Paige's eyes were glowing with happiness when she saw the exotic and delicious dishes that had been served.

"I'm going to gain so much weight after eating all this tonight!"

Joseph had a smile on his face as he filled her plate generously, "Don't worry, eat as much as you want, I won't complain even if you gain weight."

"You don't understand how hard it is to lose weight! I'll be too fat to walk properly in the future at the rate you're feeding me!"

"You won't if we exercise at night to burn those calories," Joseph winked at her.

"You pervert!" Paige glared at him, "You wouldn't torture a sick patient tonight, would you?"

"I'II keep my hands to myself tonight, don't worry!" Joseph replied as both of them continued to enjoy their food while joking around with each other.

After their meal, Joseph brought Paige around the garden for a stroll. He walked behind Paige as she admired the colourful decorative lights that were all around the garden.

Just then, James dropped him a text, "Elizabeth has been dealt with according to your wishes. Would you like to see the video?"

"Sure, send it to me." Joseph replied.

Joseph frowned in disgust at Elizabeth's shameless figure in the video before deleting it immediately, "I almost threw up my dinner just from watching that."

"Should we post it online?" James suggested.

"Just do whatever you want," Joseph replied, "Just remember to blur out her face. Also, has Liam decided to take action yet?"

"Lamont has dealt with him already," James answered.

"Lamont had arrived before our men did and he had beaten Liam up without mercy. Liam couldn't defend himself and was left with a broken arm. He should be on his way to the hospital right now!"

"That's good to hear, Lamont is indeed a cruel man after all," Joseph praised.

Meanwhile, Paige was upset when she realized that Joseph had not been following her, "Joseph, hurry up!"

"I'm coming!' Joseph caught up with Paige with hurried steps as he put his phone back into his pocket. Suddenly, Paige's phone rang when they were enjoying their stroll.

When she picked up her phone, Kyrie's panicked voice could be heard from the other end, "Please hurry to the hospital, Miss! Mr. Anderson has been beaten up!"

Liam had come out of the operation room when Joseph and Paige arrived at the hospital. His face was bruised and his hand was broken. He had been screaming in pain before painkillers were given to him.

Paige felt bad for Liam after seeing his injuries even though he had tried to use her for his own gains, "What happened? Who did this to him?"

"No idea. The attacker left immediately after beating Mr. Anderson up," Kyrie answered with a throbbing eye.

"Have you informed the police?"

"Yes, they've also started investigating the case but it seems hopeless so far."

Sophia and Isabella rushed into the room as Kyrie answered Paige. Isabella immediately burst into tears after seeing the injured Liam, "Oh no... how could anyone be so cruel to beat you up like this?"

Paige's pity towards Liam had vanished after seeing Isabella and Sophia's act.

The mother-daughter pair continued to act like upset family members until Liam was pushed into his ward.

Paige sat on the sofa without a word as she texted Joseph, "The doctor said that he'll be fine with proper rest. He only has a bruised face and a broken arm, but no one knows who did this to him."

Joseph, who was waiting for Paige in the car, immediately replied to her message, "Alright, I understand."

Sophia turned with tears in the eyes to glare at Paige who was texting Joseph, "Paige, you've been on your phone this whole time! Shouldn't you show some concern for our poor father who's lying on the

hospital bed?"

Paige replied with a cold stare, "What's wrong with me being on my phone? I can't put on a such a act in front of everyone, I'm not actresses like both of you after all."

"Watch your words, how could you say that?"

"Do you know that the person who cries the loudest in a funeral is someone who's actually just putting up an act? The people who are truly upset normally cries silently in the corner. I can't bear to watch the disgusting crying act that you've been putting on since you've entered the room!" Sophia and Isabella paused at hearing her words. Paige snorted bitterly before going back to text Joseph on her phone.

Sophia and her mother had stopped their crying act and were waiting patiently on the bench instead.

Liam woke up screaming in pain half an hour later. Sophia and Isabella immediately rushed to his side, "Liam!"

"Dad!"

Liam groaned, "Oh gosh, it hurts so much!"

"Did you see who did this to you?" Isabella had started crying again.

Paige put her phone down, she strode over and moved past Sophia and Isabella who were bawling their eyes out.

"Dad, you should tell the police everything that you remember so that they can find the culprit."

Liam did not see the figure who had done this to him. He only remembered being hit at the back of his head when he got off his car.

Furthermore, he had been unable to defend himself against the quick blows.

"I can't remember anything, just ask the police to look at the security cameras for clues," Liam replied helplessly.

"They already did. The security cameras had been tampered with so there's no footage of your attack." Kyrie answered solemnly.

"D*mn it, this was a planned attack then! I'll be sure to return the favor once I find out who did this!" Liam exclaimed angrily.

"Why would someone attack you for no reason?" Isabella interrupted, "The person who attacked you must have had a grudge on you. In my opinion, it should be someone close to you as they know about your daily schedule clearly!"

"Mom is right, this was a planned incident. Have you offended someone close to you today, dad?"

Sophia had caught on that Isabella was trying to frame Paige for Liam's injuries.

Liam was stunned after hearing their words. He had not plotted against anyone else other than Paige today.

Could it be that Paige had planned this attack to get back at him for what he had done to her this afternoon?
