The Otherworldly Adventures of a Super Naive Girl

Chapter 191

Chapter 191: Counterattack

Shui was a well-known genius dual water and wood magician in the ancient eastern kingdom. Her reputation wasn’t gained through combat experience, unlike Feng Wu who had lots of experience scuffling with the animals in YueHua mountain.

Most magicians were rubbish at close combat. Long range, they had the advantage, but once you closed that distance any advantage they had went out the window. They wouldn’t be able to continue fighting.

Magicians wouldn’t let other fighters get close to them but Shui looked down on Feng Wu so she had never considered it a possibility. Shui had high self-esteem and she hated the original Feng Wu with a passion. She didn’t believe Feng Wu could pose a threat to her so she was unguarded.

Shui’s wand blew out of her hand after Feng Wu’s movement. It was stunning and Shui’s group was shocked. Everyone knew Feng Wu had no talent for spells or combat. How did she unarm Shui so easily?! It had to be an illusion!

Regardless how they felt, Shui still lost, defeated by someone she looked down on. It was the worst kind of defeat. Worse than when she lost to her brother or his friends.

Shui stared at her empty hand. She lost to a no talent nothing.

Jin Li hadn’t made a move from beginning to end. He frowned at the scene. Walking over he picked up the dropped wand and placed it in Shui's hand.

“Stop fighting.” His tone was flat but it had an undeniable air of command. The boys were used to listening to Jin Li when the captain and vice captain weren’t present. The immediately backed away and rejoined Jin Li.

Pei Qing and Wind raised their eyebrows. They put their weapons away and withdrew to Feng Wu’s side. Rain and Feng Ting also returned to their respective teams.

“No! No! Impossible! You can’t practice magic - you don’t have any qi! How can you fight me?!” It wasn’t until everyone returned to their teams that Shui returned to her senses and realized what had happened. She screeched and pointed her wand at Feng Wu, resentment and panic clear in her eyes. josei

“That’s enough. We’re returning to the city.” Jin Li frowned. On one side was one friend’s sister, on the other side was another friend’s sister. He didn’t want to watch them fight past the point of reconciliation.

“Just let them go?” Ning Fei wasn’t willing. They clearly had better weapons and equipment. They could win, but now they had to retreat without a fight?

“Let us go?!” Wind was disdainful of this guy’s evaluation of the situation. Who was letting who go here?

Rain thought the same thing.

“Remember, she’s Tian’s little sister.” The implication being, don’t just look at who’s directly in front of you, but also consider the person behind.

Ning Fei glared at Feng Wu. “Shui doesn’t need this kind of sister.” He spoke viciously but had obediently put his weapon away. It looked like he finally understood.

“No I can’t let it go. She slapped me twice.” No one had ever laid a hand on Shui, so how could she be willing to leave when she was slapped, not once, but twice? Where would her pride as a daughter of the Qui house be if she let this go?

“You scolded her for so long and didn’t suffer anything.” It was obvious to Jin Li that Feng Wu had minded her own business. It was Shui who picked a fight. None of this would have happened if Shui hadn’t continued her unpleasantness.

“Brother Jin Li! Whose side are you on? Why are helping that slut?” Shui didn’t expect him to say that. Her face turned blue from rage.

Jin Li had no interest in the quarrel. “I’m not helping anyone. Bai is almost here so let her be." They were only doing the mission to kill time while they waited for Bai. Since he was coming soon, there was no reason to continue.

Feng Ting was anxious. “Wait Brother Jin Li. I want that recording stone.” Striking Feng Wu back wasn’t as important as getting the recording. The stone was more important. It would be problematic if anyone in the Feng house saw it.

Thinking that Feng Ting wanted the stone out of concern for her, Shui was touched by how wonderful her friend was.

In reality Feng Ting was only thinking about her own position in the Feng house.

“Don’t worry about it. Do you really think they have the guts to release the video? If they do, Feng Wu’s past will be dug out too.” Jin Li smiled; he was confident about the matter.

Rain snorted. It was true, though she wasn’t going to admit it.

There were many students from Xingguang in the virtual world. While releasing the video would damage Shui’s reputation it would also bring unnecessary focus on Feng Wu. Hurting yourself to hurt the enemy was dumb. She only took the recording out to egg them on. It was a shame that guy saw through it.

Feng Ting was a smart girl. The day’s events threw her off but with Jin Li’s reminder she got her perspective back.

“Let’s go.” Jin Li took the lead down the mountain.

The others in his group followed behind, though each one made sure to give Feng Wu a dirty look on the way out. Feng Ting was the only one to look at Feng Wu a bit embarrassed.

Once they were gone Rain, Wind, Pei Qing, and Feng Wu were the only adventurers on the mountain.
