Mo Huaifeng stopped in his step, frowning. “It scratched you?”
“Yeah. But it was very mild, just two red lines.”
Mo Huaifeng’s brows relaxed. “Serves you right for provoking it.”
“What has it got to do with me? It was Xiaofei who provoked Orange!”
“Then why did it scratch you?”
“How would I know? Shall I ask it on your behalf?”
Ji Zhiyao bowed his head and shook Orange’s paw. “Orange, we’re asking you, why did you scratch me, is it because I’m too good-looking?”
Orange kicked its little short legs twice and didn’t even meow, seeming like it didn’t really want to give him any attention.
Mo Huaifeng snickered. “It’s saying that you’re ugly.”
“You’re bullsh*tting!”
“Say that again.”
Ji Zhiyao was frightened again and attempted to change the topic by asking, “Captain, where are you walking to now? You know the way to the pet hospital?”
“There were fewer taxis back there, I’m finding a spot to flag a taxi.” With a darting glance, Mo Huaifeng happened to flag one down. It was inconvenient for Ji Zhiyao as he was carrying a cat, he opened the car door for Ji Zhiyao. “Get in.”
Ji Zhiyao grinned and climbed in. “Thanks Captain.”
Mo Huaifeng also got on, then spoke briefly to the driver. The taxi began to drive off in the opposite direction.
In about ten minutes, the taxi stopped.
Mo Huaifeng and Ji Zhiyao alighted. They were outside a store, on its signboard were pictures of cats and dogs that made it look especially adorable.
Mo Huaifeng pushed open the door, Ji Zhiyao entered, following behind him.
As it was a weekday, there weren’t many people in the pet hospital. Orange seemed to have gotten a sense and began to wriggle restlessly.
Ji Zhiyao grabbed it’s paw. “Orange behave, after the vaccination I’ll buy you little dried fish.”
Orange’s restless meowing instantly ceased.
Ji Zhiyao didn’t manage to hold back as he was being glared at by Orange’s dewy eyes, and gave him several more rubs.
Mo Huaifeng turned back and caught this scene, the corner of his lips twitched as he said, “Wait for me here, give me a moment.”
Ji Zhiyao nodded in agreement. Then watched as Mo Huaifeng walked to the front desk and asked something, then went to the payment counter to get a chit and paid at the same time... In about ten minute’s time, Mo Huaifeng returned. “Vaccination is on the right side, let’s go.”
Both of them entered the consultation room.
The room was decorated to be very pink and delicate and looked especially adorable.
Mo Huaifeng handed the chit over, the vet dressed in white gown said something then scooped Orange who was in Ji Zhiyao’s arms away... Orange foresaw that a disaster was imminent and meowed very tragically.
Ji Zhiyao did not really have the heart to let it happen, but the thought of someone possibly getting a deep enough scratch from Orange made him harden his heart, he warned Orange, “Stop purring, no matter how you continue to purr I won’t take you away from this!”
Mo Huaifeng thought to himself, a man and a cat could actually still communicate... Ji Zhiyao was really damn cute.
Yet all Ji Zhiyao had in his heart was his Orange.
He saw the vet bring out a new injecting syringe after pulling on his gloves, then drew out the liquid medicine in a small bottle... till this point, Ji Zhiyao grew afraid and didn’t dare to continue watching, he looked towards the ceiling.
Then, he heard a tragic meow coming from Orange.
The ones who heard it were saddened and the ones who watched it wept.
Ji Zhiyao carried the listless Orange and walked out of the pet hospital, in the course of it he continuously rubbed its underside, hoping to make it meow, yet a look of wishing for death was written all over Master Orange’s face. It didn’t even want to look at Ji Zhiyao.
Ji Zhiyao was dejected. “Captain, do you think Orange has depression?”
“I’ve never heard about any orange tabbies that became depressed from a vaccination.”
“He might just be the first. Virtually too tragic, suffering by himself but made history amongst orange tabbies.” Ji Zhiyao blabbered as he walked. “Why don’t we take him out to play, create a happy environment for it.”
Mo Huaifeng was speechless. “This is your actual objective.”
“Don’t make it sound so crude please, I’m obviously doing it for Orange’s good.”
“Okay.”
“I will just ask if you want to go on a date or not!”
Mo Huaifeng kept it in a for a long time before replying, “I do.”
Ji Zhiyao was instantly gleeful. “Then what else is there to say, let’s go.”
Because Ji Zhiyao had a slight craving for steak, both of them, together with Orange, took a cab to the nearest Western restaurant.
Before entering, Ji Zhiyao sneakily stuffed Orange into his coat, then pulled up the zipper. Mo Huaifeng’s temples hurt as he watched. “What are you doing?”
“I’m afraid that they won’t let us bring pets in, our Orange is so obedient, it doesn’t pee or poop randomly, neither would it create trouble, I don’t feel at ease leaving it outside.”
“Don’t you think you look like a pervert that steals cats?”
Ji Zhiyao blurted out without a thought. “You’re the perverted one!”
Ji Zhiyao looked down at his bulging belly, then said contentedly, “Alright, let’s go in.”
Who knew what the server would think, seeing Ji Zhiyao with a huge stomach, all Mo Huaifeng could think of was to push him a little further away, then prove to everyone that he did not know him.
They were finally seated and gave their orders.
Once the server left, Ji Zhiyao could feel Orange moving about continuously in his clothes. He reached to unbutton the top two buttons, then a furry head popped out from his clothes.
From Mo Huaifeng’s point of view, Ji Zhiyao and Orange looked at each other briefly, then they both turned to stare at him.
Utterly adorable.
Some thoughts stirred in him, Mo Huaifeng suddenly stood up, leaned half his body over and gave Ji Zhiyao a peck.
Ji Zhiyao was first dazed, then became aware that this was in public and was so frightened that he quickly looked left and right.
There were actually a few tables of diners not too far from them, but it seemed like no one was looking at them.
Ji Zhiyao could not help but sigh in relief, then tightened his hold on the little cat before his tummy and then criticized, “Captain, could you not pull such cheesy moves out of the blue? Please take into consideration that we’re in public?”
“This is Korea.”
People who recognized who they were, were literally non-existent.
That seemed to be how it was.
Then Ji Zhiyao stopped talking.
They sat in silence for some time and Ji Zhiyao played with Orange for a bit too, when he saw the server walking over with the steaks from afar, he then quickly stuffed Orange back into his clothes.
Yet because his actions were a little hurried and probably hurt Orange, Orange gave him a harsh scratch through his clothes.
“Pain pain pain!”
Mo Huaifeng pursed his lips.
The waiter who had arrived at their table stared at him, speechless.
The server put down their steaks with a complicated look, then left after a slight bow.
The server probably couldn’t understand the string of Chinese that he had blurted.
Ji Zhiyao thought secretly.
He finished his lunch while holding his cat with great difficulty. After settling the bill and leaving the restaurant, Mo Huaifeng asked, “Where else do you want to go?”
“I feel like going back to the villa to sleep.”
Mo Huaifeng instantly looked complicatedly at him, as if he was looking at some unpardonable criminal. “Didn’t you say this was a date?”
