Chapter 937

As she went down the stairs. Theo was engrossed in his phone, completely ignoring her. He might have done something at that moment.

Balfour warned, “Ellinor, those discussions might have disappeared, but their effects haven’t. Be careful and try not to go out these days”

Ellinor nodded, “Thanks for your concern, Mr. Howard. If there’s nothing else, I’ll get out of the car.”

Balfour said. “Wait!”

Ellinor sat back down, “Is there something else?”

Balfour looked at her with a complicated expression and said, “Ellinor, this situation is very strange. Domestic media would never dare report on the Blanchet family without confirmation. After these hashtags disappeared, I had someone investigate and found that foreign media were behind it. This is not just targeted at you, but also the Blanchet family. No matter what, be careful. Got it?”

Hearing the repeated instructions, Ellinor was a bit annoyed. She nodded patiently and said, “I got it. Thanks for your concern.”

With that, Ellinor pushed open the car door and got out. Theo pulled up to pick her up, saving her a bit of a walk.

After Ellinor got back in the car, Theo backed up a few meters, then drove through the gate of the Blanchet family’s home.

Balfour watched her leave with a complicated look and sighed helplessly.

Quinton, in the driver’s seat, turned to Balfour and said, “Sir, don’t worry! Mr. Blanchet should be able to protect Ms. Mendoza

Balfour pinched the bridge of his nose, “That’s exactly why I’m worried. Their family has a complex social network. Ellinor already sticks out by being with him, and now she’s a hot topic online. She won’t have a moment’s peace.”

Quinton didn’t say anything. He knew some of Theo’s stories. His family and social background were indeed complicated. He just hoped he wouldn’t bring any danger to Ms. Mendoza.

“Quinton, have someone keep an eye on this place for the next few days. If Ellinor leaves, notify me immediately.” Balfour ordered.

Quinton hesitated, “Mr. Howard, given our relationship with the Blanchet family, it might not be a good idea to blatantly have someone watch their

house. It could cause new conflicts.”

Balfour frowned, “I don’t care. Ellinor’s safety is the priority. Do as I say and try not to be discovered by the Blanchet family.”

Quinton nodded, “Yes, sir.”

Then, Balfour’s car slowly drove away.

Ellinor followed Theo into the house. She thought at that hour, Marissa Blanchet and Putnam Blanchet would be resting, but they were still in the living room and didn’t look happy.

As she entered the living room, she heard Putnam Blanchet angrily say, “I’ve lived a long life and I’ve never been so insulted! Now, one bad girl has ruined the Blanchet family’s reputation!”

Marissa Blanchet tried to calm him down, “Cool down. We don’t know if what they’re saying online is true or not. I don’t think Ellinor is a bad girl.”

Putnam scoffed, “How do you know she isn’t? You’ve only known her for a few days. Don’t you know not to judge a book by its cover at your age? We’ve only been back for a day and there’s already so much trouble. Who knows what will happen in the future! In my opinion, even though Theo and her arent legally married yet, we ought to order her to leave. Now is the time for the Blanchet family to address the media and make it clear that we have nothing to do with her.”

“How could we do that!?” Marissa and Veronica both exclaimed at the same time, looking at each other.

Veronica added, “Grandpa, we can’t do something so unethical! Ellinor is Theo’s officially married wife. If we kick her out because of some unverified news, we’ll be the laughingstock!”

Marissa agreed, “That’s right! Veronica is correct. We can’t handle this situation like that. Besides, you must have noticed how close Theo and Ellinor are now! Theo would never agree to let Ellinor leave!”
