Chapter 1647

There was something vaguely familiar about the lady’s eyes.

“Who are you?” Bertha asked, puzzled by the sudden appearance of Ellinor.

While leading the two children, Ellinor approached with a smile. “I shouldn’t interfere with how you raise your child, but when I heard you falsely accusing your daughter, I couldn’t sit back and let it happen.”

Lea, heart heavy with an unspoken grievance, found solace in Ellinor’s timely appearance. “Lady, I… I didn’t betray you and Marcus.”

Ellinor, bending her head slightly to look at Lea, nodded. “I know. You’re doing great. But you don’t have to let your mom misunderstand you for our sake.”

Bertha was confused, but from her daughter’s demeanor, she could guess who Ellinor was.

This lady must be the one who saved her life with a blood donation years ago.

But why was she hiding in the restroom with Tristan?

Why were there two Tristan?

“Who are you really? Why do you have Tristan with you?” Bertha asked while staring at Ellinor.

Lea tugged at Bertha’s sleeve with her lips puckered in a pout. “Mom, she’s the good lady who saved your life. And she’s not only your savior; she’s Marcus’ real wife and Tristan’s biological

mother.

If it weren’t for Sophia forcing Marcus away from her, the good lady and Marcus would have been one happy family. You’ve seen it; the good lady not only gave birth to one child for Marcus, but the other one is also theirs.

The reason I didn’t tell you the truth earlier was because Marcus didn’t want Dad and Sophia to know he had learned the truth. He fears Dad would hurt the good lady and their children to protect Sophia.

Mom, the good lady and Marcus have suffered enough. Can you not tell Dad for now?”

Bertha was shocked by her daughter’s revelations, and she looked at the two identical boys by Ellinor’s side.

How could such a coincidence happen?

The kind-hearted girl who saved her life was Sophia’s favorite man’s original wife?

Oh my god!

Despite the absurdity of it all, Bertha believed her daughter because the two identical boys were proof enough.

Feeling embarrassed, Bertha didn’t know what to say to Ellinor.

What could she possibly say?

It was her husband and stepdaughter who had broken up this woman’s family, and she was the woman who saved her life.

She really didn’t know what to say.

Ellinor seemed calm. She genuinely disliked Thaddeus, but she felt an inexplicable kinship towards Thaddeus’ wife that made it hard to dislike hier.

She nudged the real Tristan, who was standing next to her, forward. “Madam, could you please take Tristan back to him? It’s not convenient for me to go myself.”

Bertha nodded in confusion. “Alright… okay.”

Ellinor smiled. “Thank you. Please don’t tell them you’ve met me here; just like your daughter said, we don’t want to alert your husband and stepdaughter yet. I still have to get my husband

and children back.”

Bertha frowned. “I’m sorry. Because of my husband, you can’t be with your husband and children. I really don’t know what to say, but I’ll help you, not for anything else but because you saved my life without considering your own pregnancy. I can’t ignore this.”

Ellinor nodded. “Thank you for understanding.”
