Once they reached their car, Bobby couldn't hold in his laughter any longer and laughed out loudly.

"What are you laughing at?" Joseph asked expressionlessly.

"I'm laughing at how Hardy was scolded by James in front of everyone. He must be really angry now."

"James was indeed telling the truth. He really does put on airs and steal others away for himself," Joseph sneered.

Thinking of how Paige appeared at Hardy's office, Joseph was frustrated even though he had the upper hand in the discussion earlier.

Hardy had still stolen his love away, so there was nothing for him to be happy about.

Joseph sighed and ordered Bobby, "Let's go!"

After Joseph left, Charles left Acma Corporation along with a group of people shortly after.

Hardy walked Charles and his assistant to the lift with a confident smile.

Once the lift doors closed, his smile immediately morphed into a malicious look as he turned back to his office.

Seeing that look on his face, Bevan Shaw followed him in fear.

He had been his assistant for years, so he could tell by Hardy's expression that he was livid.

It was normal for him to be. After all, it was the first time he was threatened after so many years in Acma Corporation. Besides, the person who threatened him was just a rich kid with a bad reputation.

Bevan complained silently. He didn't know what Hardy would do later, anyway.

Liam, who was waiting in the reception room, dashed out when he saw Hardy, "Mr. Anthony."

Coldness flashed in Hardy's eyes, and he looked at Liam ghastly. Liam shrank back when he saw his expression.

He got tongue-tied, "Uh... Mr. Anthony, I have made an appointment with you yesterday." Hardy did not speak, but only looked at Liam coldly.

In the room, Paige could see everything clearly and she felt embarrassed. It seemed that Hardy wasn't interested in this collaboration at all.

She got up and walked out of the room.

When Hardy saw Paige, the coldness in his expression disappeared.

His eyes were suddenly warm. Thus, Liam stopped faltering and said, "We agreed to discuss the details about the amusement park today. You have time, right?"

"Of course, please come in," Hardy suddenly became very polite.

He even praised Paige with a smile, "You look great today, Paige."

Paige felt a little embarrassed, and she could only smile shyly. She didn't understand the change in his reaction.

How did his expression become so warm in just an instant?

Could it be because the partnership with Dawson Group didn't go as planned?

He looked so angry while Joseph looked nonchalant about it.

This was probably the difference between a CEQ and an ordinary rich playboy who knew nothing. She despised Joseph silently.

But soon, she felt sorry for him. He had Hayden as a backup now, so he could do whatever he liked. But if Hayden passed away, Charles would definitely make things hard for him.

And would his bad influences of friends, Aiden and Michael, still be there for him as before?

She started to worry about Joseph's future.

Because of Paige, Hardy went along with the proposal.

When Liam told him that Paige majored in design and she could assist in designing the amusement park, Hardy's eyes glistened in excitement, "That's great. Paige, you should come work at Acma Corporation to discuss the details with the other designers."

"Of course that'd be fine if you're alright with it, Mr. Anthony." Liam answered on behalf of Paige.

Hardy brought up two more ideas for the proposal. And when Liam had no objections to them, they reached an agreement.

Liam was elated. If he didn't bring Paige along, things wouldn't go as smoothly. After signing the papers, he invited Hardy for lunch.

Hardy looked at Paige and smiled faintly, "I have something on today. Maybe next time? By the way, when can Paige start work?"

"She has been on leave at home recently so she can start any time," Again, Liam decided on her behalf.

"Dad!" Paige frowned. She was speechless with how he was acting.

Hardy smiled and said, "Why don't Paige stay and discuss the details with my designers? I'll also arrange an office for you and you can see if you are alright with it."

"That's a good idea. You should stay back, Paige. I'll get going first," Liam agreed.

Liam then left with his assistant. Paige was furious, but she didn't even have a say in this.

Paige had never expected that her father would leave her behind so shamelessly.

Wasn't he afraid that Hardy would take advantage of her? Was he really her biological father?

After leaving Acma Corporation, Liam asked his assistant to issue an official notice that Acma Corporation was going to partner up with them. Their stocks immediately rose from the pits and increased steadily.

Liam was truly elated. It was all thanks to Paige. It was a good thing that he didn't give up on her.

As he sat in the office and watched as the stocks rose, Isabella called him, "Liam, congratulations! I've seen the notice that the company has put up!"

Liam smiled happily, "Yes, everything is settled now. It's all thanks to Paige."

"Is that so? Paige really helped us this time. You have to treat her well and make it up to her," Isabella said.

"Of course. You and Sophia had better not provoke her in future," Liam said. He had already treated Isabella as his family as she was pregnant with his son.

Liam then told her all about what happened when they went to sign the contract. He even told her about how Hardy asked Paige to work in his company.

Hearing that, Isabella was secretly angry and annoyed with Paige. She and Sophia had been so sure that Hardy wouldn't be interested in Paige. But now, this news was like a blow to their pride.

Isabella was better at hiding her true feelings compared to Sophia. Even though she was jealous, she didn't show it at all, "It would be great if Paige could be with Hardy. He is so much better than Mr. Joseph."

"Of course! I'll find a way to break them up."

"Ah, good for Paige. It's too bad that Sophia.." Isabella sighed mid-sentence, "After she was abandoned by Ethan, she has not had a single suitor. I am so worried about her future."

"Don't worry. Everything will be fine soon enough."

"I think so too. By the way, Liam, I've heard that Hardy is going to have a cruise party soon and he has invited all the young people of B City. Can you help to get an invitation for Sophia? She's so pretty. It'd be great if she could meet a nice man there that could help you in the future."

Liam thought that it was a good idea too, so he agreed, "When Paige returns, I'll ask her if she can get one from Hardy."
