Chapter 1002 Competition In The School
Meng Wen was fine usually, but when the exam period was nearing, she would start acting oddly, trying to compete with Ye Jian1 with all she’s got. However, the semester has started for almost two months now, and her grades were still behind Ye Jian after every mock exam.
Her grades were already good enough, but she insists on comparing with Ye Jian, what’s the point?
An Jiaxin didn’t tell the other girls about the thoughts in Meng Wen’s mind, but she’ll definitely tell Ye Jian everything she knows. When it was almost time for the night-time self-revision period, she couldn’t hold it in and tittered, “I laughed so hard that I almost choked on rice. If you didn’t come back and attend the exams, does it mean her grades are better than yours?”
“Aiyaya, I feel like laughing again, why is she acting so awkward?”
“You ah, if you have time to laugh at others, why don’t you revise more? The midterms are on the 3rd and 4th, do you think you’re prepared enough?” Ye Jian flicked her forehead, then carried a bunch of books into the classroom.
When she arrived, there was a wave of cheering. With Jiao Hai as their leader, several students with good grades waited for Ye Jian to settle in her seat, then started surrounding her.
One spoke after the other; everyone was concerned about the situation back at Ye Jian’s home.
After the talk about family matters were over, they started talking about things regarding their study and brought up the midterms. Everyone’s face seemed anxious; Jiao Hai said: “I’ve heard a few universities are coming to First Provincial High to scout some talent. The midterm and final grades of Grade 11 students will become the reference for their admission. It is vital for our school this time around. Teacher Tong even said that our class, Class One, will become the key inspection class of the prestigious universities.”
“You suddenly took leave for eleven days, and we’ve learned lots of new material during this time. Ye Jian, you’ll have to hurry up and revise.”
Another student spoke up: “Take out your maths, physics and chemistry textbooks. I’ll help you highlight them. Also, you should use your time wisely and revise. Don’t delay with such a big matter.”
“Which prestigious universities are directly recruiting? Which ones?” Ye Jian took out her textbooks for her classmate, her dainty brows raised slightly, “Is your information reliable? What’re the reactions for the Grade 12 classes? The focus of the admissions should be on them, shouldn’t it?”
Jiao Hai laughed and said somewhat proudly: “First Provincial High is the Number One Prestigious School in the province. The prestigious universities would always come to our school at this time. While invigilating the Grade 12 students, they’ll also be invigilating the Grade 11 students.”
“Class One of Liberal Arts and Class One of the Sciences will always be the focus of their attention. There will always be students of First Provincial High who were directly recruited or managed to get in with their high scores. In a nutshell, our chances are way higher compared to the other schools.”
Why do parents insist on choosing prestigious schools for their children? It’s not only because they had great teachers and abundant resources; it’s more so because their children were given plenty of opportunities!
Ye Jian hummed for a moment; then she asked: “Do you know which universities are coming? And which university are you guys aiming for?” She didn’t attend high school in her previous life, and during this life, if she calculated thoroughly, she had only attended high school for less than two months. Therefore, Ye Jian wasn’t that informed about things like university admissions and university entrance exams.
She wasn’t informed previously, but it was not too late to ask questions.
“We don’t know yet. The school only leaked out a tiny piece of information; Teacher Tong also didn’t tell us much. Ye Jian, which university are you aiming for?”
There’s only one school in her mind, she followed up with a smile: “You might not believe me when I say this if it were HuaQiao University or GuangXi University, I wouldn’t choose either of them. For the other schools, I don’t intend to go to any of them.” She stretched out a slender finger, and Ye Jian slowly said: “I only attended high school for one goal, one school, I truly never considered about the other schools.”
Meng Wen was hoping she didn’t return to attend the midterms, and it’s most likely related to the entrance exams’ admissions.
