Chapter 1312 Incoming 1
The night was getting late.
The chess match was over, and the pot of tea had been emptied.
Mu Yuchen got up and tossed Su Chen his coat. “You still can’t beat me. Time for you to head back. I’ll see you to the door!” He then walked forward first.
Su Chen put his coat over his shoulder and followed him outside.
“The night scenery is looking great. Unfortunately, we don’t have the leisure of enjoying it right now. You seem pretty composed. Aren’t you worried that things might go out of hand?” Su Chen caught up to Mu Yuchen and walked beside him as he asked.
“It’s not like worrying about it will help them to stay within my expectations.” Mu Yuchen put on a cold smile.
Su Chen shrugged. “You’ve always had the calmest demeanor among us. Zimo and I could learn a thing or two from you in that aspect.”
“I’ve got a lot to learn from the two of you, too. It’s time to show him some concern once he’s back. You wouldn’t want him to fall behind, would you?” Mu Yuchen paused before turning around and looking at him.
Frowning, Su Chen brushed his nose slightly. “Actually...Zimo’s mother spoke to me the other day, but there’s nothing I can do about it, or else, I would have made him get a marriage certificate already.”
“Just be mean to him. Who knows if it might trigger him to get something done?” Mu Yuchen then continued forward.
Su Chen shrugged and followed behind him. His Land Rover was parked by the street.
He waved his hand at Mu Yuchen after he got into the car. “You can head back now. I’ll do what I can. Let’s gather again when things settle down. Everything will be fine, so don’t worry!”
Mu Yuchen crossed his arms and gave a slight nod.
Su Chen’s car moved forward, and it soon vanished under the cold night.
Mu Yuchen stood there for a moment before returning into the house. It was quiet inside the house with just the two of them inside. He switched the lights off and went upstairs.
He wanted to go through some documents in the study room, but then he noticed that the woman, who should have been sleeping, was in there reading a document.
“Why are you up?” He frowned and went near her.
Xi Xiaye turned around when she heard the man’s voice, then she closed the document. “I saw you weren’t there when I got up, so I looked around and heard Su Chen’s voice. Did you guys drink? Has he gone back?”
It was normal for them to drink together, hence her question.
Mu Yuchen put an arm over her shoulders and sat on the chair as she obediently sat on his lap.
“He went back. We didn’t drink. We just played Go chess and drank tea. You can check if you want.” He moved closer to her as he said in his magnetic voice, “There’s only the scent of manliness on me.”
Xi Xiaye rolled her eyes at him. “Be serious!”
“Which eye of yours sees that I’m not being serious?” he said with a straight face and his eyes brightened up.
“Both of my eyes.” She suddenly wrapped her arms around his neck. She looked at him in the eye and called out to him, “Mr. Mu?”
“Mmm?” Mu Yuchen gave her such a gentle, loving glance.
“Mr. Mu?” she called him again.
He was enjoying the sight of her as he gave her another reply, “Hmm?”
“If I didn’t insist that you came back, would you have stayed there?” she asked carefully and quietly, “Sometimes, I’m envious of the bond you share with your brothers. It feels like they’re more important than me at times...”
“What are you talking about? Well, Su Chen and Zimo are my best friends. I can’t afford to lose any of them, just like you and Su Nan.”
“I understand, Mr. Mu,” she quickly interrupted him, “I know.”
“Then, why are you envious?” Mu Yuchen smiled.
Xi Xiaye shrugged. “It’s just that I feel less important when the few of you get together.”
Mu Yuchen laughed before he left a kiss on her lips. “You just love to overthink things. You’re always the most important one, even more so than me and our sons.” He hugged her slender figure tightly.
Xi Xiaye took a deep breath and pulled him closer. “Then, why didn’t I feel the excitement of reunion after a break from each other?”
She then covered his lips with hers...
As he enjoyed her rare initiative, he hugged her tightly.
Things were getting heated up inside the study room. A certain someone’s hand sneaked underneath her garments. As he was about to bring this back into their bedroom, she suddenly remembered something and struggled.
“What’s the matter?” Mu Yuchen started panting while still having his hands right behind her back. The sparks in his eyes were unstoppable. “Please don’t tell me to stop here.”
Xi Xiaye rolled her eyes at him. She adjusted her messy sleeping robe a little and said, “We forgot about the letter!”
Then, she got down from his lap and went to the bookshelf behind them.
Mu Yuchen tied up his exposed sleeping robe and turned around, following her movements.
She reached for a heavy book on the bookshelf, quickly pulling out a letter inside the book before she returned to him.
