The Otherworldly Adventures of a Super Naive Girl

Chapter 182

Chapter 182: Entry into the Virtual World

Feng Wu became worried after reading through the three books she purchased from the bookstore and memorizing the methods detailed.

The books mentioned chance encounters. But she didn’t know where Ming Xi was. They also talked about flowers, presents and jewels. She was supposed to heap praise on him. Then she had to find a way for them to “overcome obstacles together”. There were many other things as well.

Feng Wu didn’t know what to do so she called Jier.

“Xiao Wu?” Jier didn’t expect her to contact him after only a few days apart. Given his understanding of her, he suspected she wouldn’t have even noticed his absence. josei

“Jier, what should I do if I can’t find Senior Ming Xi?” She was like a little animal with her aggrieved expression. It made him want to pat her head and smooth her hair.

After tamping down the urge, Jier seriously thought about the problem and came up with an idea.

“Xiao Wu, go to the virtual world. Senior Ming Xi goes home for the holidays. Once at home he would definitely practice in the virtual world. If you want to meet him, try going there.”

Jier was just guessing. He didn’t know what Ming Xi would have done, but he didn’t want Feng Wu to keep looking at him with those eyes. The virtual world was so big, by the time she found Ming Xi the holiday would be over.

Feng Wu thought it was a great idea! How was Jier so smart? But then Feng Wu wondered out loud, “How do I go to the virtual world?” She stared at Jier.

Seeing her look, he explained how to sense the virtual world and enter it. Feng Wu nodded once she understood, then she promptly hung up without so much as a goodbye.

Jier sat on the edge of his bed staring in shock at the crystal in his hand. That little stinker! She'd hung up on him!

Feng Wu moved quickly now that she knew how to find Ming Xi. She looked for Tian Yue and explained to her, then handed Little Bun over to Little White before going to her room.

Jier had said the process was simple. She needed to relax her mind then use her consciousness to telepathically connect to the void. Her mind would find the door and flow into the world on its own. Upon connection, a physical representation of her would appear in the virtual world.

Once she made it there, her physical body in the real world would be protected by the stone. Her consciousness would be forced back to her physical body if any issues arose.

Jier said it was simple, but in reality it should have been a difficult task. It required a great deal of concentration, and for most people would take several hours, if not an entire day, before they could sense the entry to the virtual world and make a proper connection with it.

Fortunately it was only this difficult the first time. Thereafter it was a simple matter of focusing your mind into the stone and for the door to appear.

Feng Wu followed Jier’s instructions and was able to connect within minutes. This was a remarkable achievement. It would have shocked the teachers if they knew. The shortest known time was half an hour. A few minutes? No one had heard of such a thing.

After connecting to the virtual world, Feng Wu felt like her consciousness was in a strange place. She came to an open door in front of a long crystal wall. Light shone through the open door so it was hard to see what was inside because of the glare. There were many other people moving along as well. Their goal seemed to be the door.

“Fourth, how’d the mission go? Did you complete it?”

“Don’t even mention it. We had such bad luck, a bunch of people died and we had to use a recovery potion to get back in. Whoever it was that attacked us from behind had better hope I never find ‘em. I’m going to kill ‘em ten times over!”

“Aliya, you changed your clothes! These are really pretty!” The voice of a girl floated over. The envy was clear in her voice.

“Of course! This is Master Ivan’s work. He’s a top sewist in the world. How can it not be beautiful?” was the proud reply from the girl wearing it.

“It must have been so expensive!”

“Of course! It was 500 gold.”

“Trying to form a new team to kill the boss. You want to join?”

“Totally. Which boss?”

“Xu Wen Tai.”

Feng Wu listened to their strange words as she followed along. There was no expression on her face, but her heart was blazing with the word “dumbfounded”.

Had Ai Lin[notes] been there, she would recognized the atmosphere for what it was: an online game!

The scene suddenly changed when a large army went through the door. Everything was replaced by a small village. A large crowd in front of her were wearing the same coarse clothes she had on. Although Feng Wu didn’t know what was going on, she knew she had reached the virtual world. But now how was she to find Ming Xi?

She stood in front of the village staring at nothing in particular for half an hour.

Picture the scene: a beautiful dark-haired girl standing in front of the village looking dazed. Passersby glanced at her from time to time while in their minds they wondered what she was doing.

Anna Jasmine Rice was a gold and fire magician as well as the third daughter in the family’s direct line. Naturally she was a valuable member of the family clan and received an A-level stone to use in the virtual world.

She’d received the stone not too long ago and had been spending most of her time in Novice village. The virtual world was an unknown and challenging place for her. If it weren’t for the fact staying too long would have a negative impact on her physical body, she would have been happy to stay and never leave.
