The Empress replied, “Go on.” The female soldier replied, “Your Majesty, Wushua’s envoy, has arrived.”

The Empress’ face immediately lit up with joy, and she hurriedly said, “Invite her in right away.”

Wushua was another powerful country on Galileo, and they were only slightly inferior to Korinth in terms of strength.

“Please come inside, Miss.” Soon, a woman walked into the palace hall.

She was a beautiful woman wearing a white dress.

Her pretty face carried a sense of dignity and nobility.

She walked into the main hall and arrived before the Empress.

However, she did not kneel.

Instead, she said pompously, “Xianna Sadie, I’m an envoy from Wushua.

How dare you not personally welcome me?” The Empress smiled faintly in response and ordered her servant, “Please provide her a seat.” Soon, someone brought a chair for the envoy.

Wushua’s envoy sat down and crossed her legs.

The Empress smiled at her.

“Is there a reason Wushua has sent an envoy here to Sangria?” The envoy smiled disdainfully and said, “I’m here on behalf of our Majesty, Xianna.

His Highness has learned of Korinth’s attempt to conquer Sangria some time ago and heard that they are planning to strike again.

“His Highness has stated he will send a large army to garrison Yantargh Canyon and assist Sangria in resisting the Korinthian Army if you agree to unite our countries through a political marriage.”

The envoy explained the purpose of her visit.

The smile on the Empress’s face immediately disappeared.

‘Marry?’ ‘Impossible.’ It was Sangria’s long held tradition.

Any woman in Sangria was allowed to marry men from other countries.

The only exception to that was the Queen.

Women who married in different countries would also send their daughters back to Sangria, ensuring the country’s legacy.

The Empress replied coldly, “Go back and tell your Emperor I’m never going to marry him, I won’t abandon our country even if I have to go down with it.

Please leave at once.” She expelled her guest.

“You’ll agree to it sooner or later.” The envoy did not stay a moment longer and quickly departed.

The civil and military officials in the main hall looked at each other blankly, and everyone sat in stunned silence.

Meanwhile, Xianna, the Empress of Sangria, began to contemplate deeply.

The main hall went silent.

After a while, one of the officials stepped forward and advised, “Your Majesty, this is a good opportunity for us.

Wushua is a powerful country.

If we gain their protection, our country will have a chance to survive this disaster.” “You’re all dismissed.” Xianna stood up, flapped her sleeves, and left the main hall.

For the past couple of days, James had been living within the palace.

Since he was Sangria’s benefactor, he was allowed to walk freely around the palace and the city.

He was incredibly curious about the curse on Sangria and how it was able to kill off only men yet allow women to live unscathed in the country.

James wandered around for a few days but had not acquired any useful information.

He was slightly disappointed.

James returned to the palace’s entrance with a cigarette in his mouth.

Seeing James’ approaching, the guards at the palace entrance deliberately got on one knee to greet him.

James had grown accustomed to their respectful behavior and did not pay it much mind.

He leisurely walked into the palace and coincidentally bumped into the civil and military officials leaving the hall.

The officials were all attractive women.

Seeing James, they could not help but begin to talk about him.

“Why hasn’t he left yet?” “Does he have a death wish?” “Hush! Keep your voices down.

He’s Sangria’s savior.” The officials consciously avoided James.

“Mr. Caden.” A voice called out for James.

Hearing the voice, James turned to the source and found it was the general he had rescued previously.

He looked at her and nodded gently.

“Yeah?”
