Chapter 273 - Your Girlfriend?

After she lifted her eyes, what she saw was his worried face. He immediately kept his bag on the nearby couch and came near her.

Bending on his knees, he sat on the floor when he lifted his eyes, stared into hers, finding them a little bit red, "Why are you crying?"

"W-who said that I'm crying! I am not crying!" Jennifer instantly denied his question with her blunt and sharp answer but Javier knew better than her.

His eyebrows slightly raised he asked, "If you aren't crying then why is your nose so red, and your cheeks already puffed up?"

"The-that must be because…" biting her lower lip, she has no excuse to spare. His sudden arrival already left her blank.

"Stop lying in front of you!? Did someone say anything against you which makes you cry?" In the end, there was no response from her side but an entire clueless expression.

It made him the hell out of worry but at the same time, his heart was already giving him instruction to go downstairs and inquire. But before that, he called her to face his, making her forcefully look into her eyes.

"Tell me, Jennifer.. why are you crying?" In return, Jennifer kept her hands on his broad shoulders to blink her eyes twice, "I..It's alright. Just.. overthinking you can say."

"You aren't someone who will cry by overthinking. See, lies won't work, neither will I come in any trap of that so please tell Jennifer."

Hearing his words, Jennifer understood that he won't keep calm until and unless she answered back. Was she willing to act strong and not any weakling or anything?

'But in the end.. he will just constantly pester me to disclose it and it will surely create a blunder..' When this thought crossed her mind, did Jennifer realize his care and stubborn nature?

keeping the same in her mind, about his stubborn nature, she finally spoke, "I..i..m. was just missing my family…"

When the words entered into her ears, did his frown turn into normal lines over his forehead? The calm that surfaced on him was enough to make him relax a bit.

What she noted was how his grip instantly loosened with the time where it fell on her thighs, "You.. scared the hell outta me.."

"I..I.. never told you that something major happened, right? If someone had disturbed or harmed me, I would have reached you the first time itself." Jennifer replied with a sweet voice in order to make his raging nerves come on.

He fell on the ground itself, in much relaxing body language where his stare never left her race, "So…"

"So?"

"Why are you suddenly missing your family? Any special occasion?" Javier's interest in her family's affair suddenly made her alert.

But on the second note, did she remember that he also told her about his family issues. Now that she is married, isn't her family, his in-laws too?

'Too bad that his in-laws are kept in the dark that their daughter has married someone.. so have his parents.' This was some relaxing but at the same time, Jennifer answered back.

"Nothing major... Just missed them… it had been so long since I met them so yeah. Sorry.. I didn't mean to disturb your emotions." Her answer made him shake his head.

"There Is nothing like that. After all, we are a married couple and should share the talks." Nodding her head, Jennifer agreed to this.

Unfortunately, it was hard to say because there is no space for her to even reveal that her parents are in this state, 'Spilling the beans about my parents' appearance is like digging my own grave..' and she would trace her safety herself.

For the next few minutes, no one initiated the conversation anymore. This made both of them restless, but Javier's fierce gaze never left hers.

After finding the uneasiness in her body language, he knew that he had to do something to cheer up her sullen mood.

"Alright." Gaining her attention with his light word, he stood on his legs, and said, "Let us go somewhere."

"But where are you taking me?" He didn't answer but all he did was tangle their hands into one and pull her out of the house.

Without revoking, Jennifer followed him when he brought her near his car and signed her to sit in, "Go-Go. We're going far, so we need a car to use."

"B-" she wished to question but he never gave her any chance. Making her sit inside, he hurriedly took the seat of the driver and hit the road, in the direction of the countryside.

As far as she saw the terrain of the road changing, her curiosity kept on increasing, "Are we going to Hannah's place? I guess. She also lives near.:"

"Hmm. My House is also here but we are going to a different place. That is quite distant and a peaceful one." His short and crisp reply made bubbles burst in her stomach.

The amount of eagerness in her heart was reaching its peak but she waited until they arrived at the place they were supposed to.

The fast they move, she had no idea how much distance had they covered till but after a long time, Javier parked the car in front of the house… a house which looked too old.

Averting her face in his direction, she looked worried, "Are you sure.. this is the place you wanted to show me?"

Removing his belt, he nodded firmly, "This is the one. This might look old-fashioned but… there are many things to unfold. Come inside now."

Stepping out of the car, they both walked together, hands in hands towards the place where Javier knocked on the front door.

The door was wooden, where sensed that if much pressure was applied, there are changes it might also break.

For a few seconds, they waited patiently when none spoke. The seconds converted into minutes and then, an old-aged man's hard voice was heard by them.

"So you bastard! Did you come here with your girlfriend? Hmm?"
