Chapter 577 - 577 Complicated Love

577 Complicated Love

Ellen was absolutely calm on such a question as if he had expected this curious little girl to show her devil and question him. He took a sip of his tea and without tearing his eyes away from the other woman sitting opposite him, “Hmm...Ariana, someone isn’t agreeing to marry me.”

“Really?” Ariana cracked her head as if not buying this and as expected, Ellen laughed at his own words. He placed the cup down to look at the little girl and he shook his head. “No. Actually, it is a waste of time. Love...I don’t believe in such things for now. You know, being alone also brings happiness. Sometimes it’s better to be alone than to be in a complicated relationship.”

“Oh...” till now, Ariana had a little development in her head. She scratched the back of her head since nothing could be read so easily. No matter what she tried to absorb, it was still hard.

Whereas, a single lady was burning in the pit of fire. If she had the choice, she would like to sabotage Ellen’s mouth. ‘Waste? yeah. it suits best for a man like him...a total one night stand man..’ she couldn’t help but curse him beneath her breath.

Her eyes were hostile, glimmering coldly at Ellen. A frown curved in between her frowns and she could feel herself wanting to shout and ask hundreds of questions that were resting in her head. But she held down her annoyance without creating a scene.

Sooner, she turned her face again to see Ariana and they had spent a few hours without talking with each other. On one hand, Hannah was glad that Ellen never tried to intervene in her relationship with Ari, but Ellen had turned grosser in his mood. ‘What is wrong with this lady?’

The sky turned dark and both of them had the responsibility to make Ariana sleep in her bed. Hannah held the sleepy girl and tugged her back into the bed of her room where Ellen was sitting in a comfortable position on the other end of the bed, and the other side was occupied by Hannah.

Hannah was slowly patting the girl’s head and mumming a soft tune for the girl. Her gaze turned gentle and she was only reminiscing about the time she had spent with Jennifer in the past.`How easily our lives have changed. I’m the godmother of her child but she isn’t here anymore..’ sorrow gripped her head tightly but she had no reason to deny it.

A dry smile graced her lips. Yet no expression of hers was hidden away from Ellen’s sharp gazes. He had taken into account how she had sighed, relaxed, and turned gloomy. But without intervening in such deviation, he stayed quiet and only stared at her face with gentleness.

.....

But when he saw that Ari had drifted into a deep slumber, he checked his watch to see the time and knew that Javier would be here soon. Without wasting any more time, he turned his face to find Hannah also feeling sleepy. “We need to leave, Ariana is already asleep.”

“B-But what about Javier?” Hannah questioned since she didn’t wish to leave Ari alone in the room where there was no view of Javier nearby. “He will return to the room. His meeting had ended just minutes ago and must be seeing off the clients.”

“Oh, alright.” Hannah got up and covered Ariana with the blanket. She smiled at the little girl in the bed and made her way out of the bedroom. Ellen followed until he closed the door behind him of the suite, and then his hand gripped Hannah’s arms.

Swinging her in the air, he pulled her body and slammed it against the wall, blocking her path. She was trapped in between his rigid body and a thick wall, giving her chills down her spine. “You....” her eyes widened at his proximity. His daring act caught her off guard. Not only did he come close to her face, but his hand slipped to hold her waist and the other grabbed her wrist, leaving no scope of turning her back on him.

“I asked you and you haven’t given me a reply for that. So, I had to wait for the day to come to an end and ask you in private.” His questions were firm. While Hannah was deeply staring into his eyes, nervousness growled under her skin. “I-I did give you answers! Haven’t you got it?!”

She moved her neck to look around and the chances of being seen were high. “Ellen..please leave me. If someone sees us like this...”

“No one will do. And if they do, I don’t think I’m wrong. People here are very open-minded.” But she didn’t want to! Hannah protested in her mind but knowing that Ellen was a stubborn man, nothing could stop the wanted and that way for sure.

A sigh escaped from her lips when she finally lifted her eyelashes to ask, “Ellen, I haven’t ignored you. After what happened between us...I guess that is very expected of me. You said it clearly that it meant... So why are you pestering me now?”

“But I never said that we can never talk about it anymore.” he twisted her words and Hannah was at loss. “You.... but you never said that you will contact me! After everything, you want me to happily talk to you so that you can...” Hannah didn’t want to compel her words but Ellen caught the hidden meaning.

Her unspoken sentence had reminded him about what he had said after the deed was done. Probably he was a jerk for saying that but it didn’t occur to him that his very actions were keeping her away from him. “I-I...”

“forget about it, Ellen.” With this, she was able to push him away from her. Ellen was too absorbed in the discovery which left him thunderstruck from head to toe. He watched Hannah’s retrieval. Despite his heart asking him to stop her, his mind told him to patiently wait. He couldn’t rush after what he had done...
