimpse of cabin could be seen.
Prajna was capering. She pointed to the cabin and said, “This is where I live. Only my master and I live here.”
Lu Li patted Prajna’s shoulders fondly. He looked around and saw an old monk sitting with his legs crossed by the pond with a fishing pole in his hand.
The monk was so advanced in his ages that he had a hunched back. His two white-eyebrows extended to his jaw. His eyes were closed as if he hadn’t detected the presence of Lu Li and Prajna.
Lu Li tried to sense the old monk’s realm but failed. He was shocked. This monk must be of at least the Earth Immortal Realm. He could have sensed a Human Sovereign Realm.
“Master!”
Prajna capered over. She bowed to the old monk with respect before she said, “He is here.”
Lu Li walked over. He cupped his fists, bowed and said, “Greetings, master.”
The old monk opened his somehow milky eyes. He turned around to look at Lu Li. Pointing to a slate, he said, “Please take a seat. Prajna, go and make tea.”
Prajna walked away with a smile. The old monk put down the fishing pole. Lu Li was surprised to notice that there was no bait. What was the old monk fishing for?
The old monk’s face was wrinkled. He looked at Prajna in the distance and said, “She is a good kid. I don’t have much time left on earth. I am afraid I cannot take care of her in the future.”
Lu Li looked at the old monk with a frown. What did he mean? Still, Lu Li bowed and said, “Master, you are powerful and strong enough to live for another thousands of years.”
“Ha, ha~”
The monk smiled and said, “I have lived for 3000 years and how can I not know when my time is up? I am old….I sometimes ramble. Please forgive me.”
The old monk twitched his long white eyebrows and continued, “Never mind that. I want to talk something serious with you about…the Cyan Phoenix Race and the Mammoth Race!”
“Eh?”
The six forces tried to annihilate the Cyan Phoenix Race and the Mammoth Race and the two parties shared irreconcilable hatred. Lu Li even promised the two races that they would bring the two races back to the Central Plains and let them have their ancestral lands back.
The old monk wanted to talk about the two races? In other words—the hold monk must know the surviving ones of the two races were now with Lu Li. How else would he want to talk about this out of nowhere?
After some deliberation, Lu Li asked a direct question, “The 12 Royal Families all know about the Cyan Phoenix Race and the Mammoth Race?”
…
