Chapter 1726 Base Instincts

At this moment, Aurora tapped Ian’s shoulder. “Quick! Didn’t you say you were great at this game? Come and play with us.” At this moment, Aurora tapped Ian’s shoulder. “Quick! Didn’t you say you were great at this game? Come and play with us.”

However, Cindy placed her phone down. “I’ll let you two play. I’m going to wash my face.”

Since neither Cindy nor Aurora was good at the game, she didn’t particularly care whether Cindy was playing or not.

Thus, Ian grabbed Cindy’s cell phone to start a new session with his mother. After heading to the bathroom and splashing water on her face, she leaned against the washbasin and hugged herself.

In truth, his previous actions had caused her heart to race out of control so much so that when she thought of her relationship with him, she still felt somewhat dazed. It was as if her world had been turned upside down.

While it wasn’t a big deal in the past, her previous conversation with him now felt unreal. Among all of the women whom Ian had met before, she ought to be ranked at the bottom. Why would he suddenly choose her now? What an unexpected turn of events indeed!

Cindy could hear Aurora’s cheers outside; it no doubt meant that they were now on the winning side. After a moment of thought, she walked to the door to take a peek.

Ian was currently lazily reclining at a corner of the couch. Next to him was Aurora wriggling so excitedly that she looked like she was about to directly jump into her cell phone to engage her opposition in face- to-face combat.

A corner of Cindy’s lips subconsciously curled upward. How enchanting was she for her to have won this man?

At this point, as if he sensed her staring at him, Ian glanced up to meet Cindy’s gaze. She instantly panicked and ducked behind the bathroom door. At that, he burst into laughter, but asked Aurora, “Why are you so timid? Make your move!”

While she was still leaning against the washbasin, Cindy buried her face in her hands. Why are you so timid? Make your move! Somehow, she felt like that sentence was partially meant for her.

Meanwhile, Aurora griped loudly, “I am not! I’m always the first one to make my move!”

An amused Ian replied, “Oh, I hadn’t noticed.”

His words caused Cindy to chuckle against her will and she took several deep breaths before turning to exit the bathroom.

Now that she felt slightly courageous, she immediately went up to Ian and sat next to him before she imitated his earlier action—she rested her chin on his shoulder and watched him play the game.

In response, he turned to look at her. Since they were already glued to each other, the turning of his head meant she could feel his breath on her lips. All of a sudden, she remembered the unexpected kiss

from the previous night. That was a truly splendid feeling. No wonder so many people liked to date, given that there wasn’t any moment in which she didn’t feel light and bubbly.

They naturally won after this session ended, thanks largely to the cooperation of Aurora’s teammate. A satisfied Aurora muttered, “Serves them right for thinking they can defeat me. Look at how I’ve risen to the top now.”

Once again, Ian turned to look at Cindy. As she didn’t move away, the tips of their noses nearly touched.

“Do you want to play with us?” he asked.

She shook her head. “I’ll just watch you play.”

If Aurora wasn’t sitting there, Ian had no idea what he would have done. He always had excellent self- control, yet he felt like he would cave to the temptation at any moment when it came to Cindy. For example, he had to suppress his base instincts several times the previous night. How could his blood not race in his veins with someone so delectable in his arms?

He was somewhat absent-minded when he played the subsequent two gaming sessions with Aurora and they won by a hair both times.

Aurora probably had noticed Ian’s poor performance because she commented, “You messed up several times.”

The thing was he wouldn’t have screwed up if it weren’t for Cindy resting her chin on his shoulder.

In the past, before the couple came to a mutual understanding, Ian could’ve tamped down his desires, but now, he had neither the patience nor the wish to do so. While placing his cell phone aside, he announced, “Alright, I’m done. My neck is a little sore.”
