“The Dark World has existed for many years. Throughout these long years, many powerhouses have risen. Those three hundred Ninth Stage Lords were born in the Dark World during these years.
“The Lord Rank’s Ninth Stage is the ultimate rank in cultivation. After hearing of the Acme Path and a new cultivation rank, many powerhouses naturally wanted to cross into the Acme Path and enter the Acme Rank.
“However, the Acme Path was merely a conspiracy.
“The mastermind spread rumors about the Acme Path to lure out the hidden Ninth Stage Lords in the Dark World to wipe them out.”

James was puzzled. “No?”
Xerxes said, “Although the Acme Path is just a myth to us, it really appeared back then. It’s unknown who released the news, but it’s said another unknown world is at the end of the Acme Path.
“The power in that world is rumored to be very potent. Only by coming in contact with the power in that world can one surpass the Lord Rank’s Ninth Stage and reach the Acme Rank. However, there’s a seal at the end of the Acme Path. Once it’s open, the power of that unknown world will leak out and destroy the Dark World.
“To Ninth Stage Lords, they had lived through and experienced many things. Their only pursuit left in life was to reach a higher cultivation rank and see a bigger world. These three hundred Ninth Stage Lords wanted to lift the seal at the end of the Acme Path to come in contact with the power of the unknown world so they could enter a higher rank.

Xerxes explained, “The seal really does exist. However, it’s uncertain whether a higher and broader world exists beyond the seal.
“No one knows who released these rumors.
“Meanwhile, Yukia is the one that claimed the mastermind’s goal was to wipe out the Ninth Stage Lords.
“It’s recorded in the notes left behind by my family’s ancestor that Yukia said the so-called Acme Path was a conspiracy. Once it opened, one would be contaminated with unknown power. Not only would one be unable to reach the Acme Rank, but it might also lead to death. Moreover, it would bring devastating consequences to the Dark World and Illuminated World.
“Of course, these three hundred Ninth Stage Lords did not believe her and thought Yukia was just worried they would surpass the Lord Rank’s Ninth Stage and hence was trying to deceive them by saying it was a conspiracy. That was why the battle broke out.
