Chapter 2467

“Stop! Please, Mr. Howard, I admit I was wrong-I swear I won’t do it again. It wasn’t on purpose; I just

got confused, and my mind was clouded. How could I ever dare to cross you? I won’t ever think of it

again!”

Unlike Ivy, Balfour was a man of his word, a take-no-prisoners kind of guy. Without a second thought,

he dialed 911.

Hearing Clara’s pleas, he couldn’t help but chuckle. “The trouble you’re in is nothing but karma for your

actions. Maybe next time, before you decide to stir up mischief, you’ll think twice about whether you

can handle the fallout!”

Clara knew begging this man was futile, so she quickly switched tactics. “If you call the cops, I’ll just go

online and continue to smear Ivy. You know, living under the same roof for years adds weight to my

words. If you don’t want to see your darling lady dragged through the mud, then you’d stop what you’re

doing!”

Balfour paused, sizing up the woman in front of him. She had more nerve than he’d given her credit for.

But she seemed to have forgotten something-if he really wanted to, making sure she never worked in

this town again would be a piece of cake. In his world, no one could intimidate him.

“Okay, I’m begging you, it’s my bad this time. Just don’t call the cops, and I promise I won’t spread any

more rumors online,” Clara said, her voice twisted with the strain of her offer. She knew that crossing

this man could spell the end of her career.

Not wanting the Dunhill family drama to affect Ivy any longer, Balfour decided not to escalate the

situation. For now, he would leave it be.

Later, Balfour made a request to Margot to keep this dirty laundry away from Ivy.

Alyssa noticed something-a new level of affection seemed to have blossomed between her grandson

and his wife.

Balfour and Ivy had both come home to check on the old folks, which was a delight in itself. But when

Alyssa saw Balfour gallantly opening the car door for Ivy and the two of them walking hand in hand, her

heart swelled with joy.

They couldn’t quite put their finger on it, but the couple’s gestures seemed more natural, more

practiced than before. They looked every bit the picture of love, even their casual glances filled with

sweet, sparkling bubbles.

Alyssa had always adored Ivy as her granddaughter-in-law, and seeing their relationship thrive made

her even happier.

“Grandma, Grandpa, we’re here to see you. Sorry it’s been a while, the film set’s been hectic with the

final scenes, and I haven’t been able to visit as much, Ivy apologized. Ever since she and Balfour had

moved out, the big villa felt lonelier with just the two elders.

That was why Alyssa and Dean always looked forward to Ivy and Balfour’s visits. But with the recent

busy schedule, it was usually late in the evening by the time Balfour could bring Ivy home after her

shoots, making it difficult for her to visit.

Smiling, Alyssa took Ivy’s hand, unconcerned that her grandson stood behind them. “We understand

you young folks are busy with work. Just knowing you care is enough for us. When the movie wraps

up, move back in. Spend some time with us as compensation,” she said, patting Ivy’s hand.

Ivy nodded vigorously. “Absolutely! Balfour and I have already talked about it. As soon as the film is

done, I’m moving back. You’ll see me every day then, and you’d better not get tired of me!”
