Chapter 334 - Elemental Spirit Beast! - Part 4
That is how Kenneth was able to keep track of the Water elemental Spirit Beast for so long without losing its trail. The Fire Blue Butterfly Demon Beast was a very rare species of a Demon Beast. Some even thought they went extinct.
It can spray a unique powder on its prey, which weakens the victim and leaves a mark or a scent that gets etched into the soul of the victim, making it almost impossible for anyone to erase it. No matter where the prey goes, the butterfly will never lose track of it.
"Noooo!" Kenneth’s mournful scream resounded across the river. The disappearance of the scent meant that the Elemental Spirit Beast has died. And it was because of his attack that the Elemental Spirit Beast was killed together with that thief.
Kenneth flew above the river like a madman. The Elemental Spirit Beast was essential to him. He was going to gift it to his disciple for the completion of an important cause.
Greatly disappointed, Kenneth finally decided to head back, but just then, he spotted something in the corner of his eyes. It was a hand. Kenneth immediately turned and rushed to it. He grabbed hold of it before the hand sank back into the river.
Kenneth glanced at the severed hand with hatred.
"Hmph! If you had gone back at my first warning, you might have still lived and not died under my attack... But who were you? Why did the Elemental Spirit Beast not attack you when you came closer to it. You even had a Spirit Beast and strong Rank 2 Demon Beast with you." Kenneth tried to find the guess the identity of the thief. Though he couldn’t see his face clearly at that time, from just the hand, Kenneth knew it was a young man in his twenties. Also, having a Spirit Beast and a Peak Stage Rank 2 Demon Beast is no small matter. Either that thief was a young master of a big, renowned family or a core or an inner sect disciple of a large FIve Sects. Only they can cultivate such a guy.
"He was able to use Lightning Element that means he is at least an early Stage Elemental Gathering Relm Cultivator. But to my knowledge, there is no one like him in the five big sects. Even the renowned clans of the Belmont Subcontinent do not house such a young Elemental Gathering Realm Cultivator. Then who could he be?" Kenneth shook his head and stopped thinking about it any further. No matter who that person was, he is now dead.
Rather than wasting time here, Kenneth thought it was better to find a good Demon Beast pet for his disciple, which was also his goal this time. As for the Elemental Spirit Beast, it was only a chance encounter, and any hope to encounter another one is not possible.
Kenneth sighed before throwing the severed hand of the thief back into the river. Since there was nothing for him to do here, Kenneth flew back in the direction from where he came.
While the thief’s severed hand sank to the depths of the river, a boy appeared inside an alley out of thin air, looking frustrated.
...
"Dammit!" Alex punched the wall to his right in anger. Fortunately, Alex held back his power so that the house next to the alley in which appeared doesn’t get destroyed because of him.
"One day, I will fucking make you regret making me sacrifice one of my puppets." Alex was forced to swap with one of his puppets in the Hemforth City to save his life, as he would have been dead or seriously hurt if Kenneth’s attack had hit him head-on.
"Pinng!"
"Yeah, I know, you and I, we will both teach that bully what happens when someone becomes our enemy," Alex replied to his new comrade.
Alex took a deep breath to calm his mind. He just had a close call. But it was all worth it when he looked at the Water Elemental Spirit Beast meeting with Plum, Fiona, Layla, Kraby, and the Netherspawn Worm for the first time in the Demon Beast space.
Alex looked at the deserted street from the corner of the alley.
"My Lord, we have arrived at our destination. Are we still going ahead with the plan?" Pero’s voice suddenly rang inside Alex’s head as he contacted his lord after reaching near Hemforth City.
"Wait a minute... Yeah, we are going ahead with the plan. That guy has gone back. You will start after I take care of the aristocratic family ruling this city. Take over the gates and the city wall as soon as possible after I give the signal. Don’t forget the port next to the river. That place needs to be secured so that no one can escape. I will release Kraby in the river, and Anahita will help him control the situation there." Alex said.
Anahita was the name he had thought for the Water Elemental Spirit Beast. It meant Water or river goddess in Persian.
He thought of this name because he had a school friend with that name when he was on earth. The ability that he should have gotten from Anahita must have something to do with the Water Element. But Alex didn’t know what it was yet.
"My Lord, we are short in numbers. Should I buy more puppets? We have sufficient Spirit Stones. The army of the Armen Kingdom was quite rich." Pero asked. They were only five hundred puppets, including the spies that had already infiltrated inside the Hemforth city.
"Yes, you have my permission. Do as you see fit." Alex didn’t have any problem buying more puppets since he had the funds and sufficient Faith points to manage the new puppets.
That night, the Hemforth city citizens woke up once again due to the commotion caused by Alex disguised as Marco and his puppets when they defeated the City guards and killed the Noble Clan’s leader protecting and watching over the Hemforth city. He was the traitor who had defected to the enemy side when the Sylvia Kingdom fell.
The King of Armen appointed the Chief City guard of the Hemforth CIty, and he was stubbornly and blindly loyal to his king. Therefore, Alex had to kill him too; there was no need to keep such a person alive or capture him.
Pero had taken Commander Nexon with him, so it was easy convincing the citizens about the strength of the new owner of the Hemforth City. Not to mention, more than a quarter of the citizens residing in Hemforth city were previously the citizen of Slyvia Kingdom and most of them were very happy with city changing hands.
Furthermore, the Armen King’s supporters still thought that the Armen kingdom would be able to take back the city from Marco’s hands and his Lord, whose name they heard for the first time, King Danny Glover.
Alex stood folding hands at the northern defense wall of the Hemforth City, looking over the river flowing next to it. The sun was going to rise in a few minutes from the east as the sky had started to brighten a little bit.
"Plum~."
Plum bounced up and down on his shoulder while Anahita stood next to him like an obedient child.
"Pinng~!"
Alex looked down at Anahita when she called him. Her crystal blue eyes and her transparent water body shined orange as the first rays of the sun fell on her.
"You want to hold my finger?" Alex asked.
"Pinng~!"Anahita responded while bobbing her head up and down.
Alex put his hand to his side to let the Elemental Spirit Beast hold his finger.
"Pinng~!" Anahita became happy after getting to hold his forefinger.
Alex felt he had dipped his finger in a cold pond. The clutching sensation of a small hand around his finger felt very real to Alex.
Alex was amused by seeing the human expression appearing on the face of the water Elemental Spirit Beast.
"Will that person really not be able to locate Anahita now?" Alex raised a question in his mind.
"No, he can’t. You can rest assured that the foreign substance sticking to the soul of the Water Elemental Spirit Beast has been wiped out once she contracted with you." The Heavenly Spirit replied.
"Hm, it’s a relief to know that we are safe for now," Alex said. When he got to know how that green-robed man could track Anahita, Alex was shocked. He immediately guessed a few Demon Beast with such kind of ability, and they were extremely rare to find, just like his Netherspawn Worm. Thankfully, during the binding of their soul, this problem was solved, or else that man would have followed Alex all the way to Hemforth City.
