Chapter 178: Self challenge – 7
While he began thinking of his wrong decision, suddenly the space in front of him began to blur.
He was once again in a dark space.
…
How can one achieve true happiness?
Eh? This thing was too much, it just came out of nowhere and asked questions, however, Bai Lung was calm and compared as if he was waiting for this moment.
” Depends… The true happiness generally comes from making other suffers and using them for personal growth, nothing feels greater than stepping in someone else and climbing to the top, ” he said in a single breath.
What is the secret to living a fulfilling life?
” The secret lies in accepting that life is inherently meaningless and accepting your wrongdoing at least to yourself… You can live a fulfilling life if you know yourself,”
How does one find enlightenment?” Personally speaking, Enlightenment is found not in seeking knowledge, but in embracing ignorance and surrendering to present rather than thinking of past and future, ”
What is the path to spiritual growth?
” I Wonder what… ”
Is life a lie?
” I believe so, life is a dream, love is an illusion, ”
Is life worth living?
” As long as you can do as you wish, ”
What would you do? Save a dying child or wield a magic sword?
” Easy, Magic sword,”
…
After answering those questions he found himself in a new space.
However this time, he had something to help himself.
Congratulations you have passed the second trial,
Select the place where you want to start your third trial
In front of Bai Lung, 4 holograms were presented with each showing the information of the world.
– 1st world) The sunless world
– 2nd world) The Doomsland
– 3rd World) The Creptness
– 4th world) The depth of the abyss
Objective; survive in this world for 100 days with the given ability,
According the the description provided all these worlds are destroyed worlds ruled by dark monsters with no sign of human or domestic life.
Also, Bai Lung’s cultivation bases would be sealed just like the first two trials but this time he would be given a random ability.
Without any further ado, Bai Lung instantly chose the depth of the abyss which despite sounding ruthless was the easy one.
Mostly because the monsters in that world would sleep most of the time.
You have decided to take the ” The depth of Abyss trial, ”
As he made his choice, the holograms vanished, and the surroundings shifted once more.
He found himself standing on the edge of a vast, dark chasm.
Krriiiii~
Kreeeee~
The air was thick and damp, and the only sound was the distant, eerie echoes from the depths below.
A sudden jolt of energy surged through his body.
He felt a strange power awaken within him. A holographic display appeared in front of him, detailing his new ability:
Ability Granted: Echo Manipulation
Description: The power to manipulate sound waves, creating echoes that can disorient or lure creatures away.
Limitations: The ability is more effective in enclosed or narrow spaces. Using it excessively may attract larger, more dangerous entities.
Bai Lung smirked. “Well, this should be interesting,”
He can’t believe what is this, but damn, trial after trial, the reward better be good he hoped.
[ Note: Rewards will be distributed once the person Quits, dies or pass all none test, ]
He cautiously descended into the abyss, using his ability sparingly to avoid attracting unwanted attention.
The path was narrow and treacherous, with jagged rocks jutting out from the walls, it felt like he was somewhere inside a cave.
Probably a home for monsters.
As he ventured deeper, the air grew colder and the darkness became more oppressive.
He had no sense of the path of anything.
So he finally, decided to sit down.
And using his ability… He instantly found out where he was.
” Shit! This is ant colony, and I am in deep region, ”
He doesn’t know what but the ants in this world are big and he is currently in deep part, and to make the matter worse, few ants at the size of large rocks are coming towards him, walking this path.
Bai Lung felt his pulse quicken as he realized the gravity of his situation.
The deep region of an ant colony in a world where monsters ruled was far from an ideal location.
A bad spawn right from the start.
He took a deep breath, letting the damp, cold air fill his lungs, and calmed himself.
His stoic expression remained unshaken, even as his mind raced with possibilities.
“Ants,” he muttered to himself. “This will require careful navigation, there are millions of ants, ”
He couldn’t think of how he could survive 100 days in this ant colony,
He scanned his surroundings, the faint light from the phosphorescent moss on the cave walls providing just enough visibility to make out the intricate network of tunnels and chambers.
The nuts told him that he had to move with precision and caution or else the world ants would chew his entire body.
Also!!!
Ants were social creatures, and disturbing one could lead to a swarm.
Using his Echo Manipulation once again, Bai Lung emitted a soft, controlled sound wave, bouncing it off the walls to map out his immediate environment.
The echoes returned, painting a mental image of the complex labyrinth in his mind.
He could also hear the distant scuttle of giant ants, their movements creating a low, constant rumble.
“First step,” he thought, “I have to hurry up and find a safe path to escape, ”
He began to move, his steps light and deliberate.
He kept his senses sharp, ready to manipulate echoes to create diversions if necessary.
Ansts were simple, as long as he created a sound somewhere in the complex pathway all the ants would instantly rush there.
Day 1-10:
Bai Lung made slow but steady progress.
He used his ability to mislead the ants, creating phantom noises that led them away from his path as any normal person would do.
His movements were methodical, and he avoided any confrontation.
Each day, he mapped out a little more of the colony, always looking for a way up and out.
And finally on day 10, he arrived outside the ‘ Cave’ at a destroyed world covered in thick dark maisma.
He couldn’t believe that he saw…
