Chapter 11 - Caught!

Chapter 11 - Caught!

When things were almost getting out of Lucas's hand, Jennifer was very happy to just have her time in this place.

Though everything was going smoothly, her instincts told her that she needed to get out of this place as soon as possible.

'But this is such a vast island and.. so distinct. How will I ever get out of here even if I try on my own?' Her mind was in total conflict. She has nothing in her hands to go and search for something.

It was already morning and she was sitting in the living room. As the kitchen had an open concept, her eyes averted at the athletic figure who was making breakfast for both of them.

Starting at this face from the corner of her eyes, she noticed how mastered his skills were. Even from a distance, she can clearly see how neatly he cut the vegetables with the knife.

But at the same time when Javier lifted his eyes to stare back at her, she somehow shifted her attention back to the television in front of her.

"Ms. Taylor! It is not bad to look at me if you wish to." He shouted from the kitchen counter and in her heart, she cursed herself a million times.

Why was she even caught so bluntly? 'C'mon Jennifer, can't you just check out any man without getting their notice?' Now she knows why she never had a boyfriend!

"Who is even looking at you!? Don't make any false assumptions." This was her second day here and yet, everything felt so strange.

Was she really a kidnapper? She didn't feel so. More likely it felt that she was on any kind of vacation with this stranger, who has a dangerous personality.

"Oh.." a smirk drawn on his lips when he put the bread in the oven to bake. "Is that so? Jennifer, how bad are you at lying. Your eyes just speak out what your heart is trying to hide.."

"Hey, You!!! Whoever you are, Javier Johnson, just stay within your limits otherwise…" Jennifer was pumped up. She gave a glare that was full of daggers but he ignored the warning signals.

Putting the food on the platter, he signed her, "Come and sit on the dining table. Breakfast is ready for you."

Jennifer wanted to ignore the food he made for her. But it was hard to resist when her stomach growled immediately at the name of the food made by him.

How can she forget the tasty and delicious food she had last night?

"Ms. Taylor?" He called her name once again, "If you aren't interested in eating breakfast then it's alright with me. After all, I can eat these delicious pancakes for myself if you want."

Jennifer, who realized that her breakfast might get snatched, instantly switched off the television in front of her and walked at the rapid speed near the Dining table. She sat on the dining table like a small kid wanting her food.

"When did I say that I will not have breakfast? Come and give me my portion now!" Javier just smirked but he hid it before she could have taken notice of it.

A popular saying came to his mind, 'Looks like the entry of this girl's heart is through her small tummy.' He wanted to laugh at his own imagination but controlled himself.

"Bring it now! I'm hungry." Her small stomach was aching to have the delicious pancakes he made. The fragrance that rose from the pancakes, rose in the air and entered into her nostrils, which made her crave more of it.

Javier brought the plate on the table and kept it in front of her, "Here you go. Just try it out and let me know if this is as per your liking."

Jennifer immediately picked up the knife and the fork from the cutlery that was arranged on the table and started cutting them into pieces. Putting it into her mouth, she closed her eyes to absorb all the flavors that this pancake had.

"Umm… This is too good! Can I have one more?" Jennifer forgot that she was at her kidnapper's house. In the hurry that she asked, Javier smiled seeing her carefree nature towards him.

"Sure. Here you go." He placed another one on her and Jennifer finished it quickly as well. Never in her entire life did she imagine that a man can cook so well, especially a kidnapper like him.

She was licking her fingers but at that moment, she noticed the man properly. Until now, she was only trying to either ignore him or avoid coming face to face.

But the way he kept her was really impressive. "Hey, you! Aren't you going to eat now?" She has nothing to do with him. Why did she even ask about such a thing? Why should she care if he had his breakfast or not? But it was outta respect.

Javier, who was cleaning the kitchen counter, lifted his eyes to match hers. Those black eyes she saw… her heart fastened and Jennifer immediately withdrew her gaze... "I.. Meant that.. you must be ..hungry too."

"I will eat them very soon. But I have some other work to take care of. Feel free to explore this island, after all, you can't run away from me." All the feelings she felt, a sour reality was now put forward.

But from the corner of her eyes, she saw the phone that was lying on the kitchen counter. Without any doubt, she knew that it belonged to him.

"Yes. You won't let me get away until you get your things done through Lucas. Right?" Jennifer asked and he nodded his head slightly.

But that was her biggest worry. What if they hand her back to that monster? "Hey, gentlemen!"

"I have a proper name and my name is Javier Johnson. Call me Javier, instead of other stupid nicknames." He answered her back and reminded her of his name.

Jennifer muttered under her breath.. "Javier… such a nice name.." the pronunciation of the word from her mouth looks typically good.

"Alright, Javier, can I ask you something else?"
