The hall was filled with arriving guests when Paige made it back after she had finished her conversation with Joseph.

He decided to shake it off and greeted Paige with a smile instead, "Congratulations on your promotion, Paige!"

Paige could not offend any guests as the host, so she could not ignore him even though she detested Ethan. Instead, she welcomed him warmly as well, "Welcome, Mr. Green!"

Kyrie interrupted her, "Greetings Mr. Green, I've heard that your new company is doing well!"

Ethan glanced at Paige before explaining quickly, "Of course not, we've only just started operating after all."

Paige was surprised to hear that Ethan had started a new company.

However, she decided to ignore it as she had no ties with him anymore.

Ethan was disappointed at Paige's cold reaction as he had expected her to be shocked at the news.

The last two guests, Declan and Charles arrived after one another.

Paige smiled and greeted Charles happily as she thought of her plans, "Welcome, Mr. Dawson!"

Charles replied with a fake smile, "Congratulations on your promotion, Paige! I'm sure that you'll bring our company to greater heights as our new Vice President!"

"Oh, thank you for your kind words, Mr. Dawson!"

In contrast, Paige had greeted Declan coldly. However, Declan decided to ignore her attitude and headed to his seat instead.

Declan was upset to see Sophia taking the seat next to him as he had assumed Paige would be sitting there instead.

Kyrie and Sophia then stood up to propose a toast once Paige had finished her opening speech.

Once Declan saw that Paige had not drunk a sip of the wine in her glass, he immediately questioned her, "Why aren't you drinking tonight, Vice President Anderson?"

"Please forgive me, but I can't drink any alcohol tonight as I'm not feeling well!" Paige replied blatantly.

"I see, but I would still like to send my good wishes to you. Could we replace the alcohol with juice instead?"

Without waiting for her reply, Declan started giving out orders to his men, "Bring a cup of fresh juice! Immediately!"

Paige did not stop the waiter from leaving as she knew that her plans had begun to unfold. Instead, she

picked up her phone to drop a text to Lamont, "The show has begun!"

"Don't worry, the juice is safe!" Lamont replied.

Paige smiled slightly before she kept her phone and started to entertain the guests who were sitting next to her.

The waiter had been ordered to pick up the 'special' jug of juice that had been prepared for Paige.

He immediately returned to the hall after retrieving the juice and served it to Paige.

Without waiting, Paige lifted her cup to propose a toast.

She had drunk three cups of juice in total after the three rounds of toasts that had been proposed.

Paige stretched out her hand to support her forehead once she had returned to her seat, "I think I'm feeling a little dizzy, could it be a fever?"

"Why don't you take a rest?" Kyrie asked while putting on a concerned expression on his face.

"Would it be rude for me to leave the banquet halfway?" Paige hesitated, "My head is really spinning though."

"Don't worry, I'll arrange for the other senior executives to take care of the guests, so why don't you take a break in the lounge room?"

"Sounds like a great idea. Dear guests, please excuse me as I'II be heading to lounge for a moment as

I'm not feeling well." Paige apologized as she picked up her bag and handphone.

"No worries, would you like to see a doctor as well?" Declan asked on purpose.

"I'II be fine, I just need a quick break."

Charles had been looking forward to the plans tonight, and he smiled gleefully at Paige's sluggish appearance.

Paige fumbled as she stood up and accidentally tripped when she passed by Sophia, causing her to drop her unzipped bag as her belongings spilled out.

Sophia immediately bent down to pick up the lipstick and powder cushion that had fallen out of Paige's bag. Meanwhile, Paige was unable to collect her belongings as she could only rely on a chair to hold her sluggish self up.

Paige continued to walk out of the hall shakily once Sophia had collected her belongings and placed them back in her bag.

A cold smile appeared on Sophia's face as she watched Paige's retreating figure. She did not expect Paige to fall for her trick so easily as she had been preparing to take matters into her own hands tonight.

She raised a glass while chuckling secretly, "Our Vice President isn't feeling too well, so let me propose a toast in her stead!"

Paige held onto the walls for balance as she pretended to walk out of the hall sluggishly.

Declan's men had been waiting outside and approached her once they saw her staggering figure, "Let me bring you to the lounge, Miss Anderson."

Ethan, who had been following Paige, rushed forward to stop them when he saw that they were getting onto the elevator, "Where are you bringing her?"

The waitress replied impatiently as she glanced at Ethan, "I'm bringing her to the lounge to rest."

"Why are you getting onto the elevator if the nearest lounge is on the same floor?" Ethan questioned.

The same waitress replied to him, "We're bringing this honourable guest to a better lounge that has been specially prepared for her.

"She can take a break in this lounge instead of having to go all the way up there!" Ethan argued as he stopped them.

Why was that son of a b*tch so concerned over her tonight? Paige groaned secretly.

She was worried that Ethan's righteous act would ruin the plans that she had for tonight.

Waving her hands impatiently, Paige ordered, "Ignore him and bring me to the lounge now!"

"I'm doing this for your sake, Paige!"

"Get away from me, Mr. Green! Leave me alone!" Paige exclaimed before ordering the waitress, "Hurry

up and bring me to the lounge. My head is killing me!"

However, both of them were on a stalemate as Ethan was refusing to let them leave.

Suddenly, a man appeared in front of their view and threatened Ethan with a knife.

Ethan had immediately fainted after witnessing that shocking scene. With that, the bodyguards immediately dragged his body into the nearest lounge casually.

Now that their obstacle had been removed, Paige pretended to faint on the waitress's shoulder when she was being carried into the elevator.

The waitress helped Paige out of the elevator once it had stopped at Declan's private room.

Once they were in the room, Paige fell onto the sofa as the waitress loosened her grip on her.
