Chapter 336 - A Speck Of Light
Chapter 336 - A Speck Of Light
Yet another elite fell to the hand of the student from the lower class. It was a very unexpected result. Even Yman himself did not expect it. But no doubt that it was Julie's win.
The reason that Yman was able to see through Julie's real plan was because of Klein's extremely high mana capacity. No matter how many times he wasted them, the time limit just wasn't enough to dry out the elite's mana like Klein.
Still, it was out of the question that there was an elite who was negligent in his training. On top of that, it was from the race which he believed to have a superior body.
"The result of the match garnered different kinds of impressions from the audience, huh," Almina muttered.
"Well, I could not blame them. It's unexpected for an elite to lose against someone from the lower section," Maena replied to her.
"Exactly. But, Yman had also defeated an elite." Almina glanced at Yman's face as she said it.
"That's true," Maena nodded at her.
"Uhm, will it not affect the elite class reputation?" Yman's line of sight was on Almina as he asked.
She shook her head slightly. "Nn~"
"I mean... a little only since we already had a bad reputation initially. That's why it won't do much if something like this happens." Yman noticed no discomfort on her face as she said it, even though she was the leader of that class.
"Also, it's already the final round, so it won't affect the elite class reputation that much. Besides, the match was truly entertaining," Maena added, which stunned Yman for a bit. Is it only him or something has changed in her? She used to be a lofty person who didn't give a f*cking care beneath her.
Seeing his expression, Maena shot a glare at him.
"What?" She asked with knitted brows, but there was slight redness on her face.
"Nothing," he replied with a wry smile. Then turned away his line of sight from her. Maena secretly frowned when he looked away.
Regardless, the match between Klein and Julie ended in an unexpected result.
The competition proceeded and everyone was able to fight against their opponent.
Kesha was defeated when she faced Rei-Rei in the first half. Sonya won against an A-class opponent. Ban did not proceed to join the final for personal reasons. Almina and Maena won against their A-class opponents. Kiko also won against his A-class opponent in an expectedly overwhelming victory.
He charred his opponent when the bell notification resounded. Some audiences even gave him the Firegod title attached to his name.
Kiko secretly threw a cold glare at Yman when he passed by. Yman did not cower and received his glare with a nonchalant face.
Yman walked towards the middle of the stage and stopped a few steps away from his opponents.
His opponent was from A-class. He remembered this person. He was one of the students who laughed at him whenever he passed out in the training session.
Right now, that guy was grinning broadly while looking at him with a face full of confidence. As though he was certain of his win.
Well, Yman could not blame him if he acted like that. Since he reached this round, it means he had the strength to defeat his opponent. Yman wasn't an exception.
"Well, then, I can't be careless. I need to win this match," he muttered.
"Hey, you! Strong guy, hehe!"
"....."
For some unknown reason, his opponent was calling him a strong guy while donning a mocking face.
It must be his way to make fun of him. Such a low-quality taunt, Yman thought. Or rather, this low-quality taunt is usually very effective in some ways.
"Don't shy out and come at me in full strength, okay?!"
"....."
Yman didn't know how to react to this person.
"I see, then okay," he said with a poker face.
"Just don't pass out, okay!?" His opponent said with a grin.
"....."
<Partner, do you know that person?>
He heard Sistela's question at the back of his mind.
"No, or rather, even if I know, I still say no."
<Eh? So what exactly?>
"Well, it's a real no."
<.....>
While Yman and Sistela were secretly conversing, his opponent continued provoking him.
Right at this moment, Mora Liz announced the start of their fight.
"Now is the final match of the first half! Crimson versus King Aggressor!"
"NOW! FIGHT!"
Ting!
'Hehe, like hell, I will give him a chance to attack!' King Aggressor thought inwardly.
<Let's kill him on the spot, My master!> said his deity.
'That's my plan all along,' King Aggressor replied with a hidden grin.
<Just be careful, my master. Your opponent did well in his previous match.>
"What? My opponent did well in his previous match? Who cares? I did better, you know," he muttered with unwavering eyes.
He even believed that he could become a champion in this competition if he gets lucky.
If even that gorilla girl from D-class a while ago was able to defeat an Elite-class, he believed he too could do it. Or rather, he had a better chance to do it.
Well, his opponent right now is someone from D-class only, so it is an easier opponent compared to those elites in the waiting hall.
After the bell, he kicked the slab floor of the stage as he accelerated towards his opponent.
Regardless, he could not be careless. He summoned his flying knives around him.
They remained in mid-air, beside him, and followed him like drones.
<Be careful, my master. Something is approaching.>
He heard his deity's warning.
Right at this moment, he noticed a speck of crimson light floating in the air. It was unhurriedly approaching him.
He squinted his eyes without stopping his rush.
But such a tiny light that is only as big as the child's fist, what can it do against him?
Nonetheless, he needed to be careful. He could not let any misgivings.
[Reinforcement Shield!]
[Defensive Light!]
He used his defensive abilities.
After he traversed half of their distance from each other, the speck of light also arrived in front of him.
He could choose whether to evade it or get rid of it.
However, before he could decide, he heard a finger-clicking noise. Then the speck of light shone blindingly. And that's the last thing he remembered.
After a thunderous explosion, silence descended in the plaza, where the competition was being held.
Everyone had a uniform expression. They had their jaws dropped on the ground and their eyeballs about to leap out from their eye socket.
And in everyone's mind,
WHAT THE F*CK! HALF OF THE STAGE DISAPPEARED?!!
They were all screaming deep inside.
