The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 518

Chapter 518

Chapter 518: Destroy Shirley!

“What do you mean?”

“You know what I mean, Amaira.” Charles shoved his hand into his pocket without breaking his gaze from her face. “She’s your mother. Are you backstabbing your mother with this secret?”

“It isn’t hidden that Javier and I dislike your mother. Even after knowing this, you are willing to give me information when you are aware that both of us will use information against Shirley and destroy her. If she is doing something as you mentioned, it won’t be difficult for us to know. But what about you?”

“You are willingly destroying your mother. Why?” Charles didn’t beat around the bush. He was straight to the point, as his brows converted into a frown.

He couldn’t realize the motive behind her actions. She was like a hidden gem which he wanted to discover. In fact, his eyes glittered with dangerous glint at the thought of her playing tricks on them.

But to his surprise, Amaira didn’t show the same resistance anymore. Her nervousness disappeared and she stretched her back straight.

Amaira looked straight into his eyes without taking any step.

.....

“I want to live peacefully, that’s all I want. Mother and I...have our differences. I don’t wanna be intertwined in everyone’s affairs..I wish to live my life without much hustle.” Amaira’s face didn’t display even an inch of dislike.

She was entirely honest and the words seemed to be arising out of heart. If not because of the same, Amaira didn’t believe that she was capable of answering it.

‘Will he think I’m joking?’ it was the truth. She answered with pure honesty. But if Charles still keeps his doubt, she won’t blame him.

At the end, she is simply their..step sister.

In response, Charles didn’t mutter a single word. He kept absolute silence between them and this made her heart beat erratically as if a hammer was hitting her chest.

She waited, and kept on waiting for his reply, but there was no space for the same.

“I think...you should rest as well.” Amaira softly spoke, without hoping to receive a negative answer from Charles. “You must be tired. I shall leave now...”

However, just when Amaira turned around, her eyes fell on the shoes. Since she kept her head down, she noted the shoes which made her lift her eyes.

There stood a man, who was entirely unexpected. “W-what are you doing here Ryan?!”

“I’m not here to see you. I have something to discuss with my brother Charles.” Ryan wasn’t in any mood to entertain her either. On hearing her reply, his sarcastic speech played on its own.

But neither did Amaira protest. She happily walked away from the place.

She knew that the reason Charles didn’t respond to her was on account of the presence of Ryan behind her. If she had pestered him to answer back, Ryan would have heard all of their words.

At the same spot in the lobby, Ryan stared at the back of Amaira who left without sparing him another gaze. A sudden squeeze was sensed in his heart before he turned his gaze on Charles for the important work he was here for.

“Javier has brought Jennifer back to our base in Smith state. He told me that he will delay his homecoming for a few more days.” Ryan conveyed the information received

“You could have told me about this over the phone too..” Charles made the comment.

“Javier specially instructed me to come and tell you. He doesn’t treat phone as reliable sources now... ” that was very much expected from Javier.

On hearing the superficial excuses used by Javier, Charles’s brows twisted. “He is too afraid and fearful.”

“We all know..” Ryan coughed a bit to say,”That’ll, I’ll leave now.”

“Wait, Ryan!”

Charles stopped him from leaving. Ryan lifted his eyes to look at Charles, who had the same expressions as earlier.

But now, he could see the curiosity in his eyes, “Is there anything?”

“What happened between you and Amaira? Why did you guys split up and grow so sour with each other?” Charles’s question left Ryan dumbstruck.

Ryan was frozen from head to toe, finding his heart beating hammering against his chest tightly.

He tried to reason out but the words didn’t roll from his words. Currently, he hasn’t stood against his boss. He was the brother of his ex-girlfriend with whom he is still in love.

“Why do you want to know about it?” That was the first question Ryan asked.

“Tell me, at least I should know about this.” It was easy because he wanted to know. Ryan couldn’t reason out on this either. He knew that Charles would rarely put question on the personal matters. But if he is doing it, he must not disappoint him.

Ryan took a deep breath and it calmed his face. The nerves were popping out. He felt the tiny hair rising on his hands on recalling of all the old memories to make a summary and describe Charles.

“We both were together when I was in my teen years. Before I went to my university with Javier, we were together. But hardly anyone knew, except Ellen. Since we were young, we thought of keeping this hidden and under wraps.”

“We used to roam...eat together and do everything. However, when I turned eighteen, I wanted to get admission in one of our state’s universities too. My mother was a single parent and I dared not to dream big. But it was in the middle of the time when your father approached me....”

Ryan had self control to not let himself be bathed with the old past anymore. That was the part of him within already subsiding at the time....

“Mr. Shawn made me realize how different our world is. Amaira... and I couldn no longer be with each other. At that moment, I didn’t agree with what he said. After a few days, I found out that my mother had an accident and I needed a lot of money to save her..”

“This was when Mr.Shawn told me that he will never let Amaira marry someone middle class like me. Rich people are supposed to marry Rich. I didn’t have anything to give her in return. To end things, he helped me to pay back my mother’s medical fees... and asked me to go abroad to study so that I can get away from Amaira for once...”
