Chapter 1605 Sophia Slept In

His first few sentences sounded rather sweet, but the last sentence killed Sophia’s mood. She ignored his words and took the baby from his arms before she left the room and went downstairs. John tagged along behind at a leisurely pace, and he stopped and leaned by the doorway to the kitchen once Sophia went in. “Ian’s coming back today, right? Let’s bring the child along to welcome him. Look how generous I am! I usually require others to make an appointment a few days in advance if they want to see my baby, yet I’m offering to bring the baby along to meet him today. I can’t be any nicer to him.”

Sophia looked up to stare at John. “Are you sure you’re not doing this just to make him angry?”

John scoffed. “Why would I make him angry? I don’t care about him.”

Sophia pouted. If he didn’t offer to bring the baby, I might have believed that he has let go of all the conflicts that occurred in the past. But now that he’s using the baby to do this, it shows that he’s still as petty as ever.

She held the baby in one arm while using her fork with the other. Her movements were well-practiced; it looked like she often ate her meals in the same way. John frowned and watched her for a while before he walked over to take the baby from her arms. “You can focus on eating your meal. My son’s going to get hungry if you carry him like that.”

Sophia didn’t protest as she let John carry the baby. After that, she simply lowered her head to continue eating. On the other hand, John held the baby in his arms as he sat down beside her. “Do you think Ian’s going to be banned from the entertainment industry? His issues are all over the Internet now.” novelbin

“You just can’t hope for the best when it comes to him, huh?” she said without looking up.

John pinched the baby’s face playfully. “Would it matter even if I hoped for the best for him? If my thoughts have the power to control the way this world works, I’ll probably be the richest man alive by now.” John was probably addicted to bantering since he had just returned from his work trip.

Sophia decided to ignore him, for she didn’t want to lose her temper. Her phone was in her pocket, and it rang halfway through her meal. It was a call from Logan, and he sounded rather excited on the other end of the line. “Sophia! I’m at the clubhouse now. You and John can come over if you guys don’t have anything else to do.”

She felt the urge to laugh after hearing what Logan said. “Are you that excited? You’re there really early.”

“I don’t have much to do anyway. I thought we’d come here since Lola wanted to go for a walk. Come on. You can come a little earlier too,” Logan said with a soft chuckle.

“Give me some time to prepare. Your call came a little too suddenly! I can’t just drop everything and rush over to you, can I?” Sophia uttered after contemplating for a moment.

Logan couldn’t conceal the amusement in his voice. “Sure. You guys hurry up then. We’ll wait for you here.”

Sophia continued to eat after she ended the call. Once she was done, the maid came over to clean the table up while Sophia headed upstairs to change. John didn’t follow behind her this time; he simply strolled around in the living hall with the baby in his arms. Belinda had just come back from a walk, and

she noticed that John was the only one downstairs. “Why isn’t Sophia here yet? Is she still asleep?”

John smirked. “No. She just had her meal, and she went upstairs to get changed. We’re going over to Logan’s in a while.”

Belinda only seemed to relax after hearing his words. “I was shocked. I thought she isn’t feeling well. Why did she sleep in for so long today?”

John was too embarrassed to explain that they had spent half the night before engaging in intense activities in bed. “Ah… I guess her sleep was disturbed because she woke up to care for the baby a few times last night.”

Belinda didn’t realize anything odd with his statement, so she sat on the couch before gesturing for John to bring her the baby. The baby kicked his arms and legs, and he giggled every time he saw a new person. Belinda was extremely fond of the baby, and she rubbed her dry hands against the baby’s cheeks. The baby’s eyes crinkled as he laughed and gurgled.

“I don’t think I should die anytime soon,” Belinda said. “This little guy laughs every time he sees me.”

“What nonsense are you saying? You have a long life ahead of you,” John uttered hastily.

“Let’s hope so.” She nodded.

John lifted the baby into his arms and continued to walk around the living room. “I was thinking of bringing the baby to visit Grandpa in a few days. You should come along with us, Grandma.”
