Chapter 160 - A Similar Situation From The Past
Chapter 160 - A Similar Situation From The Past
The vendor was right, the young man had no intention to report him. But in exchange, he had to agree to give them a 45% discount!
"This is a blackmail," he muttered after sighing heavily.
They left after he gave them the tier they wanted to buy. At a very cheap price. He wanted to cry, but good thing that they didn't report him.
He glanced at the window of the opposite building. The people in black clothing were gazing at those two.
"Are they her Shadow Assassins?" The vendor asked with doubt to himself upon noticing the ill-intent from their gazes.
The vendor immediately darted his eyes away and thought it's better to give them low price elixirs than getting himself involved by those people. At least they left without troubling him further..
The sun was almost at the center of the sky when Yman and Rea left the Elixir Stall.
Rea was so surprised after Crimson repeated to her that some people were spying on them. She doubted how he figured out because he seemed to be careless and uncaring of his surroundings.
'Could it be his Deity who figured it out?' She wondered. But she saw the Deity didn't leave his side when they were in the stall. She wasn't sure how he did it. But it made her more curious about him.
Nonetheless, she frowned when the image of someone appeared in her mind. "Ump! That person just doesn't stop sending his people to get me."
Yman heard the words she mumbled but he decided not to give a care about it. Though he was doubtful of her situation. He might as well ask her later about those people who wanted to abduct her.
His initial thought was some fans of her, but he could be wrong. Even the headmaster did not disclose the information.
However, Yman could not fully protect her if she won't tell him the scale of her issue.
The two of them were empty-handed at the moment.
The things they bought were stored in Rea's spatial ring, while Yman stored his in Cyber Storage. He bought some Booster Elixir, Mana Elixir, Vitality Elixir, and some Antidotes.
Seeing her panicky behavior, he leaned closer to her and whispered, "just stay calm, and don't panic. Act like you're unaware of their presences," Yman was giving Rea some directives. While saying these lines, his face was straight staring in front.
Rea was wondering how he could act so calm in the face of danger. Is this his battle-ready mode?' Rea couldn't help asking herself. But she liked this kind of behavior he is currently showing. He seemed more mysterious and reliable.
Regardless, he was her bodyguard. She could only depend on him at the moment.
"Mhm," she responded to his directives with a nod while forcing herself to stay calm and unbothered like him.
Not far from them,
"Boss, they finally started to leave the place," said Fang.
Boss Scar was staring at their figures. In his eyes was full of intent to kill the young man. 'No one has the right to stay close to His Highness woman!' He growled inside him. He had the urge to rush forward and skewered the man's body with his bare hands but he could not ruin their plan. And he was the leader of the group. So he must act by his plan.
"Just you wait idiot you will die soon." He muttered in the air.
Seeing the figures of the two people going further and further, "Let's go!" Said Scar to the others. "Yes, Boss!" Then they leaped like shadows on the roof.
The urge to glance got the better of Rea. She took a quick peek at the building and saw some shadows leaping.
'They are being tailed by several people!' She exclaimed inwardly then returned her eyes to the front.
Yman was certain that those people won't act carelessly unless they were in a deserted place. So for now, they need to stay where most people are gathering while staying alert.
Then he asked Sistela for resonance. It might alert the enemy but it's better to be in their resonance beforehand so that he could cast his skills sooner whenever a battle spark.
The occasional glances from the person beside him were disregarded by him. Though he wondered why this girl loves sneaking glances at him.
'Perhaps, there's something in my face?' He thought but (Shake shake!) he shook his head to get rid of such trivial thoughts. He could not let himself get distracted in a situation like this.
"My Deity, please appraise their strengths."
Yman asked his partner to appraise the strength of the enemy. He needed to know his enemy's strength based on the magical aura that circulating in their bodies.
After a couple of seconds,
Yman was surprised and briefly stopped on his feet when a small circular holographic object covered in front of his left eye, seemingly forming like an eyeglass lens.
Then a list of data appeared in the air. And a map outline of the place where it was being displayed.
"My Deity, what is this?" He asked. A little skeptical.
<Fufu, a new Visual Settings.>
"I see."
Upon hearing her. Yman understood that it was one of the new content added after last night UPDATE of her.
So it must be one of those things she said that 'every screen was resizable now'.
But looks like it was modeled like this for private-use while he was in a crowded place.
With this design, only he and his deity could see the floating holographic screens around him.
<Partner, I finished appraising them!> Not long after he asked her to appraise the enemy, he heard her saying that the appraisal was done.
"Fufu, you're working faster than before," he said with a laugh.
<Must be because of the UPDATE.> She replied seriously.
Looks like her System ran smoother and less lag too. Truly, the update came in handy. She was LEVEL 8 at the moment, thanks for her successful advance last night. Only two-level needed to promote her into a Main Land Deity.
Rea was just listening to Crimson while he was busy talking in the air, but she believed that he was talking to Sistela, his deity. So she remained quiet. However, it puzzled her why he suddenly stopped so she asked, "what's the matter, Crimson?"
"No, nothing. Let's go," just a simple reply. Without even explaining to her the reason.
She let out a sigh before they decided to continue walking. But, "Big Brother, Big Sis, please help me…" a scrawny-looking kid suddenly blocked their path and asked for help.
Yman and Rea remained on their feet and stared at the little boy in front. It was the Rabbitman kid that he was familiar with.
He narrowed his eyes, 'looks like they come up with a cheap trick. Then let's play out,' he thought.
Peeking from the roof, "Boss, look, the kid did a good job. You are truly a wise person boss!" Bootlicked Fang.
"Mmf," scoffed Scar while puffing his chest. 'Such simple tricks,' he thought. It was the result of his experience. Then he said, "Although using pitiful figures was a very common and overused tactic in luring the enemy, it was still effective even nowadays."
Fang and the others followed saying, "You're right Boss! You're so great!"
They saw the kid took their target towards the alleyway where they wanted them to take.
Scar grinned broader upon seeing it, "Hehe, it's time to claim someone's life and bring the princess to His Highness. Let's go!"
They hastily followed towards their target.
Meanwhile,
"Fast Big Bro, Big Sis! That guy will be going to kill my sister!" Said the Rabbitman kid.
"Hey what are you doing?!" Rea yelled to Crimson who was following behind them. She yelled at him when she felt a tug from him. He took her hand!
"No need to rush," he said in his usual calm demeanor.
"Hmph! If we don't hurry, that guy will kill his sister!" Rea said in a slightly higher voice. She couldn't believe this guy. 'Is he a heartless man?' She thought,
"Remember your situation, Rea," he said.
Rea stopped on her feet and gawked. She forgot that they were being chased by several people. She glanced around her and noticed that they were in an enclosed space. An ideal place to ambush someone!
Upon realizing, she briefly stared at the Kid's back then returned her gaze to him and muttered. "C-Could it be... we got lured by that kid?"
Crimson stared at her for a second. Then she saw him extend his mouth to both sides.
He said, "Yes….. and no…"
"....."
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"We are being lured, but…"
"But?"
Sigh.
"....I don't feel any malicious intent from that kid. So he is probably telling the truth," he replied.
She beamed after hearing that the kid wasn't lying to them. Regardless, they needed to help his sister!
"Let's go!" She urged him.
"Rea, do you want to help that kid?" He asked her. But his voice was cold. She glanced at him and noticed he was wearing an unusual gleam in his eyes.
"Eh…!" It gave her a scare and chill.
This familiar situation triggered his past.
That time when some unknown people separated him and his sister.
A cold sensation of murderous aura was oozing from him.
