The Returning Ex Chapter 1144

Lola snorted. “But I don’t want you to come over.”

Of course, Jasmine knew who was on the other end of the phone without guessing, judging from the way Lola was talking. She laughed sadly to herself. Initially, she had a lot to say to Lola, for Lola was the reason Logan broke up with her, and she didn’t care whether Lola did it on purpose or not.

Even if she couldn’t get what she wanted, Jasmine wanted her to know she was the reason a relationship was ruined, but now, she thought there was no need to say anything after hearing that call. She felt like she was a joke, so she left before the call was done.

Lola noticed her departure, and she told Logan her location after Jasmine was gone. “Be right there.” Logan chuckled, then they ended the call. After that, Lola put her hands in her pockets and waited for Logan. A while later, he arrived.

Lola noticed his car from a distance away. Even though she knew it was wrong, Lola felt smug when Jasmine accused her of breaking her up with Logan. Earlier, she was seized by an impulse to call Logan over right in front of her. She didn’t know how she should feel about that.

Logan stopped his car and trotted toward her, then he smiled after noticing how much she had bought. “Are you going to shut yourself in for three months?” When Lola was going to pick her stuff up, Logan stepped in to help. “Let me. You don’t have to do it yourself.”

Lola didn’t protest. When they were going to his car, Logan said he wanted to invite her over for dinner.

Lola almost leaped up with shock. “Dinner at your home?” The last meeting with Lorraine was still vividly imprinted in her mind. Lorraine was welcoming, and overwhelmingly so. She couldn’t imagine how the rest of his family would react to her.

Logan put her items in his car. “Don’t worry.” He grinned. “My family won’t gobble you up.” When he noticed Lola wasn’t moving, he pushed her into his car. “Well, I went to your home for dinner, so it’s just right to return the invite.”

Lola didn’t want to, so she turned back to him. “I don’t want to. I want to go home.”

Ignoring her, Logan went around to the driver’s seat and locked the door, then he buckled up and revved the car up. “No can do. I promised them I’d take you home tonight.”

Lola pursed her lips. Admittedly, she wasn’t totally refusing him. She wouldn’t have gotten into his car if she truly didn’t want to go, and that was why she hated herself.

Lola knew she had fallen for Logan. Normally, she wasn’t someone who’d run from her troubles, but not when Logan was involved. She didn’t want to admit that she had fallen for this thug. Why did I fall for him anyway? He’s nothing but a big bad jerk. That question was still haunting her even at that moment, and she fell deeper into her dilemma.

Then, Logan brought her back to his residence. He had planned everything beforehand, including the gifts Lola would bring for her first visit.
