Chapter 2693

“I see.” Realization dawned on James’ face.

Shaken, the Blademaster said, ‘The curse’s power is immensely malicious. Even I stand no chance against it. I’m afraid I cannot continue any further. I’ll leave everything to you two. I’m turning back now.”

Fearful for his life, the Blademaster wanted to turn back. James nodded and said, ”Mhm, this place is filled with evil. You should leave.”

“I’ll be waiting outside.” Saying that, the Blademaster stood up and hurriedly fled. James and Walganus looked at one another.

James asked, “I’m able to disregard the curse’s power here because I possess a Demonic Body. But, why aren’t you affected as well?”

Walganus smiled faintly and said, “I’m no ordinary man. I was able to appear on Planet Galileo despite the seal on the planet. What can a mere curse do to me?” ‘True that.”

James nodded.

Since Walganus was full of secrets, James was not surprised that he was also able to disregard the curse’s power.

He did not question him further.

The two continued on their journey. The deeper they ventured, the stronger the curse’s power became. However, the curse’s power was unable to deal any damage to James and Walganus.

The two continued straight ahead, traversing the barren landscape for approximately six months before eventually arriving at the core region of the Barren Wasteland.

There was a city there. However, the city was desolate, and half of its walls had already collapsed.

The two entered the city.

The city had been uninhabited for many years. The streets were silent without any signs of life. A gentle breeze blew and lifted the layer of accumulated dust on the ground.

“Looks like this place was once a bustling city.” Walking on the wide streets, James scanned his surroundings and said, “But, how did it become so desolate? Besides, what’s with the curse’s power being here? How did this come to be?”

A string of questions appeared in James’ mind.

“Walganus, was some treasure here contaminated by a curse? Is that why this place is full of the curse’s power?”

Walganus shook his head and said, “I don’t know. Besides, I’m not interested in knowing about the origin of the curse. I only want to know the location of Sangria’s Imperial Jade Seal.”

Wearing a bitter smile, James said, “I too wish to know the whereabouts of the

Imperial Jade Seal. But, this city alone is huge, not to mention the size of the entire

Barren Wasteland. How are we supposed to search for the Imperial Jade Seal?”

At that moment, Walganus suddenly turned around and stared straight ahead.

However, there was nothing there.

James turned around and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Wearing a grim expression, Walganus said, “I sensed something watching me.”

James scanned his surroundings. The city was completely desolate. How would anyone be watching them?

“Maybe you’re mistaken?” James asked.

“No, absolutely not. There was certainly something watching me just now.” Walganus’ expression was grim. There was no way he was mistaken.

“How creepy.”

James looked at the desolate city that had been uninhabited for many years as a chill ran down his spine.

Seeing there was nothing behind him, Walganus turned around and looked straight ahead, saying, “Let’s walk around.”

James nodded. “Sure.”
