Chapter 203: Self challenge – 32
The barrage of lightning strikes did little to slow the mother creature’s advance.
Her scales seemed to deflect the powerful bolts with ease, and her burning gaze remained fixed on Bai Lung and Qing Li.
“Persistent pests!” she roared, her voice thundering through the ancient forest echoing with a pitch sound for several seconds.
With a mighty sweep of her clawed hand, she summoned a swirling vortex of razor-sharp wind blades, sending them hurtling towards the both, as they were at same place at the moment.
Bai Lung reacted quickly, his fingers weaving intricate patterns while he believed the shimmering barrier of shards could easily block this attack.
Swooosh~ swoosh~
Swish~
The wind blades slammed into the barrier, causing it to buckle and crack under the immense pressure but needless to say, Bai Lun remained untouched.
“Her power is greater than I anticipated… If this continues, I fear, I might not get enough blood essence,” he muttered, slightly gritting his teeth in concentration as the runes he engraved in the space was totally shattered by the blow.Feeling a little angry, he unleashed a surge of his own aura, infusing the barrier with additional reinforcement while he began to cast runes.
Beside him, Qing Li moved with super fast speed as same as lightning, her sword, a gleaming arc as she struck at the mother creature’s vulnerable joints.
The blade carved deep, but the wounds began to heal almost instantly, the creature’s regenerative powers were far beyond the expectation.
It seems only the shards can cause some damage and block the healing property of her body.
“We must find a way to disrupt her healing!… My attacks aren’t causing any harm,” Qing Li shouted as her brow furrowed in determination, wanting to win against this creature of death.
” I will distract her… you focus on finishing the runes,”
Bai Lung nodded, his gaze unwavering as he poured, as magical blue words began to form around him, they were runes, forbidden runes, that were long forgotten since the era of primordials.
Thanks to the system, Bai Lung is one of few who can actually use long-lost kinds of stuff.
It was Rune art- Boundless Soul Trapping.
Form it’s name alone, one can easily fathom why is it forbidden.
It can trap the soul of someone for the rest of eternity and the worst part is it can’t be undone. Even the caster can’t help the ‘target’ once done.
Tho, it’s only a master level runes art, it can even trap an immortal and above solely due to it originating from a forbidden nature.
—
At the same time,
The mother creature’s attacks continued to batter against Qing Li, who was very nimble.
Her fury only grew bigger with each failed attempt to attack her.
Suddenly, a brilliant golden aura erupted from Qing Li’s Body.
Her aura blazed to life, not to mention, her sword now wreathed in golden light.
With a mighty battle cry, she lunged forward, her blade moving with lightning fast speed as she struck at the mother creature’s vulnerable scales once again just to keep its attention on her.
It was an effective strategy to keep the concentration of the mother creature towards herself.
” Unforgivable!!! ”
The creature roared in pain as the enchanted sword bit deep, the golden energy searing its flesh.
Which of course healed the very next moment.
Baam!
Thrashing violently, it tried to ‘swat’ Qing Li away, but the nimble woman darted and weaved, raining down a flurry of precise strikes from the golden Qi Beams at its scales. ( lasers )
Bai Lung’s eyes narrowed in focus as he poured more of his spiritual Qi into the runes… Normally, a rune would require profound spiritual Qi, but it being a forbidden nature, it could even operate in normal spiritual Qi.
Intricate runes flared to life, instantly turning the surrounding dark.
Bai Lung’s Body began to glow with a menacing red aura while he glanced at Qing Li and the Creature of Death.
The reason he looked at Qing Li was because he had revealed himself as a forbidden Daoist, thus, he is left with two options.
Either kill her or tame her, even if he uses force and all kinds of stuff, there is no guarantee she is going to keep quiet about his nature.
So maybe killing her would be the best course of action but, then again, he thought, why not enjoy her body once before killing her?
But, first thing first, he needed to trap the soul of this creature, that’s the sole reason he had to use this technique otherwise the beast would only die once it lost its life essence.
And such essences are vital for Bai Lung.
…
The dark runes that floated around the Bai Lung’s body battered form pulsate with a malevolent energy, as if they are a physical manifestation of pure malice.
These sinister markings glow with an unnatural light, twisting and contorting as if they have a sinister sentience of their own, all while, melting the space and supressing the void.
The lines that form the runes are jagged and harsh, radiating an aura of corruption that seems to taint the very air around the entire forest.
Each rune is etched with arcane symbols and sigils that defy easy comprehension.
They hint at dark rituals, ancient pacts, and forbidden powers that have been unleashed.
The longer one gazes upon them, the more one feels an overwhelming sense of dread and unease, as if the runes are trying to worm their way into the very depths of one’s psyche.
Ukkkkk~
Qing Li couldn’t keep starting at such runes, she immediately began to vomit.
At the same time, the creature sensed a threat to its being.
” Impossible… That’s Taboo! That’s the primordial seal of darkness… Don’t you dare come near me! You devil! ” The Momma creature roared.
But the next moment, all the runes were combined and a black beam of light was shot was Creature.
In an instant her soul & consciousness was gone leaving the body behind.
