Sophia was raising hell inside the barred cell. She was shouting and kicking at the metal door, causing quite a stir.
The officer, who had led Thaddeus and his family there, was frowning. “Ever since we put her in there, she hasn’t stopped. She’s been hurling abuse at my colleagues non-stop.”
Thaddeus’s face was clouded over, and his expression was darker than ever.

Realizing that her father wasn’t just trying to scare her but was seriously considering abandoning her, Sophia’s anger flared.
