Chapter 89 Under her unbelievable eyes
Lou Rouer wanted to drive the truck right in the middle of the village before starting to distribute the supplies but for some reason that pair of girl and boy held her up for some minutes.
After they waited for 15 minutes, only then they allowed Lou Rouer to drive through.
"Strange, why those two little guys kept pestering me with so much trivial talk."
-Lou Rouer muttered as she, at last, drove the truck right to the middle of the village.
But there was already a big crowd long gathered.
"Those kids are really nice, it seems they really called everyone out?…..it will make things much easier for me!"
With a gentle smile, she got out from the driver's seat.
As soon as she got out, swarms of villagers rushed at her and surrounded her.
"Is what the kids said real?"
"Will you really help us?"
"You brought a lot of food supplies?"
"They said the food in the truck is enough for the entire village to last one full month?"
All at once, a barrage of questions was thrown at her.
Not losing her calm, Lou Rouer gestured to the crowd to be quiet.
"Yes, whatever the kids spoke is real."
"Let's start distributing supplies as it is already getting late", with a kind-hearted voice, Lou Rouer calmed the excited crowd.
But it was at this moment she noticed, there were hardly 100 villagers. Weren't the numbers supposed to be at least 200 according to Su Chen's, so where are others? It will be bad if someone is left out.
"Guys, there seem to be only 100 people that are gathered here, isn't the village population at least 200-250, so where are the rest?"
She asked loudly to the crowd that had gathered around.
Hearing Lou Rouer's words, the faces of many people turned black but nobody showed any disdain.
Lou Rouer, who had come to the village for the first time, didn't know the inside story.
The village was divided into two factions.
Naturally, the ones gathered belonged only to one faction and so were the group of children that met Lou Rouer at the entrance of the village.
Because of the same number of people on either side of the two competing factions, the situation in the village was in a stalemate.
Since both the factions had been fierce rivals for quite some time, How can they be willing to give the other so many supplies?
Hearing Lou Rouer's question, the nearly 100 people gathered didn't panic.
A bald man who seemed to be their leader spoke,
"Can't you see there are already 100 people here?"
"Isn't it simple math? One person from each household came!"
"Yes, that's right!"
"Exactly, from each household in the village, one person has come. The rest of the people are in their respective houses."
-One by one, the group started supporting the bald man who spoke.
Listening to them, Lou Rouer had some doubts but nevertheless, she still strongly believed how can they lie? Rich people can lie but poor people like them can never lie.
"Okay, guys let's start distributing supplies."
"Please stand in a line as I will personally give everything after proper rationing."
The crowd nodded in understanding and formed a big line beside the truck.
Seeing how obedient and sensible the villagers were, Lou Rouer smile grew even wider.
She was doing such a noble work, her heart was filled with inexplicable sweetness.
Without wasting any further time, she unlocked the first container.
Seeing the things inside, the large number of jute bags piled up to the brim, the eyes of all the spectators were filled with the purest greed.
Their breathing hastened as they saw this was the real deal.
Just as Lou Rouer was about to give away the first jute bag full of potatoes to a middle-aged-aunt standing in the front of the line...the young group of children she had met at the entrance of the village prior came running down.
"Fast!"
"Fast, the Loo Fang group is coming here!"
"Someone leaked that a lot of food is here!"
"They are rushing here."
The group of people knew the Loo Fang group was the other faction in their village who lived on the outskirts.
Before Lou Rouer could comprehend what was going on, the line in front of her broke in an instant as everyone rushed towards the truck.
It was a complete mess.
Lou Rouer panicked, if things go like this some people will loot everything while others may not get much.
In desperation, she tried to calm the agitated crowd but how can a single woman stop a hundred people?
She used her body to block the container's entrance but how could others let her succeed?
The middle-aged-aunt, who was standing in the front, upon seeing Lou Rouer's resistance quickly put her hands in her thick jacket and took out a wooden stick that she was secretly hiding beneath her clothes.
Pang~
The wooden stick hit Lou Rouer's head, causing her to get dizzy.
Because of the sudden impact, she lost her sense of judgment and was easily pushed aside.
It took only a mere few seconds as the first container was emptied at a lighting speed.
Lou Rouer, who had some blood flowing down her forehead, was in a complete mess.
Her brain couldn't figure out what went wrong?
Just a moment ago, everyone was happy and seems so civilised but now why are they acting like some shameless hooligans?
But she was not given enough time, after emptying the first container of the double decker truck, it was the time to loot the second container.
Some old aunts rushed at her and mercilessly started frisking her clothes, trying to find the keys to the second container.
"Give us the key, or we will tear your clothes!"
"Yes, if you don't give us the key, we will then make you parade naked in the entire village!"
Hearing their blatant threats, Lou Rouer hurriedly took out the key from her trouser's pocket and threw it in a panic.
She was scared.
Never had she been so mishandled.
For the first time, she was completely overpowered, unable to resist anything….with her unbelievable eyes she saw everything unfolding in front of her.
No one paid attention to her.
Everyone's mind was preoccupied with looting and plundering, and that's what they did.
Just 15 minutes and both the containers were emptied.
After taking out everything, the crowd ran away to their houses carrying big jute bags full of supplies behind their backs.
Luckily, injury sustained on Lou Rouer's head was minor so she was able to stand when the crowd had just dispersed away.
But things had just begun, at the same lighting pace another group of hundred people came rushing under the lead of other faction's leader Loo Fang.
