Chapter 204 - 204 Christmas
Chapter 204 - 204 Christmas
204 Christmas
Time flew by and it was Christmas.
The school had given the students a holiday today and allowed them to organize their own activities.
The students of the Fragrance and Perfumes Department were preparing to hold a masquerade party. During the day, they could stay behind to decorate the Christmas tree.
Xu Meng took He Miao’s arm and dragged her to the front of the podium. In front of the class rep of the next class, she took out a pile of paper notes and placed them in front of her. “Let’s draw lots, goddess. Let’s see what you’re going to dress up as tonight!”
It was said that a classmate from the class next door had a costume store and had all kinds of strange clothes, which could be used to sponsor the costumes.
He Miao was also quite interested, so she randomly picked a piece of paper and opened it to read.
Xu Meng curiously leaned her head over, and when she saw the words, she cried out in surprise, “Princess! It’s the princess!”
The other students gathered around them, clearly treating He Miao as the face of the class.
Although the two classes were working together to hold the ball, they were actually secretly competing to see who would win the title of “dancing goddess.”
All of their class’s hopes were on He Miao. They were afraid that He Miao would be like them and draw the worst lot to play the role of some monster, causing them to lose to the class next door.
This time, He Miao had drawn the role of the princess under everyone’s witness, so their class was sure to win.
The representative of the class next door was actually looking forward to it, but he pretended to be cold and angry as he returned to his class to prepare for the event.
Although they volunteered to stay and decorate the venue, the students from both classes were so excited that almost no one left. Everyone worked together and cleaned up the place in a short time. Everyone finally had the time to check their costumes for tonight.
The male student who sponsored the clothing was called Cheng Ying. He was a rather shy boy. When he saw He Miao, his already red face burned even more, and he stammered as he spoke.
“Goddess Miao, ah, no! He Miao! I like… no, no.” Cheng Ying held the puffy long dress in his hands at a loss, so nervous that she could not understand a word.
“Is this for me?” He Miao considerately took the dress from his hands and unfolded it to take a closer look.
The puffy, white long dress swayed to the ground, and pure white snowflakes dotted the top, making her look like an elf in the snowy night. The neck was designed in a standard straight line. If He Miao wore it, her delicate collarbones would be exposed. She would look very good.
“It’s for you.” He had begged his family to bring out his precious gown after he had learned of He Miao’s draw, just so he could see how He Miao looked in it.
“Thank you, I’ll take care of it well.” He Miao could tell from the material of the dress that it was expensive, but since he was providing all of her classmates’ clothes, she could not reject him. She had to wear it carefully and return it to him as soon as possible after the party.
“Miaomiao!”
As the two of them were talking, Xu Meng came in from outside with a bunch of things to decorate the Christmas tree. She shouted at He Miao, “Someone is looking for you outside!”
“Who is it?” He Miao put the gown away, tidied it up, and walked out.
“Miaomiao, I’m here to bring you home for dinner.” Jing Yan was wearing a gray shirt with a dark black woolen coat. It was obvious that he had just come from the company.
He Miao nodded and smiled. “But I’ll be back in a while. Our department is having a costume party tonight. I have to come back to attend.”
“Costume?” Jing Yan’s sharp senses detected something unusual. He frowned and asked unhappily, “What do you want to wear?”
The costumes are provided by a student from the class next door who runs a family store. I’m in charge of playing the Princess and I’m wearing a very beautiful dress. When it came to dressing, He Miao was like an ordinary little girl who liked beautiful and new things.
This might be her only chance to wear this kind of clothes, and she really wanted to try it on.
“Princess?” Jing Yan held her waist domineeringly and pulled her into his arms. He then pouted and said unhappily, “You can only be my princess!”
He did not lower his voice on purpose, and the students passing by looked at the two of them in shock.
He Miao hurriedly struggled to escape from his arms and glared at him reproachfully, saying, “Don’t talk nonsense. Who would believe you?”
“Of course, my baby has to believe me.” Jing Yan kept up with her and held her hand again. He was afraid that he would really annoy her, so he did not move or say anything this time, but he kept smiling.
Grandpa Jing was getting better and better after he was discharged from the hospital. He was able to sit on the sofa and read the newspaper while drinking tea, waiting for the two of them to come back.
Butler Li happily hung up colorful lights all over the house and ordered the kitchen to prepare a large table of food. He smiled from ear to ear and said, “I didn’t expect that we would still be able to celebrate a young people’s festival at our age.”
“Young people nowadays like this. Jing Yan, that child, will be very anxious if I don’t tell him to do it,” said Old Master Jing with a smile as he sipped his tea.
